Zhenwu. To make the encounter available, follow the White-Robed Elder’s questline, summon him with the Bone Whistle during the Bo Sorcerer fight, and progress the main story to Bo Capital. Then return to the shrine and follow the path to the Tomb.
How to unlock the Zhao Yun encounter
The fight is tied to the White-Robed Elder’s quest progress; reaching Mt. Zhenwu or advancing the story alone may not be enough. The commonly documented trigger sequence is:
- Complete the White-Robed Elder’s earlier interactions as you encounter him through the game.
- At Refugee Camp, agree to help him defeat the Bo Sorcerer.
- During the Bo Sorcerer encounter, use the Bone Whistle to summon the Elder.
- Continue the main story until you reach Bo Capital, the fifth region.
- Return to the Tomb near Avian Dwelling in Mt. Zhenwu.
If the Elder is absent from the Tomb, check that you agreed to help at Refugee Camp and used the Bone Whistle in the Bo Sorcerer fight, then confirm you have reached Bo Capital. Walkthroughs vary in how they describe the earlier interactions, so completing the questline’s steps matters; region progress by itself is not a reliable unlock check.
How to reach the Tomb from Avian Dwelling
- Fast-travel to the Avian Dwelling shrine in Mt. Zhenwu.
- Take the fallen-tree shortcut.
- Pass the two frightened humans and cross the bridge.
- Continue along the path to the Avian Tomb, where Eternal Glory – Zhao Yun waits.
The boss is optional, so you can miss the encounter if you do not return to the Tomb after advancing the Elder’s quest.

Rewards and the Loyalty set
Defeating Eternal Glory – Zhao Yun drops the Shu Army Board, Cyan Feather Chisel, and Echo of Zhao Yun. The Shu Army Board can be given to Tao Qing; doing so adds the Malice Sting spear to his stock.
For the four-piece Loyalty armor set, interact with the blue point beside the shrine after the fight and perform the Worship gesture. It grants the Crown of Loyalty, Chainmail of Loyalty, Armguards of Loyalty, and Leg Guards of Loyalty. Do this before leaving the area.
