For example, Lost Ark’s card guide describes several in-game sources, while UNO mobile’s support information describes a collection event with its own eligibility requirement.
First, identify which game’s cards you mean
“Cards” can refer to very different things: collectible items in a video game, cards in a mobile collection event, or payment cards. Those systems do not share one set of instructions. This guide focuses on video-game card collections; use the official information for the specific game to confirm where cards come from and what you must unlock first.
Before spending time or currency, check these details in the game’s guide or support pages:
- Acquisition routes: which activities or events award cards.
- Eligibility: whether you need to reach a level, trophy count, quest stage, or other requirement.
- Selection and randomness: whether a reward gives a chosen card or a random pack.
- Duplicates and exchange: what happens when you receive a card you already own, and whether exchange or gifting is supported.
- Timing: whether the feature is permanent, event-limited, or available only to some accounts.
How card acquisition works in specific games
Lost Ark
Lost Ark’s official card guide lists quests, raids, wandering merchants, and other in-game activities as ways to collect cards. Cards are stored in the Card Deck/Catalog, and equipped card sets can provide bonuses. When a card arrives in your inventory, right-click it to add it to the catalog. The guide presents cards as a long-term progression system, so check its current details for the activities and set effects relevant to your character.

UNO mobile
Mattel Game Studios’ support page describes a card-collection event in which play provides packs. Packs contain random cards; the event also includes sets, duplicates, stars, and exchange or gifting features. The support information says access requires at least 60 trophies in UNO Road, but event availability may differ by account. Treat that threshold and the event mechanics as specific to the feature described, and check the current in-game event or support page because they can change.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket
DeNA’s September 20, 2024 announcement described free daily packs, pack stamina, and Wonder Pick. It said trading was planned for a future update at that time. That statement is historical, not confirmation of the app’s current trading status; consult current in-game information or an up-to-date official announcement before relying on it.

Do not confuse game cards with payment cards
Payment-card issuance is a separate subject from collecting cards in a video game. Nium’s technical documentation covers physical, virtual, and digital cards issued through an API, and says clients need an existing card program approved for bulk issuance. It is business documentation, not a consumer guide to earning or collecting game cards.

When a card method is unclear or unavailable
- Open the game’s official guide or support page and search for its card collection, catalog, pack, or event feature.
- Check the feature’s prerequisites before repeating an activity that may not award cards until you qualify.
- For events, verify that the event is active and available to your account.
- For random packs, check the game’s duplicate and exchange rules before assuming a pack can provide a specific card.
- For features described in older announcements, verify their current status in a newer official source.
