A report dated October 8 says Pokémon GO will hold a Zorua Community Day on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with boosted Shiny opportunities. But the event has not been confirmed by the official Pokémon GO announcement located for this date, so treat its schedule and bonuses as unverified until Niantic posts official details.
What the report says about the event
According to the October 8 report, Zorua will appear more often in the wild during a three-hour Community Day, and Trainers will have an increased chance of finding Shiny Zorua. The report does not provide a numerical Shiny rate, so it does not establish how likely an encounter is or guarantee a Shiny.
The same report describes a longer PokéStop lure opportunity: through 9 p.m. local time, Zorua would have a very high chance to appear at PokéStops with regular Lures active. Those encounters could also have a chance of Special Backgrounds. The report says Lures would last one hour, but gives no numerical spawn rate for the claimed high appearance chance.

When to evolve Zorua for Sucker Punch
The report says evolving Zorua during the event or within four hours after it ends would give the resulting Zoroark the move Sucker Punch. With the reported event ending at 5 p.m. local time, that puts the stated deadline at 9 p.m. local time on October 10. Because the event details are not officially confirmed, verify the deadline in-game before relying on it.

Reported trade bonuses
According to the report, Trainers could make one additional Special Trade that day, for a maximum of two, and trades would cost 50% less Stardust through 9 p.m. local time. These are reported bonuses, not independently confirmed event details.
Is the paid Special Research ticket required?
No, according to the report: the main wild event would not require a ticket. The report describes an optional Special Research ticket priced at $1.99, with three Zorua encounters that may have Special Backgrounds, a Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL. Neither the price nor the listed rewards were verified against an official listing, so check the in-game shop for confirmed terms before purchasing.

What is officially confirmed?
The official Pokémon GO result located for this event check was a January 2026 calendar covering Community Days from March through May—not an announcement for an October Zorua event. That does not prove the reported event will not happen, but it means the October 10 date, Shiny boost, bonuses, move deadline, trade window, and ticket details should not be presented as officially confirmed. Look for a Pokémon GO announcement or the event details in the app before planning around them.
