No possessor for Ballora, the animatronic from Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, is confirmed in canon. The idea that she holds the soul of Mrs. Afton is a fan theory built on interpretation, not an established answer. The question can be answered accurately, but only if the canon answer and the theory are kept separate.
What the game establishes
- Ballora is an animatronic character in Sister Location, associated with Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rentals and Ballora Gallery.
- The game depicts her during the night shifts and in the Scooping Room sequence.

Henry’s speech and the souls-in-machines idea
A later speech by Henry, delivered in the game’s Insanity ending, describes souls trapped inside machines and William bringing them together. That gives players useful context for possession theories, because it establishes that the franchise’s lore does include souls confined to animatronics. It does not, however, name Ballora or say which soul, if any, is inside her.
Speech transcripts circulating online are maintained by fans rather than published by the developer. Quote the wording cautiously, and do not present a fan transcript as official confirmation from the creators.

The Mrs. Afton attribution rests on thematic parallels and interpretation of the character’s design and behaviour. It is not a direct identification in the game material reviewed. The same caution applies to other broad lore threads. Theories about the Missing Children, remnant, or the Funtime animatronics may be interesting, but none of them resolves Ballora’s individual identity, and Henry’s speech refers to souls and machines in general terms.
