The thread titled “ROBLOX instantly crashes on launch!” describes a specific failure: Roblox reached the “Roblox is Starting” screen, then crashed when the player tried to join an experience. The original poster said reinstalling, deleting Roblox-related files, using a Windows clean boot, and resetting PC settings had not fixed it. This was a user support discussion—not a verified diagnosis or an official Roblox fix.
What happened in the original report?
Roblox Developer Forum user ruubloo (spectro) posted the thread on May 13, 2023. They reported that joining any experience caused an immediate crash after the startup screen. The post describes one user’s problem; it does not establish that the issue was widespread or identify its cause. Read the original support thread.
The poster said they had already tried reinstalling Roblox, deleting files associated with it, launching Windows with a clean boot, and resetting PC settings, without success. These are the poster’s reported attempts, not verified troubleshooting steps or evidence of a particular device fault.
Did Disk Cleanup fix the crash?
One reply suggested using Windows Disk Cleanup. The reports in the thread conflict: the original poster later said the approach worked for them, while other participants said it did not. One participant reported that it seemed unsafe and that their PC nearly crashed. The poster said they had tested the approach on Windows 10 and 11; the discussion does not establish that it applies to other systems or current Roblox versions. See the Disk Cleanup replies.

What can this thread establish—and what can’t it?
It documents one player’s launch crash, the troubleshooting they said they had tried, and conflicting reports about a Disk Cleanup suggestion. A separate May 2023 bug report describes other launch symptoms, including crashes, Roblox continuing to run in the background, and a white screen. Those reports do not establish a shared cause or a fix that applies to today’s Roblox clients. No prevalence statistic or current, device-specific official resolution is established by these discussions.
