The Diamond Ore Block with Steve is the best toy in McDonald’s 2025 Minecraft promotion. It combines Minecraft’s most recognizable resource with the movie’s central character. The Redstone Ore Block with Creeper comes second, while Birdie Wings is the best adult-meal collectible and Zombie Hamburglar is the funniest crossover.
This complete U.S. ranking covers 12 Happy Meal toys and six physical collectibles from the adult Minecraft Meal. The promotion launched April 1, 2025, while supplies lasted, and its published digital-code deadlines have passed.
The Diamond Ore Block with Steve is the best toy in McDonald’s 2025 Minecraft promotion. It combines Minecraft’s most recognizable resource with the movie’s central character, making it the strongest choice for both longtime players and A Minecraft Movie fans. The Redstone Ore Block with Creeper is a close second, while Birdie Wings is the best adult-meal collectible and Zombie Hamburglar is the funniest McDonald’s crossover.
This ranking covers the complete U.S. promotion: 12 Happy Meal toys and six physical collectibles from the adult Minecraft Meal. McDonald’s announced the promotion on March 20, 2025, with a planned April 1 launch, and distributed the items while supplies lasted. The ranking is editorial, not a resale-value guide or a hands-on laboratory test. It weighs recognizability, the quality of the McDonald’s/Minecraft crossover, display appeal, and how well each item represents the film or the game.

Every McDonald’s Minecraft toy, ranked
-
Diamond Ore Block with Steve — Happy Meal
This is the clearest Minecraft image in the entire collection. Steve is the game’s most recognizable human character, while diamond ore is one of its defining resources. Putting them together creates a toy that works equally well as a movie tie-in and as a miniature piece of classic Minecraft iconography. It is the best overall item in the promotion.
-
Redstone Ore Block with Creeper — Happy Meal
The Creeper is arguably the most instantly recognizable Minecraft mob, and redstone gives the toy a stronger in-game identity than a plain character figure would have. The vivid block-and-character combination also makes it one of the best pieces to display.
-
Birdie Wings — Adult Minecraft Meal
Birdie Wings is the most inventive adult collectible. It reimagines McDonald’s Birdie as a Minecraft-style item inspired by elytra wings, turning the restaurant mascot into a plausible piece of Minecraft equipment. This feels like a genuine crossover design rather than a character simply wearing Minecraft branding.
-
Grass Block with a llama — Happy Meal
The grass block is foundational Minecraft imagery, and the llama adds personality without making the design feel cluttered. More than a basic figure, this toy looks like a compact Minecraft scene.

Pink Wool Block with a sheep — Happy Meal
The pink wool block and sheep form a coherent pair, and the unusual color gives the toy more shelf presence than a standard block. It also captures Minecraft’s combination of building materials and friendly animals.
-
Zombie Hamburglar — Adult Minecraft Meal
This is probably the funniest mash-up in the promotion: the Hamburglar reimagined as a Minecraft zombie. It ranks below the top five only because the design is more McDonald’s-centered than Minecraft-centered. For collectors who enjoy both brands, however, its novelty is difficult to beat.

- Kid-Safe Design — Plastic toy with no batteries or assembly required; compact and lightweight (approx. 9 × 2 × 3 cm; 200 g), ideal for small hands and safe play.
-
Stone Block with Garrett Garrison — Happy Meal
Garrett Garrison is one of the movie’s principal human characters, and placing him with a stone block connects the film’s cast to Minecraft’s environment. It is a solid movie-specific collectible, although Garrett and stone are less universally iconic than Steve, Creeper, diamond, or redstone.
-
Gold Block with Dawn — Happy Meal
Gold is immediately recognizable as a Minecraft block, and Dawn gives the toy a clear connection to A Minecraft Movie. It falls short of the diamond and redstone pairings because the character-and-block combination is not quite as iconic, but it remains one of the stronger Happy Meal designs.

Big Mac Crystal — Adult Minecraft Meal
Big Mac Crystal is the adult line’s strongest food-to-Minecraft translation. It turns McDonald’s signature burger into a fantasy resource, making the concept instantly understandable and visually memorable.
-
Fry Helmet — Adult Minecraft Meal
The Fry Helmet converts a familiar McDonald’s fries container into Minecraft equipment. It is a simple idea, but its novelty is strong: even someone unfamiliar with the promotion can immediately understand the joke.
-
Grimace Egg — Adult Minecraft Meal
Grimace Egg translates a McDonaldland character into Minecraft’s egg-and-mob vocabulary. It is colorful and unusual, though its appeal depends more on appreciating McDonald’s characters than on conventional Minecraft imagery.
-
Creeper — Happy Meal
A standalone Creeper is still an excellent choice for a child or casual Minecraft fan because it is immediately identifiable. It ranks below the Redstone Ore Block with Creeper because the plain figure lacks that item’s stronger display concept.

-
Bee — Happy Meal
The bee is a friendly, recognizable Minecraft mob and an especially approachable choice for younger children. It lands in the middle of the ranking because it does not have the block pairing, movie connection, or McDonald’s twist that distinguishes the higher entries.
-
Wolf — Happy Meal
The wolf has broad child appeal and is one of Minecraft’s most familiar animals. Its lower placement is not a criticism of the character; it is simply a straightforward mob figure rather than a particularly surprising crossover design.
-
Skeleton — Happy Meal
Skeleton is a classic hostile mob and a faithful Minecraft choice. It ranks below the bee and wolf because the rest of the set offers more color, humor, or film-specific context.
-
Soda Potion — Adult Minecraft Meal
Soda Potion is a clever branded interpretation of a Minecraft potion, but it is less characterful than Big Mac Crystal or Fry Helmet. It should appeal most to collectors who enjoy the menu references as much as the Minecraft references.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy. -
Illager — Happy Meal
The Illager is an interesting choice for knowledgeable Minecraft players because it represents a less commonly merchandised enemy. For a general audience, however, it is less immediately recognizable than Creeper, Skeleton, Bee, Wolf, or the movie’s named characters.
-
Sheep — Happy Meal
The standalone sheep is pleasant and recognizable, but it is overshadowed by the more complete Pink Wool Block with a sheep. Of the 18 physical items, this feels like the least distinctive entry.

Best McDonald’s Minecraft toys by category
| Category | Best pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best overall | Diamond Ore Block with Steve | The strongest combination of movie character and classic Minecraft imagery. |
| Best Creeper item | Redstone Ore Block with Creeper | It combines Minecraft’s most famous mob with one of its signature resources. |
| Best McDonald’s/Minecraft mash-up | Zombie Hamburglar | The transformation of the Hamburglar into a zombie is the clearest brand crossover. |
| Best adult display piece | Birdie Wings | It turns a McDonald’s mascot into a Minecraft-style item inspired by elytra. |
| Best for younger children | Bee or Wolf | Both are friendly, recognizable mobs with straightforward designs and broad appeal. |
| Best movie-focused option | Diamond Ore Block with Steve | It features the film’s central character while still feeling unmistakably like Minecraft. |
Important warning about the digital rewards
The physical items were not the only promotion benefit. The six adult collectibles came with codes for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition character skins, and McDonald’s also ran a separate Add-On Pack campaign. However, the published terms gave the skin codes a redemption deadline of December 31, 2025. The Add-On Pack campaign ran from April 1 through June 12, 2025, while supplies lasted, with redemption also ending December 31, 2025.
Those published deadlines have passed. If you are buying an unopened McDonald’s Minecraft item now, do not assume that its code still works or pay a premium solely because a seller advertises an included digital reward. Treat the physical collectible and the code as separate parts of the purchase, and independently verify any claimed code status before paying extra. The codes were for Bedrock Edition, not Java Edition.

McDonald’s promotional pieces are collectibles rather than a standard retail toy line, so ordinary Minecraft merchandise is not an authentic replacement for a particular Happy Meal toy. A Mattel figure may give you Steve or Creeper in a new, licensed form, and a LEGO set may provide a larger Minecraft Movie display or play experience, but neither is a McDonald’s item.

For a character-based substitute, consider Minecraft Movie action figures from licensed lines such as Mattel’s. Mattel’s movie collection includes characters and mobs including Steve, Creeper, Skeleton, Dennis the Wolf, and Bee. These are best viewed as new merchandise for fans of the same characters—not as equivalent versions of the McDonald’s toys.
For older children and collectors who want a more substantial build, the LEGO Minecraft Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring is a thematic alternative featuring movie-related characters and mobs. It belongs in the larger Minecraft display-and-playset category, not in the 18-piece McDonald’s ranking.
You can also look for official Minecraft Movie merchandise from licensed makers or the Minecraft Shop. Check the product description, manufacturer, edition, and current availability carefully: a new Mattel figure, plush, or LEGO set can be a useful substitute for the theme, but it should never be represented as the same promotional item.
Bottom line
The promotion’s strongest design is the Diamond Ore Block with Steve, followed by the Redstone Ore Block with Creeper. Those two Happy Meal toys best balance character recognition and Minecraft identity. Among the adult collectibles, Birdie Wings is the most imaginative, while Zombie Hamburglar is the standout novelty. If you are collecting today, buy the physical item for its own appeal and treat any included digital code as expired unless you independently confirm otherwise.
Frequently Asked Questions

Are Mattel Minecraft Movie toys the same as McDonald’s toys?
The Bottom Line
