This is not a Windows system file. It should normally be located inside the folder belonging to the Corel application, commonly a Programs subfolder under the WordPerfect installation directory. It should not normally be placed in:

C:WindowsSystem32
C:WindowsSysWOW64

SysWOW64 is also a Windows system directory, despite its confusing name. Copying a third-party application DLL into either system folder can cause version conflicts and may expose the file to programs that were never designed to use it.

Errors caused by absetup.dll

You may see one of these commonly reported variants:

Fix 4: Check the file path and application architecture

Time needed: About 10 minutes

The publicly indexed absetup.dll file is described as 32-bit. That is consistent with older WordPerfect software, which may remain a 32-bit application even when installed on 64-bit Windows.

Why downloading absetup.dll is usually the wrong fix
