BlueStacks is the clearest route for playing Free Fire MAX on both Windows and Mac with a documented 120-FPS target. Google Play Games on PC is a useful Windows-only alternative, but Google does not document an equivalent 120-FPS setup. In either case, a 120-FPS setting is a target—not a guarantee that the game will sustain 120 rendered frames per second. You also need a display running at 120 Hz or higher to see the full benefit.
This guide reflects the documented options available as of August 2026.
What you need
- BlueStacks: Windows 7 or later, or macOS 11 Big Sur or later; at least 4 GB RAM, 10 GB free storage, administrator access, and current Windows graphics drivers. - Google Play Games on PC: Windows 10 version 2004 or later, an SSD with 10 GB free, 8 GB RAM, four physical CPU cores, compatible graphics, an administrator account, and hardware virtualization. Google’s requirements
- Display: A 120-Hz or 144-Hz monitor or Mac screen. A 60-Hz display cannot visibly show every frame from a 120-FPS render target.
- Account: A Google account for installing the game through Google Play.
Free Fire MAX does not use a conventional native Windows or macOS game executable in these setups. BlueStacks runs the Android version through an app player, while Google Play Games provides Google’s Windows gaming layer.
Best cross-platform method: BlueStacks
Choose BlueStacks if you use Windows or macOS, want keyboard-and-mouse mapping, or specifically want the most directly documented 120-FPS configuration. On Apple Silicon Macs, use the current BlueStacks Air or Mac offering where it is available. Intel Mac compatibility can vary by macOS release and BlueStacks build, so check the current Mac download page before installing. Google Play Games on PC does not run on macOS.

Install Free Fire MAX
- Download BlueStacks from the official Free Fire MAX page.
- Install the current BlueStacks version and open it.
- Sign in to the Google Play Store.
- Search for Free Fire MAX, not only “Free Fire.”
- Install the game from the Google Play listing.
- Launch it from the BlueStacks home screen.
Avoid modified clients and random APK mirrors. If the game is missing, first confirm that you installed the current official BlueStacks build and are searching for the exact title.
Set BlueStacks for a 120-FPS target
- Click the gear icon to open Settings.
- Select Performance.
- Set CPU allocation to High — 4 cores.
- Set memory allocation to Enhanced — 4 GB.
- Turn on Enable high frame rate.
- Move the FPS slider to 120.
- Click Save changes and restart BlueStacks when prompted.
These are the settings in BlueStacks’ current Free Fire MAX support instructions. BlueStacks also describes a Pie 64-bit instance and, for its best graphical experience, a 6,000 MB memory allocation. Start with the documented 4 GB/4-core configuration, then test the higher memory allocation only if the host computer has ample RAM. Giving too much memory to the emulator can starve Windows or macOS and cause stutter.
BlueStacks documentation also references Android 11 for related 120-FPS instructions, while its broader recommended setup uses Pie 64-bit. Instance availability and stability can vary, so use the instance type recommended by the current support page or the one in which Free Fire MAX is offered reliably. Do not install an old APK or obsolete instance merely to reproduce an older guide.

Use the in-game settings
In Free Fire MAX, start with:
- Graphics: Ultra
- High Res.: High
- High FPS: High
If frame rate is unstable, lower the graphics preset first while retaining High FPS. A consistent lower-quality image is generally preferable to a visually demanding setting that produces frame-time spikes.
Set up keyboard and mouse controls
BlueStacks provides a default control scheme and lets you edit it through its keyboard-controls editor. Its documented default shooting mode uses F1 to capture the mouse for aiming. The exact mapping can change, so treat the default layout as a starting point.
Make sure you can map and test:
- Movement and sprint
- Aim and camera movement
- Fire, reload, weapon switching, and item selection
- Jump, crouch, and prone
- Gloo Wall and character ability controls
Use the controls editor to move, resize, add, reset, or customize bindings. Use the relevant mouse-release shortcut when you need to interact with the emulator outside the game. Test the layout in a low-pressure mode before entering a competitive match.

You do not need macros, scripts, or automation to reach the 120-FPS target. Avoid modified clients and automation features that may create fairness or account-policy issues. Check the current Free Fire terms and anti-cheat guidance for your region before using any such feature; emulator use and automation should not be assumed to be risk-free.
Windows alternative: Google Play Games on PC
Google Play Games is worth considering if you have a compatible Windows computer and prefer Google’s PC distribution layer. Free Fire MAX has a listing in the Google Play PC storefront, but this is not a Mac solution and Google does not provide the same explicit 120-FPS configuration documented by BlueStacks.

- Download Google Play Games from the official Google page.
- Run the installer.
- Enable Windows Hypervisor Platform if prompted.
- Restart Windows if required.
- Enable CPU virtualization in BIOS/UEFI if it is disabled.
- Sign in with a personal Google Account.
- Search for Free Fire MAX, then install and launch it.
Google Play Games may label a game Optimized, Playable, Untested, Unsupported, or Not available. Google says a “Playable” title should be stable, run at 30 FPS or higher, and support a mouse and/or keyboard. How to verify real 120-FPS performance
Seeing “120” in an emulator menu proves only that the emulator has been configured for a 120-FPS target. To check actual performance:
- Set Windows or macOS to the display’s highest refresh rate.
- Enable BlueStacks’ FPS display or use a reputable frame counter.
- Test inside an actual match—not just the lobby or loading screen.
- Check movement, combat, and busy scenes.
- Look for sustained frame rate, frame-time spikes, stutter, input lag, and thermal throttling.
Unless you have tested your specific computer, describe the result as up to 120 FPS or a 120-FPS target, not a locked 120 FPS. The result depends on the emulator instance, game build, drivers, cooling, background processes, power mode, and hardware.

Free Fire MAX will not install or does not appear
- Confirm you are using the official current emulator build.
- Search for the exact title Free Fire MAX.
- In Google Play Games, check your country or account region and the game’s compatibility label.
- Confirm the computer meets the platform’s requirements.
- Use Google Play rather than an unverified APK.
- In BlueStacks, try the instance type recommended by its current support page.
Availability can vary by region, account, hardware, and game version. Google Play Games labels can also change because compatibility testing is not continuous.

FPS remains below 120
- Restart the emulator and computer.
- Update BlueStacks, Windows or macOS, and graphics drivers where applicable.
- Confirm virtualization is enabled where required.
- Plug in a laptop and use a high-performance power profile.
- Close browsers, overlays, recording tools, and unnecessary startup applications.
- Confirm the display is actually running at 120 Hz or higher.
- Lower Free Fire MAX’s graphics preset while retaining High FPS.
- Try the recommended instance type.
- If the host computer is running out of memory, reduce emulator allocation.
- Reinstall the game from Google Play if the installation is corrupted.
Minimum specifications may launch the game without providing enough headroom for stable 120-FPS play. Thin laptops can also reduce performance after sustained heat buildup.
Stuttering or input lag
Check frame-time consistency rather than only the displayed FPS number. Close overlays and recording software, test while plugged in, check temperatures, and avoid assigning so many CPU cores or so much RAM that the host operating system becomes starved. A 120-Hz display, responsive mouse, and stable sustained performance matter more than a higher emulator ceiling you cannot maintain.
Virtualization conflicts on Windows
Google Play Games may require Windows Hypervisor Platform and hardware virtualization. Google warns that changing hypervisor settings can affect other emulators. If you switch between Google Play Games and BlueStacks, revisit the virtualization and hypervisor requirements for the emulator you are using, then restart Windows if requested. Mac installation problems
Confirm that the Mac is running macOS 11 Big Sur or later and that your processor is supported by the current BlueStacks Mac offering. Apple Silicon and Intel Macs can have different compatibility depending on the macOS release and BlueStacks build. Google Play Games on PC cannot be used as a macOS fallback.

A Free Fire MAX update can alter compatibility, controls, or performance for a particular emulator architecture. Update the emulator and check its official support documentation. Do not solve a regression by downloading an old APK or an unofficial modified client.
