Razer’s Pokémon Gengar headset is available through US retailers, but it did not just launch: Razer announced the Kraken Kitty V2 – Gengar Edition for the US on August 19, 2025. It is a wired gaming headset, not a wireless pair of headphones. Current retailer listings offer places to check price and stock.
What is the Gengar Edition headset?
The full name is the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 – Gengar Edition (model RZ04-04730300-R3M1). It is a Pokémon-themed version of Razer’s Kraken Kitty V2, with an over-ear design and a boom microphone. Razer first released it in Asia, then announced its expansion to the United States, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand on August 19, 2025.
That date matters if you have seen the headset described as a new US launch. It launched in the US in August 2025; retailer pages remain a place to check current availability, but stock and prices can change.
Where to buy it in the US
Those are retailer price and inventory snapshots, not a guaranteed current price or a confirmed manufacturer MSRP. Check the product page for your location, seller, delivery date, and any pickup availability before ordering. A product page can remain visible even when local inventory is unavailable. Razer’s Pokémon collection page is another place to browse its licensed gear, but its presence there should not be taken as confirmation that Razer currently has the Gengar headset in stock.

Gengar styling and headset features
The design is deliberately conspicuous: it uses a purple Gengar-inspired color scheme, spiky protrusions on the headband, and RGB-lit earcups with shadowy Gengar imagery. There is also a hidden Gengar detail inside the headset. It is aimed at fans who want their headset to stand out on a desk or stream, rather than shoppers looking for a discreet everyday design.
Listed features include Razer TriForce 40 mm drivers, a HyperClear cardioid microphone, Razer Chroma RGB lighting with stream-reactive support, and hybrid fabric and leatherette cushions. These are product specifications, not independent measurements of sound, microphone quality, comfort, or positional accuracy.

It is wired—not Bluetooth or wireless
Retail listings classify the Kraken Kitty V2 – Gengar Edition as wired. Do not buy it expecting Bluetooth, wireless pairing, or a battery-powered mode. Before ordering, check the live listing’s connector details against the device you plan to use. This is especially important for phones, tablets, handhelds, and consoles, where port availability or an adapter may affect setup.
Best Buy lists compatibility with PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, mobile, and tablet devices. That broad listing does not guarantee every feature works the same way on every platform. In particular, Target specifies that the advertised 7.1 surround sound is available on Windows 10 64-bit. Treat it as a software-based gaming-audio feature, not evidence of seven physically separate speakers in the headset or a promise of identical surround processing on consoles, macOS, or mobile devices.

If you want Chroma lighting to react to a stream, check what software and configuration your setup requires; do not assume stream-reactive effects work automatically on every platform.

The Gengar Edition makes the most sense for Pokémon fans who specifically want Gengar styling, RGB lighting, and a boom mic, and who are comfortable with a wired headset. It is a weaker fit if you need wireless audio, a low-key appearance, or confirmed compatibility with a particular phone or console connection. Its advertised surround feature and component names alone are not a substitute for independent performance testing.

If you want a Pokémon-branded Razer headset but do not need the Gengar design, the Kraken V4 X – Pokémon Edition is a different option. Razer listed it at $99.99; it has different styling, so it is not a like-for-like Gengar replacement. Compare the current specifications and price on Razer’s page before choosing.
