Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available now on iPhone and iPad—but it did not newly roll out in 2026. Ubisoft launched the native iOS and iPadOS port on June 6, 2024. The app is free to download and lets players try its opening section; the complete game is unlocked with a one-time purchase listed at $29.99 in the U.S. on the App Store listing checked in August 2026.
Launch support covered the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad Air and iPad Pro models with an M1 chip or newer. Apple’s current listing is broader, covering later iPhones with A17 Pro or newer and iPads with an M-series or A17 Pro chip, provided they run iOS or iPadOS 17.4 or later.
What launched, and when?
Assassin’s Creed Mirage came to the App Store on June 6, 2024. Ubisoft Sofia developed the iPhone and iPad port, which is a locally installed mobile game—not a cloud-streamed or remote-play release.
The original Mirage launched for console and PC in October 2023. The Apple version brings Basim’s single-player adventure to compatible Apple hardware, including its ninth-century Baghdad setting, stealth-focused missions, parkour, assassination tools, exploration, and narrative progression. Ubisoft describes it as a complete version that mirrors the console and PC experience, but it should not be assumed to have identical resolution, frame rate, graphics settings, or performance on every device.

Ubisoft’s launch announcement confirmed the release date, free opening section, controller support, and one-time full-game unlock.
Supported iPhone and iPad models
Launch compatibility
At launch, Ubisoft listed:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPad Air models with an M1 chip or newer
- iPad Pro models with an M1 chip or newer
The iPhone requirement was driven by Apple’s A17 Pro chip. The base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus were not included in the original launch list because they use the A16 Bionic rather than A17 Pro.
Current compatibility
The current U.S. App Store listing states that the game requires iOS 17.4 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 17.4 or later on iPad. It lists support for iPhone models with A17 Pro or later and iPads with an M-series or A17 Pro chip.

Check the exact device shown in the current App Store listing before buying the game or an accessory. A recent-looking iPad with an older A-series chip is not automatically supported, and “M1 or newer” applies to the supported iPad families—not every Apple device with a large screen.

Hardware compatibility and storage are separate requirements. The listing reports the app at up to 23.7 GB. Leave additional free space for installation, updates, and temporary system files rather than treating 23.7 GB as the only space you need.
Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage free on iPhone and iPad?
No—the download is free, but the complete game is paid. You can install the app and play the opening section without purchasing the full version. A single in-app purchase unlocks the rest of the game; the U.S. App Store listing checked in August 2026 shows the full-game purchase at $29.99.
That is a one-time unlock, not a mandatory subscription. The App Store also shows optional cosmetic or content-related packs, so distinguish those add-ons from the purchase that unlocks the base game.

Prices, taxes, availability, and promotions vary by country and can change. Check the purchase screen in your regional App Store before paying.
What does the mobile version include?
The game follows Basim, who begins as a street thief before becoming involved with the Hidden Ones. Its core experience centers on stealth, investigation, parkour across Baghdad, assassination contracts, equipment, and story missions.
This is not a separate free-to-play spin-off or a short mobile companion game. The free section is a trial of a complete adaptation; the full campaign requires the in-app purchase. Platform-specific graphics optimization, touch controls, and device-dependent settings mean “complete game” does not mean technically identical presentation to the console or PC versions.
Current content
The current App Store listing also promotes Ubisoft’s Valley of Memory update, describing a new storyline, a new AlUla region, and more than six hours of additional content. This is a reminder that launch articles from June 2024 do not describe the entire current content package.

Before purchasing, check the current listing and Ubisoft’s update information for the exact availability of that content on your device and platform. Do not confuse free post-launch updates with paid cosmetic or equipment packs.
Touch controls and controllers
Mirage includes customizable touch controls and supports compatible external controllers. The App Store specifically lists compatible PlayStation, Xbox, and MFi controllers.
Touch controls make short sessions convenient, but a physical controller is likely to be more comfortable for extended play, combat, stealth, camera control, and precise movement. An iPhone-mounted controller such as the Backbone One is more portable than a separate Bluetooth controller, while an existing PlayStation or Xbox controller may be the better choice for iPad play. Confirm compatibility with your phone’s connector, Bluetooth setup, and controller model before buying an accessory.

Cross-save, cross-progression, and cross-ownership
Ubisoft announced cross-save, cross-progression, and cross-ownership features through Ubisoft Connect. In practical terms, cross-save and cross-progression are intended to let progress carry between supported platforms when the relevant accounts are linked.
You may need to sign in to or connect a Ubisoft account. These features should not be assumed to work automatically, and cross-progression is not the same as cross-purchase. Ubisoft’s announcement of cross-ownership for the mobile release does not justify assuming that owning the console or PC edition automatically unlocks the Apple version.
Account-linking rules and platform entitlements can change. Check Ubisoft Support for current requirements, and confirm which account is connected before starting a new save or making a purchase.

Does it require an internet connection?
The available launch information confirms that this is a native App Store download, but it does not establish a complete current offline-play policy. Do not promise unrestricted offline play.
Initial download, installation, account linking, entitlement verification, updates, and some services may require internet access. If you plan to play on a flight or elsewhere without connectivity, install the game, complete its setup, and test the free section under the conditions you expect to encounter before relying on it.
Practical limitations to expect
- Storage: The listing reports up to 23.7 GB, before allowing extra room for updates and installation overhead.
- Battery and heat: Sustained 3D gameplay can increase battery drain and device temperature, particularly on an iPhone.
- Variable performance: Results can differ with device generation, thermal conditions, graphics settings, storage state, and operating-system version. A supported chip does not guarantee identical frame rates or image quality across devices.
- Screen size: An iPhone is more portable but gives touch controls and environmental navigation less room than an iPad.
- Controller value: An iPad’s larger screen helps, but a controller can still substantially improve the experience.
- Reliability reports: App Store reviews include anecdotal reports of crashes and performance problems. They are useful warning signals, not proof that every supported device is unreliable.
How to download and start playing
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
- Confirm that Ubisoft is shown as the seller and review the current device and operating-system requirements.
- Check that you have substantially more free storage than the listed 23.7 GB requirement.
- Download the free app and launch the opening section.
- If the trial works well for you, use the listed in-app purchase to unlock the full game.
- Sign in to or link Ubisoft Connect if you want cross-progression.
- Pair a compatible PlayStation, Xbox, or MFi controller if you prefer physical controls.
If the app is unavailable or something goes wrong
- The app does not appear: Check the exact iPhone or iPad model, not only the OS version. Regional availability may also differ.
- Installation fails: Update to at least iOS/iPadOS 17.4 and free more space than the nominal download size.
- A purchase is missing: Use the App Store’s restore-purchase option and confirm that the same Apple account used for the purchase is active.
- Cross-save is missing: Check Ubisoft account linkage and verify that the intended platform account is connected.
- Crashes continue: Restart the device, update the app and operating system, reduce graphics settings if available, and contact Ubisoft Support rather than purchasing the game again.
Is the iPhone or iPad version worth it?

The mobile port makes the most sense for players who already have supported Apple hardware and value local, portable play. It is a weaker proposition if you would need to buy an expensive iPhone or iPad solely for one game, have little storage, or prioritize maximum graphical fidelity over convenience. Cloud gaming and remote play remain alternatives for some players, but they depend on internet quality and may require an existing console, PC, or subscription; they are not substitutes for the App Store version’s hardware requirements.
