To redeem a Meta Quest gift card, open the Meta Horizon app, sign in to the correct Meta account, then go to Menu → Wallet → + or Add to Wallet → Gift Card. Enter the code and tap Redeem.
The app was previously referred to as the Meta Quest app or Oculus app, so older guides may use those names. Current retailer instructions use Meta Horizon. Menu labels can vary slightly by app version, device, and region.

Before you redeem the card
- Install and update the Meta Horizon app on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Sign in to the Meta account that should receive the credit.
- Have the complete gift-card code available.
- Check that the card was purchased for the same country or store region as the recipient’s account.
- Keep the code private. Do not post it in a screenshot, comment, or support forum.
Redemption is account-specific. If you use the wrong Meta account, the credit may appear to be missing later.

Redeem a Meta Quest gift card in the app
- Open the Meta Horizon app on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Sign in to the intended Meta account.
- Open Menu.
- Tap Wallet.
- Tap the + button or Add to Wallet.
- Choose Gift Card or Add a gift card.
- Enter the gift-card code carefully.
- Tap Redeem.
- Wait for the confirmation that the code was accepted.
The documented path is:
Meta Horizon → Menu → Wallet → + / Add to Wallet → Gift Card → enter code → Redeem

Depending on your app version or region, you may see slightly different wording. The relevant options should still be located in the Wallet section.
Redeem the code in a browser
If the Gift Card option is missing or the app is not working, use Meta’s browser redemption page:
https://store.meta.com/redeem-code
- Open the redemption page.
- Sign in to the Meta account that should receive the credit.
- Enter the gift-card code.
- Click the arrow or submit button.
The browser method is useful when the app has a different menu layout, Wallet is unavailable, the app is outdated, or you prefer entering the code with a physical keyboard. Double-check the signed-in account before submitting the code.
How to confirm that the gift card worked
After redemption, return to Menu → Wallet in the app and look for the available wallet or Quest Cash balance. The exact balance label may vary, and it may not be displayed under a heading literally called “Gift Card Balance.”

You can also begin purchasing an eligible item in the Meta Quest Store and check whether the wallet credit is applied at checkout. Do not redeem the same code again if the first attempt produced a success message.
What the credit can buy
A Meta Quest gift card adds store credit to the recipient’s Meta Quest wallet. Retailer listings describe the credit as being for eligible Meta Quest Store content such as:
- Apps
- Games
- Experiences
- Other eligible Quest content or services
It is not normally cash, a bank-account deposit, or PayPal credit. Card terms generally restrict it from being used for physical Quest headsets, accessories, unrelated Meta purchases, cash withdrawal, transfer to another person, resale, or exchange. Check the terms attached to your specific card and region at the published gift-card terms.

If an eligible purchase costs more than the wallet balance, retailer instructions indicate that another accepted payment method may cover the remainder. Whether split payment is available depends on Meta checkout rules, applicable taxes, and the payment methods enabled for the account.

Gift card codes are different from game codes
Make sure the code is actually a Meta Quest gift card. Different Meta-related codes can use different redemption systems:

| Promotion or headset-bundle code | A promotional item with its own eligibility, expiration, or device requirements |
A game, subscription, promotion, or bundle code may be rejected if entered under Gift Card. Follow the instructions supplied with that code instead.
Troubleshooting redemption problems
| Problem | Likely cause | What to try |

| Gift Card is missing | App version, interface, account, or regional difference | Update Meta Horizon, force-close and reopen it, sign out and back in, then try the browser redemption page. |
| The code is rejected | Typing error, wrong code type, regional mismatch, or activation problem | Re-enter it manually and check the receipt, country, currency, and activation status. |
| The app says the code is invalid | The code may be incorrectly formatted, already redeemed, or not activated | Remove copied spaces or hyphens, check similar characters, try the browser, and contact the retailer if activation is in doubt. |
| The code worked but the balance is not visible | Wrong account, stale app, or a direct game code rather than a gift card | Sign out and back in, check Wallet in the browser, review the game library, and do not repeatedly redeem the code. |
| The card was bought in another country | Country or currency restrictions | Check the card’s market and use an account with the matching store region. Do not assume a card from one country works in another. |
If the Gift Card option does not appear
- Confirm that you are using the current Meta Horizon app rather than an obsolete Oculus app.
- Update the app through your phone’s app store.
- Force-close and reopen the app.
- Sign out and sign back in.
- Confirm the account and store region.
- Try https://store.meta.com/redeem-code.
- Reinstall the app only after confirming that you know your Meta account credentials.
Reinstalling is not guaranteed to fix the problem; the missing option can reflect an app-version, account, or region difference.
If the code is rejected
Check characters that are easy to confuse, including 0/O, 1/I, 5/S, and 8/B. Also check whether spaces or hyphens were copied into the field.

- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Confirm that:
- The code is for a Meta Quest gift card, not a game, promotion, subscription, or bundle.
- The code has not already been redeemed.
- The card matches the account’s country and currency region.
- The retailer activated the card correctly.
If the retailer never activated the card or delivered it incorrectly, contact the retailer first and keep the order number, receipt, delivery email, and transaction date. If the retailer confirms activation but Meta still rejects the code, contact Meta Support. Never share the full code with either a public forum or an unverified person.

Cards bought in another country
Country compatibility is a significant qualification. Gift-card availability and redemption can depend on the card’s country, currency, and the account’s store region. Use a card intended for the recipient’s country rather than assuming that a U.S., UK, Canadian, Brazilian, or other regional card is interchangeable.
Community reports suggest that some cards may be restricted to their purchase country, but those reports are anecdotal. Check the terms supplied with the specific card or ask the retailer before purchasing.

Redeem the card on the account that will actually purchase the content. Family or supervised-account settings may still affect purchase approval and payment authorization. Gift-card credit should not be treated as a way to bypass parental controls.
Cards bought from third parties
The retailer may be responsible for delivery delays, an incorrect denomination, non-activation, a previously redeemed code, or refund eligibility. Preserve all purchase records while the issue is investigated.
Which redemption method should you use?

For most phone users, the Meta Horizon app is the simplest option. If Wallet or Gift Card is unavailable, switch to the browser page instead of repeatedly retrying the same app flow.
