The AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB is the best overall choice under Rs. 30,000 for 1080p gaming in Pakistan—provided it is the full 2304-stream-processor model, passes testing, and comes with a reasonable return period. The RX 590 GME can be faster, while the GTX 1060 3GB is the better low-power option. The GTX 970 and RX 570 are worthwhile mainly when they are substantially cheaper.
This is realistically a used-GPU market, not a shortlist of equivalent new graphics cards. Condition, testing, warranty, power requirements and the exact model matter as much as the name printed on the box.
What to expect from a Rs. 30,000 GPU
At this budget, Pakistani buyers will mostly encounter used, pulled-out, refurbished or previously mined cards. Newer cards such as the RX 6600, RTX 3060, RX 7600 and RTX 4060 generally sit above this ceiling, although prices vary by seller, city, condition and availability. Check current listings rather than assuming any fixed nationwide price; for example, used-card listings from Pakistani retailers can change quickly.

For esports games, all five cards can be usable at 1080p if the processor and memory are adequate. Older AAA games may run at medium or high settings. Newer demanding games often require low or medium settings, reduced textures and upscaling. Do not interpret this list as a promise of 60 frames per second in every game: results depend on the CPU, RAM, drivers, game patch and chosen settings.
Ray tracing should not influence a purchase at this price. These are legacy architectures with much weaker feature support and efficiency than modern GPUs.

1. AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB: best overall
The RX 580 8GB offers the strongest balance of conventional 1080p performance, memory capacity and availability in this price range. Its 8GB of GDDR5 on a 256-bit interface gives modern games more texture headroom than the 3GB and 4GB alternatives.
It is a good fit for 1080p low-to-medium gaming, especially when the buyer is prepared to lower textures or use an upscaler in demanding releases. The 8GB capacity does not make it a modern GPU, however. The card is based on an old architecture, lacks modern ray-tracing capability and consumes considerably more power than newer cards offering similar performance.
Check for the RX 580 2048SP trap
Many cards sold as “RX 580” are actually the RX 580 2048SP. That cut-down model has 2,048 stream processors and is effectively closer to an RX 570-class product. A full RX 580 normally has 2,304 stream processors.
Install GPU-Z before paying and verify the GPU name, device ID, stream-processor count, memory size, memory type, bus width and BIOS information. Do not pay full RX 580 money for a 2048SP card simply because the seller’s sticker says “580”.
Because many examples are several years old, inspect the fans, heatsink, PCB and connectors. Mining history is a risk in the used market, not proof that every RX 580 was mined on. A quality PSU, adequate airflow and a working PCIe power connector are essential.
Buy it when: it is the 2304SP model, costs around Rs. 26,000–30,000, passes a sustained game test and has a usable return period.
2. AMD Radeon RX 590 GME: faster, but hotter
The RX 590 GME is an aggressively clocked Polaris-based 8GB card that can be somewhat faster than an RX 580. The exact advantage varies with the model’s clock profile, cooling and the game, so it should not be treated as automatically 10% faster in every title.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
Its main problem is efficiency. The RX 590 GME can draw around 200W or more depending on the board design, creating extra heat, fan noise and PSU demand. A small performance improvement is not worth a large price premium or a card with poor cooling.

The “GME” label can also confuse buyers. Verify the exact GPU with GPU-Z, check the BIOS and confirm the card’s power connectors. Test it long enough for heat-related instability to appear.
Buy it when: a clean, well-cooled RX 590 GME costs about the same as a good RX 580 and your PSU and case can handle it. Otherwise, choose the RX 580.
3. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB: the efficient esports pick
The GTX 1060 3GB uses substantially less power than the RX 580 and RX 590, making it easier to cool and more suitable for an older system with a modest but reputable PSU. It remains useful for esports and older DirectX 11 games.
Its 3GB of VRAM is the decisive limitation. Modern games may require low textures, reduced effects and other compromises, particularly in large or visually demanding environments. The 3GB model also has fewer shader resources than the 6GB GTX 1060, so it should not be described as a general-purpose modern AAA card.
NVIDIA’s software and video-encoding ecosystem may appeal to some streamers, but the card’s age and memory capacity limit its long-term usefulness. Confirm that the particular model has the outputs and PCIe power arrangement your system needs.
Buy it when: you mainly play esports or older games, power consumption matters, and the price is clearly attractive. Do not choose it over an equally priced, tested 8GB RX 580 for a broad modern-game library.
4. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970: a temporary stopgap
The GTX 970 can still handle older games and competitive titles at 1080p, but it is the oldest-feeling recommendation here. Its nominal 4GB memory is arranged as a faster 3.5GB segment plus a slower 0.5GB segment, rather than as a conventional fully equal 4GB pool.
That unusual memory design is not automatically a deal-breaker for older games, but it reduces the card’s appeal when newer titles are involved. Maxwell is also an ageing architecture without modern ray-tracing or current-generation upscaling features.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUsed examples can have worn fans, degraded thermal pads, tired capacitors or a history of heavy use. Inspect the card carefully and test it under load. The GTX 970 only makes sense when it is substantially cheaper than the RX 580 and you need a temporary upgrade.

Buy it when: the price is low, the card is fully tested, and your library is dominated by older or competitive games. Otherwise, save for a better option.
5. AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB: the cheapest sensible choice
The RX 570 4GB is the entry-level pick when the budget is closer to Rs. 20,000–24,000. It can provide playable 1080p performance in many older games at low or medium settings and is generally more useful than an overpriced GTX 1050 Ti when both cost similar amounts.
The performance gap to the RX 580 is meaningful, while 4GB of VRAM is increasingly restrictive in demanding releases. As with the other Polaris cards, used-market mining history, fan wear and thermal condition deserve close attention.

Do not buy an RX 570 merely because it is available under Rs. 30,000. If an RX 580 8GB is only a little more expensive and passes the same checks, the RX 580 is the better long-term value.
Buy it when: saving money is more important than maximum performance and it is materially cheaper than a tested RX 580.
Which card should you buy?
- Best overall: RX 580 8GB with 2,304 stream processors, if tested and priced around Rs. 30,000 or less.
- Best for modern games within this shortlist: RX 580 8GB, mainly because its 8GB capacity provides more texture headroom.
- Fastest option here: RX 590 GME, but only when its extra performance does not bring a meaningful price, heat or reliability penalty.
- Best low-power option: GTX 1060 3GB for esports and older games, not new AAA gaming.
- Best temporary bargain: GTX 970, only at a substantially lower price.
- Best under Rs. 25,000: RX 570 4GB, provided it is healthy and clearly cheaper than an RX 580.
Prioritise purchases in this order: target-game performance, card condition and warranty, VRAM capacity, PSU and cooling requirements, driver and feature support, then price. VRAM matters, but it does not determine performance by itself; an 8GB card is not automatically faster than every 4GB card.

Ask the seller the right questions
- What is the exact model and memory capacity?
- Has the card been used for mining?
- Has it been repaired, reflowed, repasted or had its fans replaced?
- Is there a written testing or return period?
- Do all display outputs work?
- Are the original cooler, fans, backplate and screws intact?
Prefer a seller who allows inspection and avoids advance payment for an unverified marketplace listing. A short written return period is particularly valuable for a card with no manufacturer warranty.
Verify the specifications
Use GPU-Z or an equivalent hardware utility to check:
- GPU name and device ID.
- Stream-processor or CUDA-core information where reported.
- VRAM capacity and memory type.
- Memory bus width.
- BIOS information.
- PCIe link width and generation.
This step can expose an RX 580 2048SP being sold as a full RX 580, a BIOS mismatch or a card whose memory capacity does not match the seller’s description.
Run a real game, not only FurMark
Run a demanding game for at least 10–15 minutes, or use a benchmark such as Unigine Superposition or 3DMark where available. A VRAM test is useful if the seller permits it. Test multiple display outputs if you need more than one monitor.

Look for coloured squares, flashing polygons, texture corruption, driver crashes, black screens, sudden clock drops, fan wobble, grinding noises and abnormal temperature or fan behaviour. FurMark can reveal a cooling problem, but passing FurMark alone does not prove that the VRAM is healthy or that the card will behave properly in games.
Inspect the physical card
Check for corrosion, a repaired PCB, missing screws, damaged connectors, bent brackets, oil or residue around the fans, and heavy dust packed into the heatsink. Do not confuse ordinary dust with proof of mining use, but treat a card with obvious repair work or unexplained physical damage as high risk.
PSU, case and CPU compatibility
The RX 580, RX 590 GME and RX 570 need more power than the GTX 1060 and typically require an external PCIe connector. Use a reputable PSU with sufficient 12V output and the correct connector. Do not trust a generic unit that advertises an implausibly high wattage, and do not treat “500W” as a universal requirement: the correct capacity depends on the CPU, card model, overclocking and PSU quality.
Confirm that the card fits your case and that the power cables are long enough. A dual- or triple-fan card may block adjacent slots or have clearance problems in a compact case.
At 1080p, especially in esports games, the CPU can become the performance limit. Check your processor generation, core count, dual-channel RAM and monitor refresh rate. A GPU upgrade will not automatically produce high frame rates if the CPU is already limiting the system.

GTX 1050 Ti at RX 570 or RX 580 money
The GTX 1050 Ti’s low power draw and lack of an external connector can be useful in a constrained OEM system, but it is a poor gaming deal when an RX 570 or RX 580 is available for similar money and your PSU can support it. Do not pay an inflated price simply to avoid installing a PCIe power cable.
2GB cards marketed as modern 1080p GPUs
A 2GB card can still serve for display output, office use, very old games or lightweight esports. It does not belong in a general modern 1080p shortlist. Be especially cautious of listings that use “gaming” language without clearly identifying the memory capacity.
Suspiciously cheap cards
A price far below the local market can indicate missing testing, a repaired PCB, a BIOS problem, counterfeit specifications, failing VRAM or no return option. Ask for the serial number, inspect the card in person and require a real load test before paying.
Should you save for a newer GPU?
If you can increase the budget substantially, a newer 8GB card such as the RX 6600, RX 7600 or RTX 4060 is a more durable choice because of better efficiency, media features, driver support and modern upscaling ecosystems. AMD positions the RX 7600 specifically for modern 1080p gaming; it includes 8GB GDDR6, AV1 encoding and ray accelerators, but it is not normally a strict Rs. 30,000 option in Pakistan.
