Yes: Manli was associated with a real GeForce RTX 4090 design using a near-two-slot blower cooler. Reported at about 268 × 111 × 38 mm, it kept the RTX 4090’s 450-watt power target in a much slimmer package than NVIDIA’s three-slot Founders Edition. Later enthusiast testing suggested it could deliver RTX 4090-class benchmark performance—but at the cost of a blower reportedly spinning around 5,200 RPM under heavy load. It was a niche answer to a real space problem, not a quiet, compact replacement for ordinary gaming cards.
What emerged in 2022
On November 4, 2022, reports identified a Manli GeForce RTX 4090 with a blower-style cooler. Its reported dimensions—approximately 268 mm long, 111 mm high and 38 mm thick—made it close to a two-slot card, though 38 mm is not exactly two standard 20.32 mm expansion-slot widths. The measurements and design were reported by HotHardware.
A blower uses a radial fan to draw air into the card and drive it through the heatsink toward the rear I/O bracket. That sends more of the GPU’s heated air out of the chassis. Most gaming graphics cards instead use axial fans that move air through an open heatsink, releasing much of the heat back into the case.

Why a slim RTX 4090 was surprising
The RTX 4090 is a 450 W graphics card. NVIDIA’s Founders Edition is a three-slot design measuring 304 × 137 × 61 mm, and NVIDIA recommends an 850 W system power supply. Those are Founders Edition figures, not dimensions that apply to every board-partner card, but they show the scale of cooling and space commonly associated with the GPU. NVIDIA lists the card’s 16,384 CUDA cores, 24 GB of GDDR6X memory, 2.52 GHz boost clock and other specifications on its RTX 4090 product page.
The Manli-style design was not remarkable simply because it was short or slim. Its reported 450 W power target meant the compact cooler still had to dissipate roughly the heat of a full-power RTX 4090. Less heatsink volume generally leaves a blower less thermal and acoustic headroom: it may need to run faster and louder to move enough air.

Did it perform like a full RTX 4090?
In a later enthusiast test of an unbranded blower RTX 4090, the card scored 35,908 in 3DMark Time Spy’s graphics test at stock settings and 36,956 after a modest GPU and memory overclock. The report also described reference-like clocks and a 450 W power limit. Those results support the view that the tested sample was not simply a heavily reduced-power novelty; they do not establish that every card of this design performs identically.

That figure helps explain the “PTSD” joke in the original headline: the card could produce a strong benchmark result, but its cooling solution reportedly did so with extreme fan speed. The testing was enthusiast-run, not a standardized laboratory review, and a short benchmark score cannot establish sustained performance, temperatures across all workloads, long-term reliability or noise in every case. See HotHardware’s report on the testing.

Who might want a blower card?
A blower’s main advantage is packaging, not inherently lower temperatures. Rear exhaust can help in dense systems where open-air cards would dump heat between closely spaced GPUs. That can make this kind of design relevant to a tightly packed workstation, rackmount system, or specialized rendering and compute machine—provided the chassis has enough intake and exhaust airflow to carry the heat away.
It is usually a poor choice for a typical gaming PC if there is room for a conventional, larger cooler. A quieter open-air RTX 4090 is generally the more comfortable option for a system near its user. A blower also cannot compensate for weak case ventilation: if hot exhaust cannot leave the chassis, heat can accumulate and undermine cooling.

Fit, power and installation checks
“Near-two-slot” does not mean universally compatible. Check the exact card’s dimensions, including its backplate and any protrusions; motherboard slot spacing; clearance from neighboring cards; and whether the blower intake will be obstructed. Length and height still matter, as does room for the power cable at the card’s edge. The reported 268 mm length is not proof that it will clear a front radiator or fit every compact case.
Multiple 450 W cards can overwhelm case airflow, PSU capacity and room ventilation even when their coolers exhaust to the rear. Confirm the system’s power budget and the particular card’s requirements rather than relying on slot thickness as a proxy for easy installation.

The RTX 4090’s 16-pin power connection is a separate consideration from the blower cooler. NVIDIA’s adapter guidance calls for at least three PCIe eight-pin connectors through the supplied adapter, or a 450 W-or-greater PCIe Gen 5 cable. Follow the instructions for the specific card and power supply, seat the connector fully, and leave cable clearance so the plug is not forced sharply at the socket. Nothing in the available reporting establishes that this cooler caused power-connector failures.
What the design does—and does not—prove
The card demonstrates that an RTX 4090-class GPU could be packaged in a much slimmer blower design. It does not prove that a 450 W GPU can be cooled quietly in two slots, that the design was widely sold, or that NVIDIA manufactured or broadly endorsed it as a reference retail card. A reported NVIDIA subvendor ID in a later sample is not, by itself, conclusive evidence of who made or distributed that hardware.
Nor does the design settle speculation about why blower RTX 3090 cards were uncommon or whether NVIDIA wanted to steer buyers toward professional products. Those explanations have been discussed as industry theories, not established here as NVIDIA policy.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe practical conclusion is straightforward: the Manli-associated blower RTX 4090 was a credible niche solution for systems where card thickness and rear exhaust mattered more than quiet operation. Its reported performance showed what the compact design could do; the fan speed showed why most RTX 4090s arrived with much larger coolers.
