No. Xbox 360 consoles do not have native Bluetooth. Official Xbox 360 wireless controllers and certain accessories use Microsoft’s proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless system instead. So Bluetooth controllers and earbuds cannot pair directly with the console, and a generic USB Bluetooth adapter is not a reliable way to add that ability.
The right alternative depends on whether you want a controller, game audio, or two-way voice chat.
Xbox 360 wireless is not Bluetooth
Microsoft describes the Xbox 360 wireless controller as using proprietary 2.4 GHz technology, with an approximate range of up to 30 feet (9 meters) in suitable conditions. That is a wireless connection, but it is not Bluetooth. Walls, other devices and radio interference can reduce the range. Microsoft’s controller technical data identifies the proprietary connection.

The practical answer applies across the Xbox 360 family: the original console, Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E. Built-in or adapter-based Wi-Fi on a particular setup does not mean that model has Bluetooth.

Can you connect a Bluetooth controller?
Not directly. An official Xbox 360 wireless controller connects through the console’s proprietary wireless system, not Bluetooth. A wired Xbox 360-compatible controller connects by USB. A controller that works with a phone or PC over Bluetooth is not automatically compatible with an Xbox 360.
Do not assume a newer Xbox One or Xbox Series controller will work either. Microsoft lists its current Xbox Wireless Controller for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, among other devices, but not Xbox 360. Its Bluetooth support is for compatible PCs and mobile devices; Xbox consoles use Xbox Wireless. Microsoft’s compatibility information does not list Xbox 360.

If you need a replacement, choose a controller whose listing explicitly says it is Xbox 360-compatible. A compatible wired controller is a straightforward option; an official Xbox 360 wireless controller is the natural wireless choice. Legacy products are often sold used, so check condition and confirm the exact model rather than relying on a vague “Xbox wireless” description.

Not directly. Xbox 360 has no general Bluetooth audio-pairing interface. You can send game audio to Bluetooth headphones indirectly if another part of your setup can transmit it:

- Pair the headphones with a television, AV receiver or soundbar that supports Bluetooth audio transmission.
- Connect an external Bluetooth transmitter to a compatible TV or receiver output, such as a headphone jack, analog audio output or optical output.
Check the available outputs on your specific TV, receiver and console before choosing a transmitter. This workaround is mainly for listening to game audio. It can introduce delay, and it does not necessarily carry microphone audio or Xbox Live voice chat. A simple transmitter sends audio outward; it does not turn the console into a Bluetooth headset host.
What does “Xbox 360 Wireless Headset with Bluetooth” mean?
The name refers to Bluetooth capability in the headset, not native Bluetooth in the console. Microsoft’s documentation describes the headset’s Xbox 360 wireless operation separately from its Bluetooth functionality for compatible external devices, such as a phone. The headset had Bluetooth capability, but the Xbox 360 console itself did not become a Bluetooth host. Connecting a Bluetooth-capable accessory to a phone is not the same as pairing the console with a phone.
Will a USB Bluetooth dongle work?
A generic USB Bluetooth adapter is not a supported or reliable way to add Bluetooth pairing to an Xbox 360. Such adapters typically depend on a host system with Bluetooth drivers and software support; plugging one into the console’s USB port does not provide that PC-style Bluetooth stack.

Do not confuse a Bluetooth dongle with the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. That receiver is designed to connect Xbox 360 wireless controllers to a Windows PC. It is a proprietary Xbox 360 accessory, not a Bluetooth adapter, and it is not a way to add Bluetooth to the console.
Choose an alternative by what you need

One more wireless distinction: interference
Bluetooth devices can interfere with Xbox 360 wireless-controller operation because both may use the 2.4 GHz band. Microsoft’s documentation notes potential interference from other 2.4 GHz equipment, including Bluetooth headsets. That does not mean the Xbox 360 controller uses Bluetooth; it means separate wireless systems can compete for radio space. If a controller connection is unreliable, move other wireless devices away or reduce nearby interference.
