Asus did not unveil one single RTX 5060 laptop at Computex. On May 19, 2025, it announced RTX 5060 configurations across its TUF Gaming, ROG Strix and ROG Zephyrus families, expanding Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, DLSS 4 and GDDR7 memory into more laptop price tiers. Nvidia said RTX 5060 laptops from multiple manufacturers would start at $1,099 in the US, but that was a launch-price claim—not a current August 2026 street price.

The important qualification is that an “RTX 5060 laptop” is not a uniform performance class. Power limits, cooling, processor, memory and display resolution can make a 115-watt Strix substantially different from a thinner, lower-power Zephyrus or TUF A14.

What Asus announced at Computex 2025

Asus’s announcement, published May 20, covered models introduced around the May 19 launch of Nvidia’s RTX 5060 laptop rollout. The range included the TUF Gaming A14, A16, F16 and A18, ROG Strix G16 and G18, and ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16. Nvidia’s broader launch also included laptops from MSI, Razer, Acer, Lenovo and other manufacturers, so this was not an Asus-only GPU debut.

Asus used the compact TUF Gaming A14 as its clearest Computex example: a 14-inch machine combining an RTX 5060 with a high-refresh 2.5K display in a relatively portable chassis.

The TUF Gaming A14: the most revealing model

The 2025 TUF Gaming A14 weighs 1.46kg and is listed at 1.69cm at its minimum thickness. Its cited FA401KM configuration pairs an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with an RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, 8GB of GDDR7, 16GB of onboard LPDDR5X-7500 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The 14-inch panel runs at 2560×1600 and 165Hz, with G-Sync, a MUX switch and Advanced Optimus.

Asus describes up to 110W TGP in Manual Mode on the product page; the technical specification for the FA401KM lists 105W, made up of 90W plus 15W Dynamic Boost. That difference illustrates why buyers should check the exact SKU rather than rely on a family name.

The screen is both a strength and a constraint. A 2560×1600 panel is sharper than the 1920×1200 displays used by some larger TUF models, but it also pushes many more pixels. Modern games may need DLSS Super Resolution, reduced ray tracing, a lower render resolution or a frame-rate cap to make full use of 165Hz. A 165Hz panel does not mean every demanding game will run at 165 frames per second at native resolution.

The A14’s 16GB memory is onboard rather than a conventional removable SO-DIMM configuration, limiting future RAM upgrades. Asus lists two M.2 storage slots, so storage expansion is more flexible. That combination makes the A14 attractive for travel, school, work and creative applications, but less suitable for buyers who want maximum sustained wattage or extensive memory headroom.

What RTX 5060 adds

The mobile RTX 5060 is based on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture and, in the Asus configurations cited here, includes 8GB of GDDR7. The platform supports DLSS 4, including Multi Frame Generation, plus ray-tracing features such as Ray Reconstruction and Nvidia Reflex. Selected systems also carry Nvidia Studio validation for creator workloads.

Nvidia says RTX 5060 laptops can be more than twice as fast as previous-generation laptops in its testing. That statement should be read as a manufacturer claim tied to particular games, settings, comparisons and DLSS 4 features—not as a universal result for every laptop or title. Multi Frame Generation creates additional displayed frames; it does not provide the same gain as doubling traditionally rendered frames, and latency and image quality depend on the game and base frame rate.

Eight gigabytes of VRAM is generally workable for 1080p and many 1600p scenarios, but high texture settings, heavy ray tracing and future games can put more pressure on that capacity. Buyers should treat it as a specification to monitor, not proof of a guaranteed limitation.

Power limits matter more than the badge

Asus’s power table lists materially different RTX 5060 envelopes. The A14 is around 105–110W depending on the cited configuration and mode; a Zephyrus G14 is listed at up to 100W; a Zephyrus G16 reaches roughly 105–110W in different configurations; and Strix G16/G18 plus TUF A16, F16 and A18 models can reach 115W. The Strix G16 specification explicitly lists up to 115W including Dynamic Boost.

  • DYNAMIC DISPLAY — Immerse yourself in smooth visuals with a FHD+ 165Hz display, ideal for gaming, content creation, and entertainment. Featuring a new AGLR film that significantly reduces glare while enhancing contrast, Dolby Vision HDR brings visuals to life with richer, brighter, and more vivid colors. Every image stays sharp and punchy — even from wide viewing angles, so the picture looks just as good off-center as it does straight on.
  • ROG INTELLIGENT COOLING - ROG’s advanced thermals keep your system cool, quiet and comfortable. State of the art cooling equals best in class performance. Featuring an end-to-end vapor chamber, tri-fan technology and Conductonaut extreme liquid metal applied to the chipset delivers fast gameplay.
  • CUSTOMIZABLE FULL-SURROUND RGB LIGHTBAR - Showcase your style with a 360° RGB light bar that syncs with your keyboard and ROG peripherals. In professional settings, Stealth Mode turns off all lighting for a sleek, refined look.

A higher maximum can improve sustained performance, but only when the cooling system, firmware and fan profile can maintain it. Maximum figures may require AC power and a performance or manual mode. A thin Zephyrus and a larger Strix should therefore never be compared as though their RTX 5060 GPUs were identical.

Which Asus model fits which buyer?

  • Choose the TUF A14 for portability, a sharp 165Hz display and occasional creative or productivity work. Avoid it if upgradeable RAM or the highest sustained GPU power is essential.
  • Choose the TUF A16 or F16 for a larger 16-inch gaming workspace, value and a better chance of sustaining higher power. They are less convenient for frequent travel and generally less premium in materials and displays.
  • Choose the Strix G16 or G18 when plugged-in gaming performance is the priority and weight is secondary. These are desktop-replacement-style choices, not the discreet travel options.
  • Choose the Zephyrus G14 or G16 for a premium thin-and-light design, OLED options and a machine that can cover work as well as gaming. The premium price and lower potential power ceiling reduce their frames-per-dollar appeal.

What this launch does—and does not—prove

Asus broadened access to Blackwell-era features and GDDR7 across a substantial range of laptops. That makes the RTX 5060 a potentially strong mid-range option, especially when DLSS 4 is supported and the price is close to the launch market’s $1,099 floor.

It does not prove that every RTX 5060 laptop doubles the performance of an RTX 4060 system, that every model can drive its native high-refresh display in demanding games, or that a premium Zephyrus configuration is a budget laptop. A discounted, high-wattage RTX 4060 machine can remain competitive; deciding between generations requires independent benchmarks and live pricing.

Check these specifications before buying

  • Exact model and regional SKU.
  • GPU wattage, Dynamic Boost and the mode needed to reach the maximum.
  • CPU model and cooling design.
  • RAM capacity and whether it is upgradeable.
  • Display resolution, refresh rate and adaptive-sync support.
  • Battery capacity, included charger and AC-only performance modes.
  • SSD slot count, warranty and return policy.

Asus model names and configurations vary by country. The $1,099 figure is Nvidia’s May 19, 2025 launch starting-price claim, and the $1,799.99 Zephyrus G14 figure is a listed launch MSRP; neither should be treated as an August 2026 purchase price without checking the live listing.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Computex 2025 showed Asus putting RTX 5060 technology into nearly every major laptop role, from the 1.46kg TUF A14 to the higher-power Strix G16/G18. The launch raised the mid-range feature ceiling, but the best buy depends on the exact laptop’s wattage, cooling, screen and upgrade options—not the RTX 5060 label alone.
