There is no single fix for every Path of Titans problem described as “lag.” Choppy camera movement usually points to PC performance; smooth visuals with teleporting dinosaurs or delayed attacks points more toward network or server trouble. Connection errors, missing servers, launcher failures, and Easy Anti-Cheat problems need their own checks. Identify which symptom you have, then try the least disruptive fix first.
Identify what kind of lag you have

FPS, ping, and packet loss are different things. A PC can render smoothly while the connection is unstable, or struggle to render frames while the network is fine. Lowering graphics settings does not fix a server outage, and a faster internet plan does not fix a GPU bottleneck.
Try these low-risk checks first
- Update the game. Open the Alderon Games Launcher and select check for updates at the bottom-left if it is available. Confirm the installed game version in the launcher under your username and social-media icons, then restart the launcher and game. An outdated client can cause multiplayer compatibility problems. See Alderon’s PC support FAQ.
- Check whether it is server-wide. Ask other players on the same server, try another server or region if available, and check Alderon’s official announcements. The official Path of Titans Discord is another place to alert moderators about a suspected official-server crash.
- Restart the game and network equipment. Restart the launcher and game, then restart your modem and router if multiplayer is unstable.
- Reduce network competition. Pause downloads, cloud sync, streaming, torrents, and other high-bandwidth activity on the same connection.
- Test with Ethernet if possible. A wired connection helps rule out Wi-Fi interference and signal instability. It cannot repair a distant or overloaded game server.
Alderon says that an official matchmaking server going offline or crashing can produce a connection-loss error. If several players have the same problem at once, repeatedly reinstalling the game or changing graphics settings is unlikely to help. See Alderon’s launcher errors and issues guide.
If FPS is low or the game stutters
Check hardware, memory, and the game’s GPU
Alderon’s current hardware guidance lists 16 GB of RAM as the minimum and 32 GB as recommended. The company warns that multitasking with 16 GB can cause performance issues, strongly recommends a dedicated graphics card, and notes that requirements may change while the game is in active development. These are support requirements, not a promise of a particular frame rate. Check the current hardware compatibility page for Alderon’s full guidance.

On a desktop, verify that the monitor is connected to the dedicated graphics card rather than the motherboard’s video output. Alderon lists the motherboard connection as a possible cause of poor performance or crashes. Shut down before moving the cable, then relaunch the game and compare performance.
During a slowdown, check GPU, CPU, RAM, and video-memory use, along with temperatures and clock speeds. High temperatures can reduce performance through thermal throttling. Close browsers, recording software, overlays, RGB utilities, and unnecessary launchers to see whether one is competing for resources.
Reduce the heaviest graphics demands
As a practical troubleshooting test—not a guaranteed Alderon fix—lower resolution or resolution scale, shadows, view distance, effects, and foliage or environmental detail. Use a reasonable FPS cap rather than leaving the game to chase an unstable maximum. Change a few settings at a time so you can tell which change affects smoothness.

Update the graphics driver using the GPU manufacturer’s official software. Disable overlays such as Discord, Xbox Game Bar, and GPU overlays for a test. An SSD and sufficient free drive space can help with loading-related hitching, but neither will resolve network delay.
If performance worsened immediately after a patch, record the game version and date. A new build can change performance, so do not assume the computer is at fault or treat an old workaround as permanent.
If dinosaurs teleport or attacks feel delayed
Separate Wi-Fi trouble from server trouble
- Ethernet improves the issue: Wi-Fi interference, weak signal, or local network congestion is more likely.
- Only one server or region is affected: A server or network route issue is more likely than a graphics setting.
- Other online games lag too: Investigate the wider internet connection or home network.
- Only Path of Titans is affected: Check the game build, launcher, firewall, EAC, and Alderon service reports.
- Several players on one server report the same symptoms: The server may be struggling; report it and try another server if possible.
A speed test showing a high download rate does not prove the connection has stable latency or no packet loss. If possible, test Ethernet, pause other network traffic, and compare a different server before changing settings or buying equipment. A VPN is not a default fix: it may change routing, but it can also increase latency.

If multiplayer is missing or connection errors appear
Connection lost from Official Matchmaking server
This may happen when an official matchmaking server goes offline or crashes, though a local connection problem can also interrupt play. Check official announcements and ask other players whether they were disconnected. If the issue is isolated to your connection, use the network checks above and test whether security software is interfering.

ENOTFOUND
Alderon identifies DNS or internet problems as possible causes. Restart your network equipment, check whether other websites and online games work, and test for firewall or antivirus interference. DNS changes are not a general remedy for FPS drops or in-game latency.
ETIMEDOUT
Alderon associates interrupted login connections with this error. Run the launcher’s Diagnostic Tool, copy the result code, and include it in a support request.

Servers are missing
First update the launcher and game, then confirm the installed version in the launcher. Check Alderon’s official announcements for a service issue. If the problem affects a community server but not official matchmaking—or vice versa—the two problems may have different causes.

Confirm that Windows is up to date and that your firewall or antivirus is not blocking the launcher. You can briefly test whether security software is responsible, but re-enable protection afterward and add the launcher or game to its allowlist if appropriate. Do not leave antivirus or firewall protection disabled.

For a launcher that repeatedly loops or restarts, Alderon’s listed recovery procedure is to uninstall the Alderon Games Launcher through Windows’ installed-apps interface, restart the PC, download the latest installer from Alderon Games, and reinstall it. This repairs the launcher, not a server outage or an unrelated performance bottleneck.

Alderon’s error guide also describes EPERM: Operation not permitted after a prior administrator launch. Its instructions involve closing the launcher and removing the specified game directory under C:Program FilesAlderon Games before reopening it. Because removing a directory is more destructive than restarting or updating, follow Alderon’s current directions carefully; if the instructions do not clearly identify what to remove, contact support rather than deleting other game files.
If Easy Anti-Cheat stops the game from starting
- Open Alderon’s Easy Anti-Cheat troubleshooting guide and follow the steps that match your error.
- Use its connection and router checks, then follow the guide’s Scan & Repair procedure where applicable.
- Use its Windows system-file repair instructions only when they apply to your problem.
- If the official steps fail, contact Alderon Support or Easy Anti-Cheat support with the exact error.
Do not permanently disable EAC, antivirus, or Windows security features to get into the game.
Check Windows support and hardware requirements
Alderon recommends Windows 11 24H2. Its hardware compatibility page says Windows 10 support was discontinued on October 14, 2025; the game may still launch on Windows 10, but Alderon no longer provides testing or support for problems resulting from that operating system. The same page lists 16 GB RAM as the minimum, 32 GB as recommended, and strongly recommends a dedicated GPU. Hardware below the listed minimums may run the game, but is not guaranteed or supported. Because Path of Titans remains in active development, requirements can change.
For Linux, Alderon lists SteamOS on official Valve hardware and Ubuntu 22.04 or later. Consult its hardware compatibility guidance for the current support boundaries.
When to contact Alderon Support
Escalate a reproducible problem when the game and launcher are updated, your PC meets Alderon’s minimum requirements, and the issue persists on Ethernet or another network. Contact support sooner for a crash, a whole-PC freeze, or an EAC error. If a suspected server outage appears to have ended but you still cannot connect, include that detail.
Use Alderon’s game issues and support page. Include enough information to distinguish a local fault from a server or version issue:
