Yes—but not as a day-one standard Game Pass release. EA SPORTS College Football 26 entered the EA Play Play List on February 19, 2026. Because EA Play is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, eligible members can play the full game without buying it separately. It is not included with every Game Pass tier.
Is College Football 26 included with Xbox Game Pass?
It is available through the EA Play catalog included in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. That is different from Microsoft launching the game directly in the regular Game Pass library on release day. The Xbox Store currently identifies the game as included with EA Play.
The game originally launched on Xbox on July 10, 2025. Before its catalog addition, EA Play members received a limited 10-hour trial; the February 2026 Play List release is full-game access rather than that trial. Progress from a trial carries over if you later purchase the game, according to EA’s July 2025 announcement.

So “Game Pass subscribers get the game” is too broad. The reliable wording is Ultimate and PC Game Pass members get it through EA Play.

When did it join Game Pass?
- July 10, 2025: Xbox release date.
- February 19, 2026: Date Xbox announced for the EA Play Play List addition.
It was therefore not a day-one Game Pass title. EA’s sports releases commonly reach EA Play after launch, and this game followed that model.
Can you play it through Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Yes. The Xbox Store listing marks College Football 26 as playable through Xbox Cloud Gaming for eligible subscribers. Cloud access still requires a plan that includes cloud gaming—typically Game Pass Ultimate—and availability can vary by region, service demand, connection quality and latency.

Installed console play is supported on Xbox Series X|S. The listing does not show an Xbox One version, so do not expect the Game Pass entitlement to make the game run natively on Xbox One. The listing also notes Xbox Series optimization, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, 60 fps+, ray tracing, online multiplayer and cross-platform multiplayer.
Is the complete game included, or just a trial?
For a qualifying EA Play entitlement, the catalog listing is the full base game. The earlier 10-hour trial was a separate, pre-Play-List benefit and should not be confused with current catalog access.

“Full game” does not mean every paid item is free. College Football Points, Ultimate Team packs, premium add-ons, deluxe-edition bonuses and other paid content remain separate purchases. EA Play members receive a 10% discount on eligible EA digital purchases, including the game, points and downloadable content, as described by Xbox Wire. Ultimate Team also contains in-app purchases, including random items.
Should you use Game Pass or buy the game?
Use Game Pass Ultimate if you already have it
This is the simplest choice for an Xbox Series X|S player who wants the game, cloud play, console online multiplayer and the broader Game Pass library. Buying a second copy is unnecessary unless you expect to cancel or downgrade the subscription and want independent ownership.

Choose PC Game Pass for PC play
PC Game Pass is the relevant subscription route. During installation, you may need the EA app and a correctly linked EA account; confirm your hardware meets the game’s requirements and that the title is available in your region. A console-only Game Pass plan does not automatically provide PC access.
Consider standalone EA Play for an EA-focused library
EA Play can make sense if you mainly want EA games and do not need the wider Game Pass catalog. Its price changes, so check the official EA Play page. On its own, EA Play should not be treated as a replacement for Xbox console online multiplayer or cloud-gaming entitlements.

Buy it for long-term ownership
A direct purchase is preferable if you plan to keep playing after canceling Game Pass, want access independent of EA Play’s catalog, or want a physical or individually owned digital copy. The US Xbox listing showed the standard edition at $69.99 or more when checked; prices and promotions can change. A listed Madden/College Football bundle was shown at $99.99 or more, which is only worthwhile if you also want Madden.

The game supports online multiplayer, but console online play requires an Xbox plan with the appropriate multiplayer entitlement. Game Pass Ultimate includes that benefit. EA Play alone does not replace the Xbox multiplayer requirement. Single-player modes do not necessarily require online multiplayer access.
If the game still appears as an EA Play trial
Try these practical checks:
- Confirm the account has Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, not only Core.
- Verify the Xbox/Microsoft account is linked to the intended EA account.
- Open the title from the current Xbox Game Pass or EA Play catalog instead of an old trial tile.
- Restart the Xbox app or console, then sign out and back in.
- Check the Store page for the “Included with EA Play” designation.
- If the entitlement is still missing, contact Xbox or EA Support.
Canceling or downgrading the qualifying subscription can remove access unless you separately own the game. Likewise, an Xbox One owner cannot use the Series X|S listing as proof of native Xbox One support.

EA SPORTS College Football 26 is available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members through EA Play, with full-game access beginning February 19, 2026. It was not a day-one Game Pass release, is not included with Core, supports Xbox Series X|S and cloud gaming, and does not include paid Ultimate Team content or DLC.
