Yes—Clash of Clans and Clash Royale are officially playable on Windows PCs through Google Play Games on PC. The games use their Android versions in Google’s Windows gaming app, rather than arriving as standalone native Windows games or Steam releases. You can use the same progress across PC and mobile with the correct Supercell ID, but the same account cannot be active on both devices at once.
What launched—and when
Supercell first soft-launched the PC versions in Canada, Chile and Singapore on October 10, 2023. It announced global availability through Google Play Games on October 23, 2023. The first date was not the worldwide release date. (Supercell’s soft-launch announcement; global announcement.)
This is the official Windows route, but it is not a separate native PC port: Supercell support says the Windows app uses the Android versions of the games. You launch them from Google Play Games on PC—not Steam or a standalone Supercell launcher. Google Play Games is Google’s supported PC gaming platform, rather than an unofficial emulator installation.

Check your PC before installing
Google’s listed minimum requirements for Google Play Games on PC include:

These are platform requirements, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or performance. Check Google’s current requirements and country-availability page before installing; requirements and availability can change.
How to install either game
- On your Windows PC, go to the Google Play Games on PC download page and select Download.
- Open the installer and follow its setup steps. If Google Play Games prompts you to enable Windows Hypervisor Platform, do so and restart Windows.
- Make sure hardware virtualization is enabled in your computer’s BIOS or UEFI settings if setup requires it.
- Sign in to Google Play Games with a personal Google Account.
- Search the app for Clash of Clans or Clash Royale, choose the game and install it.
- When the game opens, sign in with the Supercell ID linked to the mobile account whose progress you want to use.
Do not assume installation alone will locate the right village or Royale account. Before switching, open the game on mobile and confirm that the account is connected to Supercell ID. If the PC game starts a fresh account, stop and check which Supercell ID is signed in rather than disconnecting or overwriting an existing profile. Does mobile progress carry over?
Yes. Supercell ID lets you continue the same game progress on PC and mobile when you sign in to the correct account. Google also supports synchronization for games that offer cross-device progress. The Google Account used for Google Play Games and the Supercell ID used inside the game serve different purposes: make sure the in-game Supercell ID is the one linked to your existing progress.
Cross-platform play and cross-device progress do not mean simultaneous use of one account. Supercell says launching the account on one device logs it out of the other. You can play with people on other platforms, but you cannot keep the same account active on your phone and PC at the same time. (Supercell’s PC announcement.)

What is different on PC?
The underlying gameplay remains the same as on mobile. The PC version gives you a larger display and mouse controls, with Google Play Games’ PC environment also supporting keyboard and mouse. Supercell describes the graphics as optimized, but that should not be read as a promise of a particular resolution, frame rate or redesigned interface. Performance depends on your hardware, drivers and virtualization setup.
For players who prefer touch controls, the mobile apps remain the natural option. The Windows version can suit players who want a larger view, mouse input or a PC setup for streaming, without changing the games’ mobile identity.

Is it free?
Google Play Games on PC does not require a separate game subscription to access these titles. Clash of Clans and Clash Royale remain free-to-play, with optional in-game purchases. What is offered, and its price, can vary by region and change over time.

Fix common setup problems
Installation says the PC is not eligible
Check the Windows version, available SSD space, RAM, physical CPU core count and graphics hardware against Google’s requirements. You may also need administrator access. Google’s installer can identify unmet requirements and block installation.

Virtualization error or setup will not continue
Check that virtualization is enabled in BIOS or UEFI. If prompted, enable Windows Hypervisor Platform in Windows, then restart. A pending restart or another virtualization tool may interfere with setup. If the issue continues, follow Google’s setup guidance and troubleshooting steps; updating Google Play Games or reinstalling it may help.
The game is missing or marked unavailable
Possible causes include an unsupported Google Play country, a PC that does not meet compatibility requirements, or an outdated Google Play Games installation. Google uses labels such as optimized, playable, untested, unsupported and not available; these can change, and testing is not continuous. Check the listing and Google’s explanation of compatibility labels.
Progress is missing
Confirm that you are signed in to the right Google Account in Google Play Games and the right Supercell ID inside the game. Check that the mobile account was linked before switching and that both versions are up to date. Avoid disconnecting or replacing an account until you have verified which profile contains your progress.
The account logs out on another device
That is expected if you launch the same account on mobile and PC: Supercell does not allow that account to be active on both at once.
What about Mac or Linux?
This Google Play Games release is for Windows. Supercell described the service as Windows-only at launch, and the documented route does not provide official macOS or Linux support. Google’s minimum Windows requirements do not apply to those operating systems.
