To convert a voice recording into MIDI, upload the audio to a service that explicitly offers audio-to-MIDI conversion or vocal transcription with MIDI export, then inspect the notes and correct the timing and pitches in a MIDI editor. Sunp lists audio-to-MIDI conversion; Sonus lists audio-to-MIDI; and Songscription lists vocal coverage and MIDI export. The result is a note pattern, not a copy of the singer’s voice or its sound.
What Voice-To-MIDI Can Capture
MIDI describes musical events such as note pitch, start time, length and velocity. It does not preserve the recording’s vocal tone, words, breaths or room sound. A clean, single-note melody—one sung pitch at a time—is the clearest starting point. Chords, overlapping harmonies, accompaniment, vibrato and consonants can make note detection harder, so expect to review the conversion rather than treat it as a finished transcription.
For a streamer’s intro or a recurring content cue, hum or sing the melody plainly and keep the recording focused on that line. For a lyric melody, the words may help you perform it naturally, but the MIDI output is useful for the notes, not as a lyric file.
Prepare A Voice Recording
- Choose a short passage with one clear melody. If the recording has backing music or several singers, use a cleaner vocal-only version if you have one.
- Sing or hum at a steady tempo and hold each note long enough to distinguish it from the next. Avoid adding harmony or spoken words over the melody.
- Record in a quiet space, with the voice clearly audible and without clipping. Use the cleanest original recording available rather than a version that has been heavily processed.
- Save the recording in an audio format accepted by the service you choose. The listed tool information does not establish supported formats, so check the service’s upload requirements before exporting.

Convert The Recording And Export MIDI
- Open the chosen service and upload the prepared recording using its current audio-import workflow.
- Select the audio-to-MIDI or transcription option if the service presents more than one workflow. The exact control names and processing steps are not established here; follow the service’s on-screen instructions.
- Listen to the source while reviewing the detected notes. Check that every sung note has a corresponding note event, that repeated notes are separate, and that silence has not become stray notes.
- Correct misplaced pitches and note boundaries in the service’s MIDI editor if available, or in a MIDI editor after export. For a held note, make the MIDI note span the sung sustain; for short repeated syllables on the same pitch, check whether they should be separate events or one continuous note.
- Export or download the result as a MIDI file if that option is available on your plan, then open it in the music software you use. Confirm that the notes begin at the intended tempo and that the melody plays back as expected.
Fix The Notes That Usually Need Review
- Extra notes at syllable edges: Consonants and breaths can be mistaken for note events. Remove events that do not correspond to sung pitches.
- One long note where you sang several: Separate repeated pitches according to the performance. A new syllable does not always mean a new MIDI note, so listen to the pitch and articulation.
- Wobbly pitch or vibrato: Keep the intended central pitch and remove accidental note changes if the conversion has broken one sustained vocal note into several notes.
- Timing that feels late or early: Compare note starts with the vocal attack. Adjust them to the musical pulse you want; do not assume the software knows the intended project tempo.
- Harmony or backing sound in the result: If multiple pitches were sung at once, review each line separately where possible. The listed tool details do not establish reliable separation of a particular vocal arrangement.
Use The MIDI In A Gaming-Creator Workflow
Once the notes are clean, use the MIDI as an editable starting point for a stream starting cue, a short transition motif or a melody you want to arrange with different instruments. The voice recording supplies the musical idea; the instrument sound comes from the software or instrument you use to play the MIDI. Check that software’s own import and sound options, since they are not established by the voice-to-MIDI tools listed here.
