There is no Roblox-wide list of “working” music codes: an audio ID works only if the asset is available, permitted for the experience, and the game accepts player-entered audio. A code is an audio asset ID—not a promo code or a way to unlock music across Roblox.
Why a Roblox music code may not work
“Music code,” “song ID,” “audio ID,” and “boombox code” usually mean the same thing: the ID for an audio asset. That ID is not a guarantee of playback. The asset must exist, pass moderation, be accessible to the experience, and be accepted by the game’s own music interface. Roblox’s audio asset documentation and asset permissions documentation describe those availability and access conditions.
- A game may not offer a Boombox, Radio, DJ booth, vehicle stereo, or other player-facing music interface.
- A game with such an interface may still reject outside audio IDs.
- An ID that works in one experience may fail in another because access and playback are experience-specific.
- An asset can stop working if it is removed, restricted, or affected by moderation or copyright action, or if the experience changes.
For these reasons, a list dated April 2026 cannot guarantee that every ID still works, and no published list can promise universal availability.

How to enter an audio ID in a Roblox experience
There is no universal Roblox menu path for entering a song ID. Open the game’s own music interface—if it has one—and follow its instructions. The field commonly accepts the raw numeric ID, but the exact interface and whether it accepts user-entered audio depend on that experience. An ID does not grant Robux, an inventory item, or access to music everywhere on Roblox.

Find an audio ID in Roblox Studio
- Open Toolbox, select the Creator Store tab, open the category selector, and choose Audio.
- Search by keyword or narrow the results with quick or advanced filters.
- Right-click an audio result and select Copy Asset ID.
This is Roblox’s documented asset-discovery path. Copying an ID does not itself grant an experience permission to play that asset.
Play audio in Studio with the current audio objects
Roblox’s current modular audio system uses AudioPlayer, AudioDeviceOutput, and Wire for non-directional playback. The older Sound, SoundGroup, and SoundEffect objects are discouraged in favor of the newer objects. Follow Roblox’s audio objects guide for object behavior and setup.

- In Explorer, go to SoundService and insert an AudioPlayer, an AudioDeviceOutput, and a Wire.
- In the AudioPlayer’s Properties, set AssetID to a valid audio asset ID. You can also enable Looping or adjust Volume.
- In the Wire’s Properties, set SourceInstance to the AudioPlayer and TargetInstance to the AudioDeviceOutput.
For scripts, note that the current API reference marks AudioPlayer.AssetId as deprecated and exposes AudioPlayer.Asset as a ContentId. The reference still displays this deprecated example syntax, so do not treat it as the non-deprecated API:

wire.TargetInstance = deviceOutputSee the AudioPlayer API reference for the current property information. In-game fields commonly take a raw numeric ID; Studio asset references traditionally use the rbxassetid://ID form. These are two ways to refer to an asset, not different kinds of music code.

Upload your own audio
You may upload audio only if you own it or have the necessary rights. Roblox’s current asset requirements specify these file limits and formats:
- A single track or stream in
.mp3,.ogg,.wav, or.flac. - Under 20 MB and 7 minutes long.
- Sample rate of 48 kHz or lower.
- Mono, stereo 2.0, 3.0, or 5.1 channels.
- Compliance with Roblox rules and terms, with legal rights to use the recording.
To upload on the web, log in, click Create in the blue top bar, select Audio, click Browse to choose the file, then click Upload. Manage the audio afterward from its Configure page. Roblox lists these steps in its audio upload help page.

Import quotas
Roblox currently allows ID-verified users to import 2,000 free audio assets per 30 days and unverified users to import 100 per 30 days. The former daily limit has been replaced by this monthly limit; see the audio asset documentation for the current quota.

Roblox says uploaded music must be owned by the uploader or properly licensed. Copyrighted music outside the approved Licensed Music program may be removed or automatically replaced with Licensed Music. Under Roblox’s APM Music service, a game may use up to 250 licensed tracks at a time, including tracks used in in-game Boomboxes; Licensed Music is for use on Roblox and may not be downloaded. Fix common audio-ID and upload failures
The ID is rejected or does not play in a game
First check whether that experience supports player-entered audio and whether its interface accepts outside IDs. If it does, verify the ID and test an asset the experience is allowed to use. A valid asset can still be inaccessible to a particular game.
Studio reports a permission error
If the relevant creator or game lacks permission, a restricted asset will not load. Studio displays a clickable error in the Output window. For an audio asset, grant access through Creator Dashboard → Development Items → Audio → select the asset → Configure → Permissions → Experiences → Add experiences → Enter Universe IDs → Add → Done. You can enter multiple universe IDs separated by commas. Roblox documents this in its asset privacy and permissions guide.
Game permission remains after it is granted: removing a collaborator does not remove access already granted to games, and removing a creator’s access does not revoke permissions from games already using the asset. Asset Privacy is not a general fix for audio; Roblox says that setting affects default privacy for Images, Decals, and Meshes, not Audio.
The upload fails during import
Studio transcodes imported audio before saving it. Roblox notes that invalid file headers or frames produced by outdated audio tools can cause rejection during transcoding. Check the file format and technical limits above, then export a clean file from a current audio tool and try again. The audio asset documentation describes the transcoding failure mode.
An uploaded song disappears or changes
Moderation and copyright checks affect audio visibility and continued availability. Roblox says audio shown on a game details page must meet requirements covering moderation and copyright, duration, playback, platform age, title, uploader verification, and Audio Terms. A song that fails a copyright check may be removed or replaced; consult the asset requirements and Licensed Music policy.
