There is no universal password that beats The Password Game: its chess position, Wordle, moon phase, geography prompt, video requirement, and timed events can vary by run. The reliable approach is to solve each rule using the current game prompts, keep fragile sections easy to edit, and recheck every earlier condition after each change.
The Password Game is a browser puzzle by Neal Agarwal. Its 35 cumulative rules begin with ordinary password checks and grow into a constraint puzzle involving arithmetic, symbols, Roman numerals, CAPTCHA or sponsor text, geography, chess, moon phases, Wordle, video details, formatting, and a chicken character. Once a rule appears, it remains active; adding text to satisfy a later rule can break an earlier one.
Rules 1–5: build a valid foundation
The first requirements are straightforward, but Rule 5 makes every later edit an arithmetic concern.

- Rule 1: Use at least five characters.
- Rule 2: Include a number.
- Rule 3: Include an uppercase letter.
- Rule 4: Include a special character.
- Rule 5: Make the sum of all numerical digits exactly 25.
For Rule 5, count every digit in the whole password, not just the digits you initially added. If a later clue or required text introduces a number, recalculate the total and adjust the digits accordingly.

How to handle the symbol and changing-value rules
Some requirements depend on the full string or the current state of the game, rather than on a fixed answer. Use the value or prompt shown in your run.
- Roman numerals: The Roman numeral letters in the password must produce the product target displayed by the game. The letters I, V, X, L, C, D, and M can count wherever they appear, including inside other text. Recheck the product after adding words or symbols.
- Moon phase: Enter the emoji for the phase required by the game. It is a changing value, so a phase emoji copied from an older run may not work.
- Wordle, CAPTCHA, geography, and video prompts: Use the current puzzle text and any displayed video or length requirement. These are run-specific, not permanent password ingredients.
- Formatting and timer requirements: Follow the exact formatting and timing instructions shown in the current game; later rules can make the password harder to edit safely.
Rule 16: solve the chess position shown to you
Rule 16 asks for the best move in the chess position generated for your game. Enter that move in algebraic chess notation, using the appropriate piece letter, capture notation, and check marker if the position calls for them. There is no dependable Rule 16 answer to copy from another player’s run: the displayed board determines the answer. Inspect the position currently on screen and enter the move that is best for that board.

Paul: protect the egg and meet the feeding requirement
Paul’s requirements turn the password into an active maintenance task. Include the required egg or chicken emoji, respond to the fire event before the fire reaches Paul, and, after the egg hatches, supply the required caterpillars without exceeding the limit shown by the game.

- Watch for the fire event and remove the fire in time; waiting while you work on another requirement risks losing Paul.
- After hatching, follow the displayed caterpillar amount and limit. Do not add extras as a precaution.
A safer order for solving the full chain
A modular password is easier to audit than an especially short one. Keep relatively stable material separate from answers that can expire, and postpone time-sensitive entries until the rest is under control.

- Establish the early rules. Make a basic string that meets length, number, uppercase, and special-character requirements, then set its digits to total 25.
- Reserve distinct sections. Keep fixed text, arithmetic-sensitive digits, Roman-numeral-sensitive text, and Paul’s content easy to locate. This makes targeted repairs less likely to damage unrelated requirements.
- Solve research-heavy prompts while they are visible. Work through the generated chess board and the current Wordle, geography, CAPTCHA, or video requirements using the exact prompt in your run.
- Add live and fragile content late. Enter the current moon-phase emoji and deal with timing-sensitive requirements when you can attend to them, rather than letting a stale value sit in the password.
- Audit after every edit. Recheck the complete password against all unlocked rules, especially digit sum, Roman-numeral product, formatting, Paul’s safety, and any live prompt.
- Complete the final confirmation carefully. The guide reports that the final step requires manually retyping the full password within two minutes, with copy-paste blocked. Make sure you can reproduce your assembled string before starting that timed step.
Why a copied “winning password” usually fails
The game combines fixed rules with values tied to a particular run. A password that once passed can fail on another board, moon phase, Wordle, geography clue, video requirement, or timer. Even a string assembled for your own run can stop working if an edit changes the digit sum, Roman-numeral product, formatting, or Paul’s status.
Treat the password as a set of coordinated sections, not as a single magic phrase. After a change, validate the whole chain rather than assuming the new rule is the only one affected. Do not enter a real account password: this is a puzzle interface, not a password manager.

The guide at Unanswered.io reports 35 rules and a cumulative play count of 10 million; that play count is a reported figure, not a measure of current activity. Rules and answers that depend on live prompts should be taken from the game itself, not treated as stable reference values.
