Lenovo announced its 2024 Legion Y9000P gaming-laptop lineup in China on January 17, 2024, with the main configurations going on sale in late February. The headline’s 204Hz figure is incorrect: the 16-inch, 2560×1600 panel is rated at 240Hz. Every listed launch configuration uses an Intel Core i9-14900HX, while graphics options run from an RTX 4060 to an RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.
What Lenovo launched
The Y9000P 2024 is a family of China-market configurations, not a single fixed specification. Lenovo announced the lineup on January 17, 2024; the principal retail configurations opened for sale around February 27. The range included RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 models as well as a much more expensive RTX 4090 “Ultimate Edition.” IT之家 reported the announcement and initial prices, while its February sales coverage reported the later retail opening.
Lenovo’s product listing identifies an i9-14900HX/32GB/1TB/RTX 4090 configuration, but the launch lineup also included 16GB RTX 4060 versions. Color choices varied by SKU, including black and white RTX 4060 configurations. Lenovo China’s product listing covers the top configuration.

Display: 240Hz, not 204Hz
The verified display specification is 16 inches, 2560×1600 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 240Hz. That resolution is often called QHD+; it has more vertical pixels than a conventional 2560×1440 16:9 QHD screen. The 204Hz figure is not supported by Lenovo’s product documentation or the launch reporting, which identify a 240Hz panel. Launch coverage reports 500-nit typical brightness, 3ms gray-to-gray response time, DisplayHDR 400, Dolby Vision and Nvidia G-Sync. Panel gamut depends on the exact version: coverage describes both 100% sRGB and 100% DCI-P3 panels, so buyers should verify the SKU rather than assume every model has the wider-gamut option. A 240Hz refresh rate is most useful when a game can produce very high frame rates, as in esports or lighter titles. It is not a promise of 240 frames per second in demanding games at native 2560×1600, particularly with ray tracing enabled.
Launch configurations and prices
These are China launch prices, not current worldwide prices. The CNY 9,899 figure was an announced introductory price for a specific RTX 4060 configuration; later sales coverage placed the practical starting point at CNY 10,399 for the configurations opening for retail sale. The difference reflects configuration and timing rather than one universal price.

Prices and configurations were reported by IT之家’s January launch coverage; later sales details appear in its February report. The values are historical China launch prices. They should not be converted into a current U.S. or European retail estimate without accounting for taxes, import costs, warranty differences and reseller pricing.
Processor, graphics and power
One processor across the listed launch models
Each listed launch configuration uses the Intel Core i9-14900HX, a 24-core, 32-thread mobile processor with a maximum turbo frequency of 5.8GHz, according to IT之家’s specification coverage. The GPU tier and memory capacity—not the listed processor—distinguish the configurations.
The RTX 4090 is a laptop GPU
The top model’s RTX 4090 is Nvidia’s 16GB GDDR6 Laptop GPU, not the desktop RTX 4090. Lenovo’s Chinese product material advertises up to 175W GPU power and roughly 250W total performance release for the top configuration. Those are advertised limits, not a guarantee of sustained power or a specific frame rate: results depend on workload, cooling, performance mode and system conditions. Lenovo’s product documentation lists the power claims; Lenovo China’s product page identifies the 16GB graphics configuration.

The 4090 version costs CNY 23,999 at launch, compared with CNY 11,499 for the listed RTX 4070 version. That gap makes the flagship most relevant to buyers who have a clear need for the highest-tier laptop graphics, 16GB of VRAM, or demanding creative and compute workloads—not simply anyone seeking a gaming laptop. No benchmark results are established here, so the GPU names alone should not be treated as a measured performance comparison.
Cooling, charging and practical hardware
Launch coverage reports five heat pipes and dual fans, a 300W power adapter, and support for 140W USB-C charging. It also reports two M.2 storage slots and one accessible memory slot, but upgrade arrangements can vary by machine; confirm the exact SKU and service documentation before buying parts. IT之家’s specifications report describes these hardware details.
The high advertised power envelope and large adapter point to a laptop designed to do its best work near an outlet. USB-C charging is useful for lighter use and travel, but it should not be mistaken for the included 300W adapter when running demanding games. Reported ports and features include HDMI 2.1, multiple USB-A and USB-C ports, gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5mm headset jack and a camera privacy switch. Exact counts and placement should be checked against the individual listing.

Is the Y9000P an international Legion model?
Y9000P is the name used for this China-market lineup. Lenovo sells similar gaming hardware internationally under Legion Pro branding, but the name alone does not establish a one-to-one equivalent: screen gamut, GPU power limits, configuration and other details may differ by country and SKU. The available launch information confirms a China launch, not an official U.S. or worldwide Y9000P release. Notebookcheck’s launch report also identifies the China-market Y9000P and its top GPU option.
The listed China-market units came with Windows 11 Chinese Home edition. Anyone importing one should check the seller’s authorization and return policy, local warranty coverage, Windows language and reinstall options, keyboard layout, charger compatibility, and regional access to BIOS, drivers and Lenovo software. Confirm the exact model number and panel gamut: marketplace listings can combine details from different RAM, display or edition variants. Also verify whether the machine is new, refurbished, modified or sold as a bare unit.
Lenovo’s Chinese product page showed later listing signals of roughly CNY 23,999–26,499 for RTX 4090 versions, depending on listing and edition. That is a time-sensitive China listing range, not a verified current price in other markets. Lenovo China’s product page is the relevant official listing.

Which configuration makes sense?
RTX 4060: the lower-cost entry
The RTX 4060 models retain the i9-14900HX and 240Hz display while starting with 16GB RAM in the listed entry configurations; a 32GB option was also listed. They are the most accessible launch-price tier in this lineup, but buyers should match expectations to the GPU and not assume the screen’s maximum refresh rate will be reached in every game.
RTX 4070: the middle option
At CNY 11,499 launch price, the RTX 4070 configuration pairs the GPU with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage. It is a reasonable middle tier for buyers who want more graphics headroom than the RTX 4060 without paying the RTX 4090’s much higher launch price. That is a configuration-based judgment, not a benchmarked claim that it is the best value in every market.
RTX 4090: a costly specialist choice
The RTX 4090 Ultimate Edition is the option for buyers who specifically need top-tier laptop graphics, the GPU’s 16GB VRAM, or additional headroom for demanding work. Its premium is substantial, and a 240Hz panel does not mean every modern game will run at 240fps at native resolution. Consider local service and import costs as part of the decision, not just the China launch price.

The accurate launch story is a China-market 2024 Legion Y9000P family announced in January and sold from late February, with a 16-inch 2560×1600 240Hz display—not a 204Hz panel. All listed launch configurations use the Core i9-14900HX, but the RTX 4090 is a costly top-end option rather than a standard feature. International buyers should treat it as an import unless they have a confirmed local SKU and warranty.
