To record a game with Wondershare DemoCreator, open the game first, then choose Video Recorder → Game Recording, select the running game, set your audio and webcam inputs, and start with REC or F9. Stop with F10. Make a short test recording before a long session so you can check the picture, game sound, microphone, and webcam.
What you need before recording
DemoCreator’s Game Recording mode is for Windows. Wondershare lists Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11 (64-bit) as supported. Its published minimums include an Intel Core i3-7100U or newer, 3 GB of RAM (8 GB for HD and 4K video), compatible Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD graphics, 2 GB of VRAM (4 GB for HD and 4K), a 1280×720-or-better display, and 2 GB of free space for installation. An internet connection is required for registration, activation, or cloud resources. These are application requirements, not a promise that a demanding game will record smoothly at high resolution or frame rate. See Wondershare’s published technical specifications.
- Install DemoCreator from Wondershare’s official site and sign in or create a Wondershare ID if prompted.
- Open the game before selecting it in DemoCreator; the official workflow expects a running game.
- Have a microphone or webcam ready only if you want commentary or face-cam footage. Update graphics drivers where practical and leave enough free storage for the recording, temporary editing files, and final export.
- Wondershare says trial exports carry a watermark. Check the current activation and account FAQ and the purchase screen for the limits and export options in your edition before investing time in a long project.
How to record gameplay with DemoCreator
- Open the game. Start it and load the menu, level, or match you intend to capture.
- Open Game Recording. In DemoCreator, choose Video Recorder → Game Recording.
- Select the running game. Choose it from the game-selection control. If it is missing, make sure it is open, return to DemoCreator, and try again. Windowed or borderless mode can help with detection; restarting DemoCreator after opening the game is another practical troubleshooting step.
- Set system audio and microphone. Enable system audio to capture game sound and other PC playback. Enable the microphone for commentary or voice chat, select the intended devices, and check their levels. Lower the game temporarily during a test if you need to hear whether your voice is clear.
- Add a webcam if wanted. Enable the camera, choose the correct device, and position or resize its overlay. The guide documents circular and rectangular camera-border options.
- Choose whether to use AI Voice Cleaning. The control is under Magic Tools and is intended to reduce background noise. It is optional processing, not a guarantee of better audio: compare a cleaned test with an unprocessed one, since noise removal can affect quiet speech or other sound.
- Start the recording. Click the red REC button or press F9. The official guide also lists F9 for pausing and resuming.
- Stop when finished. Press F10, or open the recorder control from the Windows taskbar and use its end-recording button.
Wondershare’s Game Recording guide documents these controls and input options. Its general DemoCreator navigation guide describes recording screen, webcam, microphone, and system audio; check what your installed version exposes before assuming inputs are saved as separate editable tracks.
Make a short test recording first
Record 20–30 seconds of gameplay before starting a long session. Play it back and check:

- The whole game image is visible and not cropped.
- Game sound is present and at a useful level.
- Your microphone is audible, not muted, and not clipping.
- The webcam shows the intended view and does not cover important game information.
- Voice and picture appear synchronized, and fast movement looks acceptably smooth.
A recording can finish successfully while still having missing audio or a framing problem. Finding that out in a short test is easier than discovering it after a full session.
Edit and export the gameplay video
After recording, review the clip and trim loading screens, dead time, or mistakes. If needed, adjust the balance between game sound and commentary, then add a face-cam layout, captions, transitions, stickers, or branding. DemoCreator is presented as both a recorder and editor, with editing, overlays, captions, transitions, and audio tools on its Game Recorder page.

Choose export settings for the destination
- Short clips or social posts: 1080p is a practical starting point.
- YouTube gameplay: When your system and storage can manage it, match the source resolution and frame rate.
- Fast-moving games: Use a frame rate and bitrate that preserve motion, then inspect quick camera turns for compression artifacts.
- An archival copy: Export at the highest practical quality, allowing for substantially larger files.
Wondershare’s current Windows purchase comparison lists paid-plan recording and export up to 4K UHD and 120 FPS. That is a product capability claim, not a guarantee that every PC, game, or export configuration will sustain it. Marketing on the broader Game Recorder page also uses 4K/8K language, so do not treat 8K as a confirmed Windows-plan specification. Check the current Windows plan comparison for your edition.

Long recordings create large files and can make editing or exporting harder on a system with limited storage or performance headroom. Check free space first, consider splitting very long sessions into manageable recordings, and copy finished footage elsewhere before deleting the source.

Fix common recording problems
The game does not appear in the selector
- Confirm the game is running, then return to DemoCreator.
- Try windowed or borderless mode and restart DemoCreator with the game already open.
- If Game Recording still cannot capture it, switch to DemoCreator’s regular New Recording Mode, as described in the localized official guide.
Detection can vary by game and capture conditions, so do not assume every title or rendering mode will work identically.
The recording shows only part of the game
Keep the game at a fixed window size, resolution, and display position throughout the session. Wondershare says Game Recording uses window-recording technology and warns that changing the game window’s size during recording may leave only part of the image visible. Game audio is missing
- Check that system audio is enabled and that DemoCreator is using the intended playback device.
- Check Windows output routing and the game’s own volume or mute settings.
- If you use Bluetooth headphones, check that Windows has not switched to a different audio profile or output.
The microphone is missing or too quiet
- Check Windows microphone permissions, the selected input device, any physical mute switch, and the input level.
- Record a short test with game audio lowered so you can assess the voice clearly.
The video stutters or drops frames
Recording adds work for the PC while the game is already using system resources. CPU or GPU load, a slow or nearly full drive, high capture settings, heat-related throttling, background applications, or webcam and AI processing can all contribute. Try a lower resolution or frame rate, close unnecessary applications, record to an SSD if available, and test again before the session.
The export has a watermark
Wondershare says trial exports are watermarked. Review the current activation FAQ and the Windows purchase page to confirm the watermark and export terms for the plan and region you are considering.

Choose based on the workflow rather than a universal performance ranking: Game Bar for simple clips, DemoCreator for a more guided record-and-edit path, and OBS for configurable production or streaming.
Privacy and game-publisher rules
Before recording or publishing, check for private messages, notifications, usernames, or account details on screen. Voice chat may capture other players, and game music or footage may be subject to copyright and a publisher’s recording or monetization policy. Check the specific publisher’s rules and obtain consent where other people’s voices or personal information are included; recording or monetizing a game is not automatically permitted.
