The Thrustmaster ESWAP X2 Pro Controller Elden Ring Edition is a licensed Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree-themed gamepad for Xbox and PC, with interchangeable modules, mechanical face buttons and four remappable rear buttons. Thrustmaster’s U.S. product page lists it at $189.99 and links to buying options; that does not confirm stock at any particular retailer. The $199.99 pre-order price belongs to the original June 2024 announcement, not a current pre-order.
What is the Elden Ring ESWAP X2?
It is Thrustmaster’s ESWAP X2 Pro Controller with officially licensed artwork inspired by Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. The design makes it a collectible as well as a gaming peripheral, but the underlying pitch is configurable controls: selected physical parts can be removed and replaced with compatible modules. “Modular” does not mean every part of the controller can be freely rebuilt.
The official U.S. product page lists compatibility with PC and Xbox. It does not establish PlayStation or Nintendo Switch support. Check the current product listing for the exact console generation and Windows requirements before buying.

Replaceable modules
The ESWAP X2 supports interchangeable mini-stick, grip, trigger and four-direction D-IPPON D-pad modules. That can make a worn or unwanted component replaceable, and lets owners adapt the layout or feel. The value depends on whether compatible replacement parts are available when needed and at a price that makes sense.

Mechanical face buttons
Thrustmaster says the mechanical buttons activate at 0.3 mm (0.01 inch) and are 64% faster than traditional membrane buttons. The 64% figure is the manufacturer’s laboratory-tested claim, not an independently established improvement in gameplay or a promise that players will react faster in Elden Ring. Mechanical buttons can also feel and sound different from membrane buttons, so the preference is personal.
Four rear buttons
Four additional buttons on the back can be remapped to controller functions. Assigning actions such as dodge, jump, attack or item use to these controls may help players keep their thumbs on the sticks. They matter most to people who will actually use rear controls; they add little value if you prefer a conventional layout.

Trigger locks and mini-sticks
Physical locks on the LT and RT triggers shorten their activation travel, which may suit quick inputs in action games. They are less useful when a game depends on gradual trigger pressure. The controller uses S5 NXG mini-sticks, which Thrustmaster markets for precision and responsiveness. The cited product information does not identify them as Hall Effect sticks, so buyers looking specifically for that technology should not assume it is included.
Configuration software and included parts
ThrustmapperX provides options to remap buttons and adjust mini-stick sensitivity and trigger activation travel. The product documentation describes Windows 10/11 software use on PC and an Xbox version available through the Microsoft Store; app availability and setup details can change, so check the current instructions for your platform.

The listed cable does not establish wireless operation. If wireless play is essential, verify that requirement directly before purchasing rather than inferring connectivity from the product’s other features.
The listed dimensions are 6.3 × 4.7 × 2.4 inches (160 × 120 × 60 mm), and the listed weight is 0.7 lb (300 g), according to Thrustmaster’s product page.

Price and the old pre-order date
Thrustmaster’s U.S. product page currently lists a $189.99 price signal and a path to buying options. Retailer stock and final prices can vary; a manufacturer listing alone does not confirm that a particular store has the controller in stock.
The original pre-order story was published June 21, 2024. It reported an Amazon pre-order price of $199.99 and an expected shipping date of September 30, 2024. Those are historical launch details, not a current release schedule.

For price context, Thrustmaster’s U.S. listings show the standard ESWAP X2 at $169.99, the ESWAP X2 H.E at $179.99 and the ESWAP S Pro Controller at $139.99. These are lineup comparisons, not a claim that the models have identical features. The H.E is the relevant option to investigate if Hall Effect sticks are a priority; confirm its listed specifications and current price before choosing.
Is the $189.99 model worth it?
It makes sense if…
- You want the officially licensed Shadow of the Erdtree design and are comfortable paying extra for themed hardware.
- You will use the interchangeable modules, rear-button remapping or trigger locks.
- You want a configurable controller for both Xbox and PC and have confirmed it supports your specific setup.
Look elsewhere if…
- You want wireless play, a low-cost standard controller or compatibility beyond Xbox and PC.
- You do not expect to use the modular parts or rear buttons; in that case, the premium features may not justify the price.
- You specifically want confirmed Hall Effect sticks. The available product information for this edition does not establish that feature.
The standard ESWAP X2 is a lower-priced way into Thrustmaster’s X2 platform without this edition’s licensed artwork, while the ESWAP S Pro is a less expensive option in the brand’s lineup. Compare the current specifications, price, module compatibility and return terms for each rather than treating them as identical substitutes.
