AOC’s AGON PRO AG276QSG2 is a 27-inch, 2560×1440 Fast IPS gaming monitor running at 360Hz and supporting NVIDIA G-SYNC Pulsar. AOC announced it on January 7, 2026; NVIDIA listed it in the first four-brand Pulsar launch wave available from select retailers that day, although stock and timing still vary by region. Independent reviews found exceptionally clear motion and roughly 1.29ms measured input lag, but the monitor remains a specialist esports display rather than an automatic OLED replacement.
What launched and when
The AG276QSG2 belongs to AOC’s premium AGON PRO competitive-gaming range. AOC announced the monitor on January 7, 2026, initially describing availability as Q1 2026. NVIDIA’s launch announcement gave a more specific date: the first Pulsar displays, including AOC’s model, were due at select retailers from January 7 at 6 a.m. Pacific Time. Acer, AOC, ASUS and MSI made up that initial group, so “one of the first” is more accurate than calling AOC definitively first in every market.

The 500-nit figure is not a guarantee for every mode. The manual exposes separate HDR Peak options of 400 and 500, and brightness can change with the selected preset, HDR state and strobing mode. AOC’s English manual is available at AOC’s support PDF.

What G-SYNC Pulsar changes
An LCD normally holds each frame until the next one arrives. During a camera pan, the eye tracks that held image and perceives persistence blur. Backlight strobing reduces this by illuminating the panel only at carefully timed intervals, but traditional strobing generally works best at a fixed refresh rate and can conflict with variable refresh rate.
G-SYNC Pulsar varies the backlight timing with the incoming frame rate. In practical terms, it aims to preserve VRR’s tear-free smoothness while shortening the time each frame is visible to the eye. NVIDIA says the technology is integrated into the display scaler through work with MediaTek, rather than requiring a separate traditional G-SYNC module.
NVIDIA and AOC describe results of up to four times the effective motion clarity and, in NVIDIA’s terminology, more than 1,000Hz of “effective motion clarity.” Those are vendor-defined comparisons, not a 1,000Hz panel or a standardized refresh-rate measurement. Pulsar reduces perceived display persistence; it does not remove game-engine motion blur, camera blur, poor frame pacing or every possible artifact.

How to enable Pulsar
The monitor’s Pulsar control appears only when its qualifying conditions are met. Set it up as follows:
- Connect the monitor with DisplayPort.
- Use an NVIDIA graphics card and enable G-SYNC in the NVIDIA App or NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Set the display to at least 240Hz.
- Open the monitor’s gaming or G-SYNC settings and select NVIDIA Pulsar.
- Optionally adjust Pulsar Low FPS; the monitor exposes a 75–120 range.
- Try several games and frame-rate ranges. A setting that looks excellent at 360Hz may not be ideal at 120Hz or with uneven frame delivery.
If the GPU, G-SYNC, DisplayPort or 240Hz requirement is missing, the menu presents ULMB2 instead of Pulsar. AMD users should not expect the same Pulsar control, and HDMI should not be treated as equivalent to DisplayPort for this feature.
Enabling either NVIDIA Pulsar or ULMB2 disables manual Overdrive adjustment. AOC also warns that its highest Overdrive setting can produce a blurry image, so maximum overdrive is not automatically the best choice.

What hardware and games benefit
The monitor is most useful with a PC that can deliver high, stable frame rates at 2560×1440. A 360Hz panel does not make a game render at 360 frames per second, and frame-generation output should not be confused with the same clarity as consistently delivered native frames.

- Players who track rapidly moving targets or make frequent camera movements are the clearest audience.
- Competitive games such as Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Overwatch 2 and Rainbow Six Siege can expose the benefit when frame pacing is stable.
- The improvement is less compelling when the GPU spends most of its time below the monitor’s useful high-refresh range.
- Better tracking visibility does not guarantee faster reactions, a higher rank or an advantage for every player.
Independent testing: strong motion, ordinary LCD compromises
KitGuru measured approximately 1.29ms average input lag in its methodology and reported visibly clearer motion with Pulsar at 120Hz, 240Hz and 360Hz. In its specific comparisons, the 360Hz Pulsar mode could look clearer in motion than a 500Hz OLED. That is a motion-clarity observation, not a claim that the AOC has superior contrast, HDR or overall image quality. See the KitGuru testing.
Club386 praised the monitor’s brightness, motion clarity, color performance, firmware upgradeability and on-screen display/software experience. Its review sample also showed luminance and color-uniformity deviations, and it cautioned that strobing is not comfortable for all users. Those findings apply to the tested samples, not necessarily every retail unit. Its review-era price was approximately £558 (about $599 in the US market): Club386’s review.

Firmware matters
NVIDIA published firmware version 1.1.6 on May 28, 2026 for the AOC AG276QSG2 and the first-generation Pulsar models from MSI, ASUS and Acer. The update improved Pulsar operation from 100–180 FPS, corrected EDID white-point reporting, fixed an input auto-switch issue, fixed DP80 cable detection affecting switching, and fixed an occasional frame-skip issue when a second input was active.
Earlier firmware changes reduced double images below 90 FPS, corrected the FPS indicator below 90 FPS and fixed 60Hz ULMB2 strobing. Check NVIDIA’s official firmware portal and the 1.1.6 release notes before troubleshooting.
For 60Hz play, NVIDIA documents a separate fixed-refresh ULMB2 procedure: disable G-SYNC, select 60Hz, enable the monitor’s 60Hz ULMB2 option and use V-SYNC. That is not ordinary variable-refresh Pulsar operation.

Price and availability
Independent 2026 coverage observed the monitor at approximately $599 in the United States and £558–£559 in the United Kingdom. These are review-era price signals, not a confirmed universal August 2026 MSRP; retailer pricing, tax and stock vary by country.
NVIDIA’s first Pulsar alternatives are the Acer Predator XB273U F5, ASUS ROG STRIX Pulsar XG27AQNGV and MSI MPG 272QRF X36. NVIDIA identifies all four as 27-inch, QHD, 360Hz IPS displays with 500-nit HDR positioning, but stand design, ports, calibration, warranty, firmware and street price remain model-specific.
AOC LCD versus OLED
Why choose the AOC
- Pulsar targets exceptional tracking clarity while retaining VRR operation.
- QHD at 360Hz is a practical competitive-gaming balance between resolution and GPU demand.
- LCD avoids OLED burn-in and longevity concerns.
- It is a focused option for NVIDIA-and-DisplayPort PC setups.
Why choose OLED
- OLED delivers substantially better black levels, contrast and HDR impact.
- It is generally stronger for films, cinematic games and mixed desktop use.
- Some OLED monitors offer 480Hz or 500Hz without backlight strobing.
- Strobing can cause flicker, brightness changes or discomfort, and the AOC’s panel uniformity can vary by unit.
Club386’s assessment is the useful dividing line: the AOC is compelling for esports-focused buyers who specifically want LCD motion strobing, while a similarly priced OLED may be the better all-round purchase.
Who should buy it?
Buy the AG276QSG2 if
- Competitive FPS play is the priority.
- You can sustain high native frame rates at 1440p.
- You value motion clarity over HDR contrast and deep blacks.
- You have an NVIDIA GPU, DisplayPort and enabled G-SYNC.
- You want to avoid OLED burn-in concerns and can tolerate experimenting with strobing and firmware.
Skip it if
- You mainly play cinematic single-player games or watch HDR video.
- Your system rarely reaches high frame rates at 1440p.
- You are sensitive to flicker or backlight strobing.
- You want the strongest general-purpose image quality at around the same price.
- You expect every game, frame rate and GPU platform to receive the same benefit.
The Bottom Line
The AGON PRO AG276QSG2 is a serious specialist monitor: its 360Hz QHD IPS panel and G-SYNC Pulsar can produce unusually clear competitive-game motion, especially after current firmware is installed. At roughly $599/£558–£559 in observed 2026 pricing, it makes sense for high-FPS NVIDIA users who prioritize tracking clarity and want LCD rather than OLED. For HDR, black levels and broad everyday use, a similarly priced OLED remains the stronger all-round choice.
