The old claim that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has “over 40” mods is no longer current. At the time of checking on August 18, 2026, Nexus Mods listed approximately 2,612 mods and 17,681 files, while Steam Workshop listed 710 items. Those totals change constantly, but the practical choice is still manageable: start with a few compatible mods that match the way you want to play.
This guide is PC-focused and separates low-impact improvements from mods that alter saving, combat, inventory, visuals or the game’s survival rhythm. Every link goes to the author’s current page; recheck compatibility after game or DLC updates.

Instant Herb Picking II
Instant Herb Picking II removes or shortens the repeated picking animation while leaving herbalism and alchemy intact. It is one of the safest first additions for a new playthrough: less waiting, no new combat advantage and no change to what herbs do. The trade-off is purely experiential—players who enjoy the deliberate, tactile pacing may prefer the original animation.
More Barber Options – Hair and Beards
More Barber Options – Hair and Beards expands an existing barber-shop system instead of adding a separate character creator. It is cosmetic, easy to understand and a good replay mod. The listing shows a last update of March 6, 2026; check that it supports your current build and avoid stacking other appearance overhauls that edit the same character files.

Easy To See Arrows And Bolts
Easy To See Arrows And Bolts changes feather colours so fired projectiles are easier to locate. It does not alter damage, accuracy or ammunition. It is useful for archers and players with visual-accessibility needs, although the brighter colours may look less historically subdued. Its page shows a last update of February 20, 2025, so compatibility deserves particular attention.
Trough Washing Deluxe II
Trough Washing Deluxe II lets Henry wash fully at a trough or washing spot, with several versions on the mod page. It is a narrow, immersive adjustment rather than a transformative mod. Install it when that specific interaction matters to your role-play; skip it if you want only substantial additions.
Convenience mods that change the balance
Unlimited Saving II
Unlimited Saving II adds configurable, controller-friendly quick saving without consuming Saviour Schnapps. The page lists version 1.5, last updated November 25, 2025, and says it was tested on game version 1.5 including the Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC. Do not assume that means it supports a later patch: verify the page before installing.

This is the best general-purpose convenience mod for players frustrated by long gaps between save opportunities, but it is also a light cheat. It removes part of the original survival and resource-management tension. Keep it out of a first playthrough if preserving that pressure is important to you.

More Carry Weight – PTF
More Carry Weight – PTF offers several capacity settings, from a modest increase to effectively infinite carrying. Choose a moderate preset if you simply want fewer inventory trips; infinite capacity removes the value of pack animals, selling journeys and loot decisions. Nexus also lists Infinite Carry Weight UPDATED JUNE 2026, which raises capacity to 99,999 and is described as script-free. Its visible endorsement history is lighter, so treat it as an alternative rather than an automatic replacement.
More Stamina
More Stamina increases Henry’s and his horse’s regeneration and reduces stamina costs for attacks. It can make stamina-heavy combat more accessible, but it changes the value of pacing, defence, armour and exhaustion. The listing shows a last update of February 11, 2025; check support for your current game version before using it, especially after a major patch.
Immersion and role-playing
The KCD2 Camping Mod
The KCD2 Camping Mod is aimed at travellers, hunters, poachers and other wilderness-focused characters. It gives outdoor travel a stronger identity than a simple convenience tweak. Its listing shows a last update of January 22, 2026. Check for overlap with mods that alter sleep, food, travel or outdoor survival, and decide whether you want slower immersion or faster progression before adding it.

Camera and visual overhauls
Proper Third Person View
Proper Third Person View adds a third-person camera, camera-collision and frustum-culling corrections, a partial crosshair fix and an experimental free-look orbit mode. It is a meaningful alternate way to explore and show Henry’s equipment, not a universal upgrade. Test interiors, cutscenes, ladders, horseback travel and combat before committing; the page explicitly describes some features as experimental, and camera mods are especially sensitive to patches.
ENHANCED Realistic Visual and Weather HD Overhaul v3.0
ENHANCED Realistic Visual and Weather HD Overhaul v3.0 describes reworked lighting, vegetation, particles, dynamic weather and cinematic LUTs. Version 3.0 was uploaded June 21, 2026 and updated July 18, 2026. The listed download is approximately 888.4 MB, so allow for storage and installation time. Performance impact depends on your hardware; do not assume a frame-rate gain or loss without testing. Avoid combining it with other weather, lighting, vegetation, texture or LUT overhauls unless compatibility is documented.

- Let Steam download the item.
- Start or restart the game and test the feature.
Workshop handles downloading and updating, but individual items can still have dependencies or author-specific instructions. Follow the mod page if it says otherwise.

Manual installation from Nexus Mods
Manual installation is appropriate when a file is not on Workshop or when you want direct control. Close the game, open its installation directory and create a mods folder if necessary. Unpack the archive so that each mod has its own folder directly inside mods and contains mod.manifest. Do not put the ZIP itself in the folder or add an unnecessary extra directory level.

Vortex or KCD2 Mod Manager
KCD2 Mod Manager helps organise, enable and disable a larger setup; its listing describes mod merging as an intended or upcoming feature. The KCD2 Vortex extension provides another profile-based option. Both are third-party tools, not official support, and neither resolves every file conflict. For one or two Workshop mods, they add unnecessary complexity.

By default, Workshop mods load first in the order supplied by Steam, while manually installed mods load alphabetically from the game’s mods folder. A custom mod_order.txt can define a sequence, but once that file exists, any mod not listed—including Workshop mods—may not load. Use the actual ID from each mod’s mod.manifest; it is not necessarily the folder name. For example:

unlimited_saving_iininstant_herb_picking_iiDo not run multiple carry-weight, quick-save, stamina/combat, camera, weather/lighting or overlapping appearance mods without explicit compatibility instructions. If a mod does not work:
- Check its required game version, DLC, dependencies and installation notes.
- Confirm the folder contains
mod.manifestat the expected level. - Temporarily remove or rename
mod_order.txtif it may be excluding the mod. - Open
kcd.login the game’s root folder and search for[Mod]. No entry usually indicates a path or installation problem; an entry with an error points to compatibility, manifest or file issues. - Disable the newest addition and then other recently updated or overlapping mods one at a time.
- Check whether a new game patch invalidated the file.

Safe removal and save protection
- Exit the game.
- Disable the most recently installed mod.
- Launch and test before changing anything else.
- Remove or restore a problematic load-order file.
- Verify game files through Steam if vanilla files may have been altered.
- Restore a backup save if a quest, inventory or world-state mod caused damage.
Removing a mod does not guarantee that every changed state will disappear from an existing save. Treat save compatibility as an author claim only when the mod page explicitly makes it; otherwise, keep a clean backup and test on a separate save.

Official support, achievements and platforms
Steam Workshop is the officially recommended route, while manual installs and third-party managers are possible but unofficially supported. The community installation documentation states that installing mods does not disable achievements; unusual launch parameters or external tools may have their own caveats, so check the specific mod instructions. The documented ecosystem here is for PC and Steam folders. Do not assume these mods are available on PlayStation or Xbox.
Start with three or four compatible files, keep backups, and revisit every mod page after a game update. Popularity is not a substitute for current version support, clear installation instructions or save safety.
