The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti launched for retail sale on February 20, 2025, with a starting U.S. MSRP of $749. It launched through third-party board partners rather than an NVIDIA Founders Edition, so real prices, cooler designs, dimensions, noise, and stock varied by model and retailer.

Was February 20 officially confirmed?
NVIDIA’s CES 2025 announcement initially said that the RTX 5070 Ti would be available in February at $749. It did not necessarily establish the precise day in that first wording. Retail launch coverage subsequently identified February 20, 2025 as the date stores began offering the card, including reports from TechRadar and Tom’s Guide.
That date means retail availability, not a universal worldwide release hour. Store opening times, online launch times, time zones, inventory, and local distribution differed by country. Review publication or an embargo ending should not be confused with the moment a card could actually be purchased.

What did the RTX 5070 Ti cost?
$749 was a starting MSRP
$749 was the official U.S. starting price, not a guarantee that every model would sell for that amount. Board partners offered different coolers, factory overclocks, power limits, lighting, and warranties. Premium designs therefore carried higher prices, and taxes and shipping were additional costs.
Launch stock affected street prices
Launch-day trackers documented limited stock in some markets and listings above MSRP. Marketplace sellers could also set prices independently of the retailer. Later reporting showed that at least some cards reached approximately MSRP; for example, Tom’s Hardware reported a PNY model at about $750 in the United States. That historical listing should not be treated as a current September 2026 price. Check the seller, return policy, warranty region, and final checkout total before buying.

There was no Founders Edition
NVIDIA’s launch lineup consisted of add-in boards from companies including ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC. NVIDIA did not release a Founders Edition RTX 5070 Ti.

As a result, there is no single reference cooler or universal physical specification. A particular card may be two, three, or more slots thick, and its length, height, connector position, fan profile, factory clock, and power limit are model-specific. Confirm the manufacturer’s dimensions and power requirements against your case and power supply rather than relying on the RTX 5070 Ti name alone.

Core specifications and what they mean
The GB203-based Blackwell GPU has 70 streaming multiprocessors and 8,960 CUDA cores. Its 16GB of GDDR7 on a 256-bit bus gives it more memory headroom than lower-memory alternatives, particularly for high-resolution textures and ray-traced games. PCIe 5.0 support does not require a PCIe 5.0 motherboard; the card can operate in compatible earlier PCIe slots, subject to platform bandwidth.
NVIDIA describes the design as 300W-plus class, but total board power is not identical across every partner implementation. Use the exact card’s specification for PSU sizing, connector requirements, and cable routing. Large factory-overclocked models may need more clearance and airflow than a slimmer entry model.

Performance expectations
The RTX 5070 Ti was positioned primarily for high-refresh 1440p gaming and for 4K gaming when settings, the game engine, and upscaling are appropriate. Performance depends heavily on whether a title uses raster rendering or ray tracing and whether DLSS features are enabled.
Native rendering versus DLSS
Native-resolution results measure the GPU’s conventional rendering work. DLSS Super Resolution renders internally at a lower resolution and reconstructs the output, while Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation add AI-generated frames. A headline frame rate using those modes is not directly comparable with a native-rendered frame rate. Meaningful comparisons should identify the game, resolution, DLSS mode, driver, ray-tracing settings, and the specific board tested, and should consider latency and image quality as well as the displayed frame rate.

Should you buy an RTX 5070 Ti?
It made sense at or near $749 when:
- You wanted NVIDIA’s ray-tracing, DLSS, and Multi Frame Generation features.
- You targeted high-refresh 1440p or occasional 4K gaming.
- 16GB of VRAM mattered for your games or creative workloads.
- The chosen partner card fit your case, airflow plan, power supply, and budget.
Look elsewhere when:
- The card is priced close to an RTX 5080.
- A discounted RTX 4070 Ti Super offers comparable performance for substantially less.
- An RX 9070 XT provides better value for your raster-heavy game library.
- Your case, motherboard clearance, PSU cabling, or cooling cannot support the specific model.
Compatibility checklist
- Verify the exact card’s length, height, and slot thickness, including front-radiator and drive-cage clearance.
- Check the manufacturer’s recommended PSU wattage and the supplied GPU power connector or adapter.
- Confirm motherboard and case clearance around adjacent expansion slots.
- Plan adequate intake and exhaust airflow, especially for large three-slot designs.
- Check display outputs against your monitor resolution and refresh rate.
- Read the model’s regional warranty and registration requirements.
Buying today versus buying at launch
The launch decision and a current purchase decision are different. February 20, 2025 availability, launch scarcity, and the $749 starting MSRP describe the historical release. They do not establish a universal price or stock level in September 2026. Retail destinations include NVIDIA, Best Buy, Newegg, and Micro Center; verify live price, seller, stock, and return terms for the exact board.
