iKONIK was real, but it is no longer obtainable through an official promotion. Samsung and Epic offered the iKONIK outfit and Scenario emote to owners of qualifying Galaxy S10-series phones in 2019. The reward was tied to a time-limited device promotion, not sold as a normal Fortnite shop item or transferable code. Redemption closed during the September 25–26, 2019 transition, and there is no verified official route to claim it on a Galaxy S10 in 2026.
What the iKONIK bundle included
The name “iKONIK” refers primarily to the outfit. The complete promotional package also included the Scenario emote, whose choreography drew on iKON’s “Love Scenario.” Samsung described the outfit as a collaboration built around Jung Chanwoo of the K-pop group iKON. Samsung’s announcement placed iKONIK in the company’s expanding line of Galaxy-exclusive Fortnite cosmetics.
It is important not to confuse iKONIK with the earlier Galaxy outfit or the later Glow outfit. “IKONIK Bundle” is fan and database shorthand for the outfit-and-emote package; it was never a permanently stocked Fortnite bundle.
Why Samsung tied Fortnite to the Galaxy S10
Samsung turned a phone launch into access to a scarce digital collectible. The arrangement combined three powerful audiences: Galaxy buyers, Fortnite players and K-pop fans. The cosmetic was “free” only after a customer had access to a qualifying handset and completed the promotion’s account and storefront checks.

That structure created a peculiar form of scarcity marketing. Some players could justify an expensive phone partly because it unlocked a status item. Owners who did not play Fortnite could redeem it for someone else using the phone, while collectors valued the cosmetic more after the offer disappeared. The official promotion was legitimate; the controversy came from the high entry cost, unclear rules and the risky aftermarket that followed.
Which Galaxy phones qualified?
The main listed devices were the Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e. Some regional material also mentioned the S10 5G. Eligibility could vary by country, carrier and promotion terms, so no S10 variant should be treated as universally eligible.

How redemption worked in 2019
The following is an archive of the historical flow, not a working 2026 tutorial. Menu labels differed by region and Fortnite version.
- Install Fortnite on the eligible Galaxy phone through the supported Samsung Android route.
- Sign in to the Epic Games account that was meant to receive the cosmetics, or create one.
- Open the Item Shop or V-Bucks area and locate the iKONIK promotion.
- Confirm that Fortnite was using the Samsung storefront or purchase context where the regional instructions required it.
- Add a payment method if the promotion flow requested one.
- Accept the promotional claim in-game.
- After server-side processing, iKONIK and Scenario appeared on that Fortnite account.
A payment card could be requested even though the cosmetic itself was promotional. That prompt was part of the in-app purchase and eligibility flow; it did not establish that every user was charged, and requirements varied by market and account.
The redemption mishaps players reported
Contemporary Samsung Community discussions and player reports documented recurring failure modes. They are evidence that users encountered these problems, not proof that every S10 had the same bug.

- The iKONIK listing did not appear in the shop.
- The Samsung storefront option was missing.
- Fortnite displayed an “in-app purchases denied” message.
- Payment errors such as
E100008/6050blocked the flow. - Fortnite had been installed from an unsupported source, or the Samsung purchase context was wrong.
- The player was signed into an unintended Epic account.
- Users could not tell whether eligibility was tied to the handset, Samsung account, Epic account or payment profile.
The sensible troubleshooting logic was to verify the exact phone model and region, install Fortnite through the supported Samsung route, sign into the intended Epic account, activate the Samsung storefront context, and check that the offer had not expired. Repeated unofficial attempts were not a substitute for contacting Epic Player Support or Samsung. A factory reset did not create a new entitlement: the one-per-device rule and eligibility records were handled on the service side, as community discussions also noted. Reddit reports are anecdotal evidence of that limitation, not official technical documentation.

Surviving Samsung materials do not present one globally consistent final date.

What replaced iKONIK?
Samsung replaced the earlier promotion with the Glow outfit and Levitate emote for supported Galaxy owners. This handoff explains why an old video may correctly show a Samsung Fortnite offer but lead to Glow information rather than iKONIK. Glow was a successor promotion, not another name for iKONIK.

There is no verified official iKONIK code marketplace or current Epic redemption page. The historical claim was generally device- and account-based rather than a standard transferable code. A seller advertising an “iKONIK code” may actually be offering access to an account, a claim made through somebody else’s phone, a stolen account, a fake key or a phishing link. Community explanations also warned that supposed codes were not a normal redemption product. Third-party database guidance should not be treated as an official Epic offer.

- Fortnite cosmetics cannot be transferred from one account to another.
- A used phone cannot override an expired promotion or guarantee that its one-time device entitlement remains unused.
- Do not provide Epic credentials to a code seller, generator or “activation” service.
- If an old account legitimately owns iKONIK, secure that account with a unique password, protected email and two-factor authentication.
Can you still get iKONIK in 2026?
Not through a verified official promotion. Buying a used Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e or S10 5G is not a reliable way to obtain the bundle. The offer expired in 2019, regional rules differed, and a device may already have consumed its one-time entitlement. No legitimate marketplace price for an iKONIK code or activation service can be cited because no current official redemption product exists.
Old videos should be dated before trusting them. Check the upload date, Fortnite season, Android storefront, phone model, region and whether the video is actually about Glow or another Galaxy cosmetic.
Final verdict
iKONIK is best understood as a legitimate but expired experiment in hardware-gated digital scarcity. Samsung and Epic created a real K-pop-linked reward for Galaxy S10 owners, but awkward storefront rules, payment prompts, device limits and inconsistent expiry notices made claiming it harder than the word “free” suggested. Once Glow replaced it, scarcity turned iKONIK into a legacy status item—and made fake codes, account sales and phishing attempts more dangerous than the original promotion ever was.
