Yes. NVIDIA made Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 available on GeForce NOW at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time on October 24, 2024, the launch window that appeared as October 25 in many regions. However, GeForce NOW did not give every member the game for free: players needed a supported PC-store entitlement or eligible subscription, plus the required accounts and a suitable internet connection.
What happened at launch
Black Ops 6 launched globally on October 25, 2024. NVIDIA announced GeForce NOW availability beginning at 9:00 p.m. PT on October 24, so the service’s launch window crossed midnight into October 25 for much of the United States and other regions. NVIDIA’s announcement is the evidence for that historical timing: NVIDIA’s launch announcement.
That timing should not be confused with Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft announced cloud access at 10:00 a.m. PT on October 25, 2024, for Game Pass Ultimate members: Microsoft’s Xbox announcement.

GeForce NOW did not include the game automatically
GeForce NOW supplies remote gaming hardware and streaming software. It does not normally replace the game’s purchase or subscription entitlement. You still needed access to a supported PC version of Black Ops 6 through a connected storefront or qualifying subscription.

- A GeForce NOW membership gave you access to NVIDIA’s streaming service, subject to its plan, queues and session policies.
- A separate Steam, Battle.net, Xbox/Microsoft Store or PC Game Pass entitlement was required where that route was supported.
- An active Activision account was needed for Call of Duty services and progression.
NVIDIA’s documentation explains that PC Game Pass and Microsoft Store games are onboarded and tested individually, and some can arrive later than their PC release. Availability also varies by country: NVIDIA’s supported-games guidance.
Which storefront worked?
Steam
Activision’s current GeForce NOW support article explicitly lists the Steam version of Black Ops 6 as supported. NVIDIA also linked its launch announcement to the Call of Duty Steam listing: Activision’s GeForce NOW support page and the Steam listing.

Battle.net
NVIDIA’s October 2024 launch article listed Battle.net among the release storefronts. That is historical launch-announcement information, not proof that every Battle.net configuration remained universally available at every later point. Activision’s current wording specifically confirms Steam and says support for other platforms may be added later. The Battle.net family page is here.
Xbox, Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass
NVIDIA’s launch article also listed Xbox and PC Game Pass. In GeForce NOW, supported Microsoft Store or PC Game Pass titles appear as an Xbox store option. The title must be onboarded individually, your country must offer the relevant Game Pass features, and the Microsoft account connected to GeForce NOW must hold the entitlement. An Xbox console purchase should not be assumed to unlock the PC version.

Accounts you may need
- Create or sign in to a GeForce NOW account.
- Connect the relevant storefront account, such as Steam or Microsoft/Xbox.
- Make sure that account owns the supported PC version or has an active qualifying PC Game Pass entitlement.
- Sign in to, or link, your Activision account when Call of Duty requests it.
Activision documents an account-linking loop affecting some GeForce NOW users. If it occurs, exit the game, manage or link the Activision account through the Call of Duty profile website, then relaunch through GeForce NOW: Activision’s troubleshooting instructions.
How to launch it through GeForce NOW
- Install the GeForce NOW app or open it in a supported browser or device.
- Sign in to your NVIDIA account.
- Open Settings and connect the store account containing your entitlement.
- Search for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
- Select the matching store version; do not choose a different storefront from the one you own.
- Authenticate with the store and Activision accounts when prompted.
- Allow first-run updates, shader preparation or network setup to finish before entering a match.
Device, bandwidth and latency requirements
The game is rendered in NVIDIA’s data center, so a Chromebook, Mac, phone or low-power PC does not need to meet the full local PC specification. The client device and network still matter. NVIDIA’s current requirements specify:

NVIDIA requires latency below 80 ms to a GeForce NOW data center and recommends Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Fixes for common launch problems
The launcher says you do not own the game
- Check that you selected the same storefront where you bought the PC version.
- Reconnect the correct Steam, Battle.net, Xbox or Microsoft account in GeForce NOW.
- For Game Pass, confirm the subscription is active and that the Xbox/Microsoft route is supported in your country.
- Remember that a PlayStation or console-only purchase is not automatically a PC-store entitlement.
Activision sign-in keeps looping
Exit the session, link or manage the Activision account on the Call of Duty website, and start the game again through GeForce NOW.
Xbox saves or cloud data do not synchronize
Use NVIDIA’s Try Again option, then verify that the intended Xbox/Microsoft account is connected. Do not confuse an Xbox entitlement with a Steam entitlement: NVIDIA’s support guidance.
Which option makes sense?
- Choose GeForce NOW if you already own a supported PC version, have a capable low-latency connection and want to play on a Mac, Chromebook, browser, mobile device or supported TV.
- Choose Xbox Cloud Gaming if you already subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate and want the game included rather than buying a separate PC copy.
- Choose local PC play if you need the lowest input latency, have unreliable internet, want to avoid queues and streaming artifacts, or need a platform that is not clearly supported.
Launch-day availability did not guarantee queue-free sessions or identical performance on every device. Competitive multiplayer is especially sensitive to route quality, latency, controller input and regional capacity.
Verdict
The headline was accurate, with an important qualification: GeForce NOW supported launch-window streaming for Black Ops 6, beginning at 9:00 p.m. PT on October 24, 2024, but the service did not universally include the game. You needed the correct supported PC entitlement—most clearly the Steam version in Activision’s current documentation—along with the relevant storefront and Activision accounts. Game Pass Ultimate cloud access was a separate Xbox Cloud Gaming offer, not the same entitlement model.
