The free GeForce NOW month was a real Cities: Skylines II launch promotion, but it is no longer available. Paradox’s current campaign page says so explicitly, so buying the game now should not be expected to produce a membership code. The historical reward was one month of GeForce NOW Priority—not a free copy of the game.
What the promotion offered
Paradox offered qualifying buyers one month of GeForce NOW Priority around the game’s 2023 PC launch. NVIDIA reported the offer on October 26, 2023, describing it as a one-month Priority membership for people who picked up Cities: Skylines II. NVIDIA’s announcement confirms the historical benefit; Paradox’s promotion page now marks it as no longer available.
Priority was a GeForce NOW service membership, not game ownership. GeForce NOW streams supported games running on NVIDIA cloud hardware to compatible devices; players still need access to the game through a supported store. NVIDIA describes connections to libraries including Steam, Xbox, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect and GOG.com. A membership does not make every PC game streamable: support, device compatibility, regional availability, network quality and service policies all matter. The exact closing date is not established by the available official information. The practical answer is nevertheless clear: the offer is over, and a new purchase should not be made in expectation of a free month.

Who could claim it, and how the original redemption reportedly worked
Contemporary reporting said the campaign was limited to the first 100,000 purchasers and described a claim route involving a Paradox account linked to Steam. Those details come from Android Headlines’ coverage at the time, not from live terms on Paradox’s current page. The surviving information does not establish that every store, territory, edition or access method qualified. In particular, do not assume Game Pass access or a console purchase counted as the required purchase.

- Purchase the game during the promotion period, if eligible.
- Sign in to or create a Paradox account.
- Link that account to the relevant Steam account.
- Open the account’s Campaigns area and claim the offer.
- Retrieve the issued code and redeem it through GeForce NOW.
- Check that the membership activates before relying on it.
With the campaign closed, a missing Campaigns entry is not evidence that a purchase is defective; the offer itself is no longer active.

If you bought the game during the launch period
Owning the game does not by itself prove that a promotional entitlement was claimed, and an old code is not guaranteed to remain valid. If you still have a code, check its status directly with NVIDIA or Paradox before assuming it can be redeemed. If you cannot find a past claim or believe you qualified, use official account support; the current public page does not guarantee that unused codes remain redeemable.

Be cautious about anyone selling an allegedly unused code. It could already have been redeemed, expired, restricted by region or fraudulent. Do not pay a reseller unless legitimacy and redemption are independently confirmed.
Ways to access the game today
Paradox’s current Cities: Skylines II page lists Steam, Microsoft and Game Pass as access routes. Availability and pricing can change, so check the vendor listing for current terms. Game Pass may provide access while the game is included and the subscription is active; that is different from owning a permanent copy, and it does not establish eligibility for the expired promotion.

If cloud play is the goal, check NVIDIA’s current GeForce NOW membership page and confirm that the specific store version you can access is supported. NVIDIA’s present membership options have changed since 2023; do not assume a current plan has the same features or conditions as the old Priority code. GeForce NOW membership and game access remain separate considerations.
How to decide between local play and cloud streaming
- Choose local PC play if your computer can run the game to your satisfaction and you want to avoid streaming latency and bandwidth dependence. It requires suitable hardware; performance can depend on the system and city size.
- Consider GeForce NOW if your device is not powerful enough for local play and you have a reliable connection, while accepting that stream quality, latency, queues, session policies and supported stores affect the experience.
- Consider Game Pass if you prefer subscription access and accept that access depends on the game remaining included and your subscription staying active.
- Buy the game outright if you want the purchase independent of a subscription and the game itself justifies the cost. The discontinued bonus should not factor into the decision.
For current purchase routes, consult Paradox; for current cloud membership details, consult NVIDIA. Neither the historical launch prices nor the old Priority promotion describe today’s offer terms.
