The REDMAGIC 10 Pro won Android Headlines’ AH Reader’s Choice Awards: Best Gaming Phone 2024, published December 17, 2024. Android Headlines reported that it received 89% of the reader poll, ahead of the ASUS ROG Phone 9 at 8.7% and the Realme GT 7 Pro at 2.3%.
That is a clear historical reader preference, not an independently audited declaration that the phone is superior in every category. In 2026, availability is also decisive: REDMAGIC’s global product page shows the 10 Pro at $599 against a $649 reference price, but marks it sold out.
The REDMAGIC 10 Pro won by a wide reader margin
Android Headlines published the award on December 17, 2024, naming the phone its reader-voted Best Gaming Phone of 2024. The reported results were:

Why gaming-phone buyers favored it
Flagship performance aimed at games
The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. That gives it the high-end CPU and GPU foundation expected for demanding games, emulation and high-refresh play. The award coverage presents the chipset as a central reason for the win, but it does not publish independent benchmark results, frame-time charts or game-by-game testing.
Cooling designed for longer sessions
REDMAGIC combines a liquid-metal cooling system with its ICE-X gaming design. This is relevant because sustained performance depends on how well a phone manages heat after the first few minutes, not only on a short benchmark burst. Cooling hardware is not, by itself, proof of a particular temperature, frame rate or absence of throttling. Room temperature, brightness, case use, network conditions, game optimization and performance mode still matter.

Ultrasonic shoulder triggers
Built-in ultrasonic triggers can turn two shoulder areas into additional controls. They are especially useful for shooters, MOBAs and racing games where simultaneous movement, aiming and actions are easier with more physical inputs. Their value depends on a game’s mapping support, your hand position and whether you prefer triggers to touch controls; they do not improve every genre automatically.

The phone has a 7,050mAh dual battery, a substantial advantage for long sessions and travel. Android Headlines described the model with 120W charging. The current global product page instead lists up to 100W charging and an 80W GaN charger. Those figures may reflect regional configurations, packaging or different documentation, so verify the exact model and included charger before buying.

Display built around uninterrupted play
REDMAGIC’s current product page lists a 1.5K display, up to 2,000 nits and a 144Hz refresh rate, alongside an uninterrupted screen design. Actual brightness, refresh behavior and game support vary by mode and software.
What the award proves—and what it does not
The result establishes that Android Headlines readers strongly preferred the REDMAGIC 10 Pro in that 2024 poll. It does not establish:

The manufacturer currently states five years of software support in the EU and UK and three years in other regions. That is a manufacturer policy claim, not a promise of five years of major Android-version upgrades; security support and operating-system upgrades can differ.

REDMAGIC 10 Pro versus ASUS ROG Phone 9
The poll’s second-place ASUS ROG Phone 9 represents a different balance. REDMAGIC concentrates on aggressive gaming hardware: shoulder triggers, a very large battery and dedicated cooling. ASUS’s gaming range emphasizes its own AirTriggers, accessories and broader gaming ecosystem; Android Headlines discusses those features in its ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition coverage.

Neither vote share nor the award article supplies a controlled head-to-head test. Choose between them based on the games you play, accessory needs, camera and everyday-phone priorities, regional support and the actual price available to you.
Is the REDMAGIC 10 Pro still worth buying in 2026?
Only conditionally. The official REDMAGIC 10 Pro page currently shows a $599 sale price against $649, but the handset is marked sold out. REDMAGIC’s catalog lists newer models, including the REDMAGIC 11S Pro from $799, the REDMAGIC 11 Air from $499 and the REDMAGIC 11 Pro from $699; the captured catalog view marks the 11 Air and 11 Pro sold out as well. A discounted 10 Pro can make sense when a reputable seller offers a meaningful price advantage and you value gaming hardware more than the newest software lifecycle. An older or imported unit needs additional checks:
- Confirm whether it is the global, Chinese or another regional model.
- Check the exact 4G and 5G bands against your carrier; “unlocked” does not guarantee full support on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or an MVNO.
- Verify the charger, charging rate, electrical plug and software configuration.
- Confirm manufacturer or seller warranty coverage and return terms.
- For used devices, check battery health, repairs, replacement parts and Google Play availability.
The global product page lists a 12-month phone warranty, six months for accessories and 15-day returns, but regional eligibility and exclusions apply.
Who should buy it?
- Players who spend long sessions in shooters, MOBAs, racing games, action RPGs or emulators.
- Buyers who want physical triggers, a large battery and gaming-focused cooling.
- People willing to trade camera performance, compactness and mainstream support for gaming features.
- Shoppers who can verify the exact regional model, network bands, charger and warranty.
Who should skip it?
- Camera-first users or anyone requiring a conventional flagship’s imaging experience.
- Buyers who need confirmed water resistance, eSIM or broad carrier and retail support.
- People who want the newest generation and the clearest long-term software path.
- Casual gamers unlikely to use shoulder triggers or sustained-performance controls.
Verdict
The REDMAGIC 10 Pro earned Android Headlines’ 2024 reader award because it puts flagship performance, cooling, battery capacity and physical controls ahead of conventional-phone priorities. The 89% result is compelling evidence of reader enthusiasm, but it is not laboratory validation or a current buying guarantee. In 2026, stock, regional specifications, support, carrier compatibility and the price of newer models should determine whether this award winner is still the right phone for you.
