Logitech announced the G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL on June 25, 2024: a low-profile mechanical gaming keyboard with LIGHTSPEED wireless, Bluetooth, USB-C wired mode and a tenkeyless layout. Its U.S. launch MSRP was $139; Logitech also announced a wired G515 TKL at $99 for later in 2024. Those are launch prices, not verified 2026 prices.
What is the Logitech G515 TKL?
The G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL is a compact gaming keyboard that keeps the function row, navigation keys and arrow keys but omits the number pad. “TKL” means tenkeyless. It is a low-profile mechanical keyboard, not a membrane or laptop-style scissor board, and Logitech offered the wireless model in black and white.
The design targets players who want a smaller desk footprint and lower key height without giving up wireless play. Logitech’s product page lists LIGHTSPEED, Bluetooth, USB-C wired use, LIGHTSYNC RGB and KEYCONTROL customization. Logitech G515 product page

How does the low-profile design feel?
The keyboard measures 22.14 mm high, 354.75 mm wide and 146 mm deep, and weighs 880 g, according to Logitech’s specification. It has a 1.3 mm ± 0.30 mm actuation distance and 3.2 mm ± 0.25 mm total travel. Logitech presents the shorter key travel as a route to quicker actions, but that is a design rationale, not proof that every player will perform better. Familiarity, accuracy and switch preference matter too.

The lower height may feel familiar to laptop users and can reduce wrist extension compared with a taller board. Logitech says the slim design does not require a wrist rest, though comfort is personal. Logitech lists PBT keycaps, pre-lubricated switches, integrated stabilizers and sound-dampening foam. Tom’s Hardware described its review unit’s double-shot PBT caps as thick, textured and premium-feeling; that is the reviewer’s impression of the tested unit, not a guarantee that every user will prefer its feel or sound.

Which switches does it use?
The original G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL uses conventional low-profile mechanical switches, offered in tactile and linear versions. Both have a stated actuation point of 1.3 mm and total travel of about 3.2 mm.

- Linear: Logitech specifies approximately 43 ± 10 gf actuation force. Its smooth press may suit players who prefer an uninterrupted stroke or repeated inputs.
- Tactile: Logitech specifies approximately 45 ± 10 gf. The bump can make actuation easier to feel, which some people prefer for typing.
Neither type is universally faster or better. Choose according to the feel you want, and do not mistake the original G515’s switches for analog or Hall-effect hardware.
How can you connect it, and how long does the battery last?
The wireless model supports LIGHTSPEED through its USB receiver, Bluetooth, and USB-C wired data mode. Logitech also advertised 2:1 LIGHTSPEED pairing, which lets a compatible Logitech G mouse share the keyboard’s receiver and potentially free a USB port. That is most useful if you already own a compatible mouse. Bluetooth is convenient for another device, but the available specifications do not establish that it performs like LIGHTSPEED for competitive gaming.
Logitech rates the 1,500 mAh rechargeable battery for up to 36 hours of continuous use. This is a maximum rating, not a guaranteed runtime; lighting brightness and effects, connection mode and usage affect battery life. USB-C wired use avoids relying on the battery while playing. Logitech lists the battery as non-user-replaceable, a serviceability consideration for long-term ownership.

What does KEYCONTROL let you customize?
KEYCONTROL is Logitech’s software-based assignment system. Logitech says each key can perform up to 15 different actions using layers, modifiers such as G SHIFT, macros, audio cues, lighting effects and switchable layouts. The figure refers to software-defined actions, not 15 physical keys or simultaneous inputs.

Game rules, tournament policies and anti-cheat systems may restrict macros or automated sequences. KEYCONTROL does not give the original G515 analog input.
How does the G515 compare with the G515 RAPID?
The G515 RAPID TKL is a later, separate product—not a switch variant of the original wireless G515. Logitech introduced it in 2025 as a wired low-profile analog keyboard with adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger-style features. Logitech’s G515 RAPID announcement

For another Logitech low-profile wireless option, the G915 X LIGHTSPEED TKL sits higher in the range. Logitech’s catalog has shown it at a promotional $209.99 against a displayed $229.99 reference price, but that time-sensitive offer is not a current-price guarantee. Logitech also announced a €149.99 European launch price for the wireless model. The official catalog has carried G515 listings and promotional bundle signals, but those do not establish today’s availability or price in a specific region. Logitech’s June 2024 launch announcement

Who should buy the G515?
- Consider it if you want a low-profile mechanical feel, wireless play with a USB-C wired option, or a TKL board for a smaller desk. It is especially relevant if you already use Logitech G gear and can benefit from shared receiver pairing.
- Look elsewhere if you need a number pad, hot-swappable switches, a user-replaceable battery, or the deeper feel of a full-height mechanical keyboard. The G515 is also the wrong choice if adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger are must-haves; those features belong to the wired G515 RAPID.
- Check your workflow if you depend on dedicated media controls or office-style multi-device switching. Confirm the exact regional layout and supported device switching before buying.
For basic typing, the keyboard’s listed connection modes are distinct from G HUB’s customization support; the available specifications do not establish identical advanced-feature support across Mac, ChromeOS, mobile devices and consoles. Check current compatibility information for your host. If G HUB does not detect the board, try a direct USB connection and a data-capable cable, restart G HUB and the computer, and check Logitech support for current firmware and pairing instructions. Basic keyboard input can still be used while software issues are investigated.
Wireless and software troubleshooting
If the receiver connection is unreliable
- Connect the receiver directly or use the supplied adapter, then try another USB port.
- Move it away from USB 3 hubs, Wi-Fi equipment and other potential interference sources.
- Test the keyboard in USB wired mode and check whether G HUB detects it.
- Check for firmware updates and follow Logitech’s current model-specific re-pairing procedure.
Do not assume a replacement receiver is sold separately; check regional spare-part availability with Logitech before ordering one.
If battery life falls short of the rating
Reduce RGB brightness or switch lighting off, use wired mode when convenient, and check firmware and sleep behavior. If the battery is swollen, unusually hot or physically damaged, stop using and charging the keyboard and contact Logitech support.

If G HUB does not detect the keyboard
Try USB wired mode, restart the application and computer, and reinstall G HUB from Logitech’s official product support route. A charging-only cable, outdated software, firmware mismatch, background software or permissions may interfere. Also confirm that you are not connecting over Bluetooth while expecting a LIGHTSPEED-specific feature.
