These are three separate claims from the 2024 holiday-deal period, not a single offer—and none is established as live today. Best Buy’s $719 black Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Amazon’s $38 Sony WH-CH520 headphones were documented historical prices. The claim of 15% off PS5 consoles lacks enough detail to verify: no specific model, retailer, or discount terms are established.
Deal status at a glance
| Product | Claimed price | Retailer and date | Status and caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Watch Ultra 2, black titanium | $719, reported as $80 below the then-$799 price | Best Buy, holiday doorbuster in November 2024; the deal was reported again in December 2024 | Historical and expired. The price depended on selecting a qualifying color and band configuration. |
| Sony WH-CH520 | $38 | Amazon, documented in 2024; another $38 deal was reported in June 2026 | Historical; the reports do not establish that $38 is available now. This on-ear model has no active noise cancellation. |
| PS5 consoles | 15% off | Retailer and date for this exact claim not established | Unverified. Later 2025 Black Friday coverage described $100 off selected consoles, which does not verify a universal 15% discount. |
Old deal pages and search results can remain visible after prices change. Treat these figures as past prices unless a retailer’s live product page confirms the exact model, seller, price, and terms.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 for $719: a real historical Best Buy deal
Best Buy advertised a black Apple Watch Ultra 2 for $719 during its 2024 holiday doorbusters, compared with the $799 price cited at the time. The $80 difference is about 10% of that then-current price. The offer was also reported as returning in December. 9to5Mac’s November 2024 deal coverage and its December 2024 update document the promotion.
Check the configuration, not just the headline
The qualifying offer was tied to a particular color-and-band configuration; switching the band or finish could change the price. The available reporting does not establish every listing detail, such as the exact band size or whether every configuration had the same price. Ultra 2 models include cellular capability, but confirm the product listing before checkout. The cited deal coverage describes Best Buy’s promotion; it does not establish a membership requirement, the condition of every unit, or the applicable warranty and return terms.

- WHY APPLE WATCH ULTRA 2 — Rugged, capable, and built to meet the demands of endurance athletes, outdoor adventurers, and water sport enthusiasts — with a specialized band for each. The S9 SiP enables a superbright display and a magical new way to quickly and easily interact with your Apple Watch without touching the display. Up to 36 hours of battery life and 72 hours in Low Power Mode.
- CARBON NEUTRAL — Apple Watch Ultra 2 paired with the latest Alpine Loop or Trail Loop is carbon neutral. Learn more about Apple’s commitment to the environment at apple.com/2030.
- EXTREMELY RUGGED, INCREDIBLY CAPABLE — 49mm corrosion-resistant titanium case. Large Digital Crown and Customizable Action button for instant control over a variety of functions. 100m water resistance.
- BIGGEST, BRIGHTEST DISPLAY YET — Apple’s brightest Always-On Retina display is easy to see, even in direct sunlight. More room for adding complications to customize your watch face and enough space to view six metrics at once.
- THE FREEDOM OF CELLULAR — Cellular is built in. You can call and text without your iPhone, even overseas with international roaming. Stream your favorite music and podcasts. Get directions with Maps.
Do not treat the 2024 $719 figure as an all-time low for every Ultra 2 configuration: price-history claims can differ by band, retailer, and promotion. For any present-day listing, verify that it is new rather than open-box or refurbished, check the seller, and review the return window and Apple warranty status. Apple’s Watch overview and buying page provide official product context, not confirmation of the expired Best Buy price.
Who should consider an Ultra 2?
It makes most sense for an iPhone owner who will use the rugged titanium build, larger bright display, outdoor and fitness tools, cellular connectivity, or diving- and depth-related hardware. If you mainly want notifications and basic activity tracking, do not need a large premium watch, or use Android, this is a poor fit. Compare the price of any current Ultra generation before paying near-premium-watch money for an older model.

PS5 at 15% off: the headline claim is not verified
The 15% figure is too vague to support a buying decision. The available evidence does not identify whether it applied to a PS5 Slim with disc drive, Slim Digital Edition, PS5 Pro, or a bundle—or which retailer ran it and when. It also does not say whether the saving was a direct checkout markdown, coupon, membership offer, trade-in credit, gift card, or bundle-value calculation.
Later Black Friday coverage described $100 reductions on selected PS5 consoles in 2025, but that is a different promotion and cannot establish the original 15% claim. See the 2025 promotion report for that later offer. A current Target deals page or the U.S. PlayStation Direct storefront may help check present listings, but neither verifies the old headline on its own.

How to judge a console promotion
- Identify the exact edition and bundle, and compare its checkout price with the current price for that same configuration.
- Separate an immediate markdown from savings that depend on trading in a console, joining a membership, or receiving a gift card later.
- Check whether a bundled game is one you want and whether the bundle raises the effective cost.
- Confirm stock, shipping, included controller and cables, and any game voucher before ordering.
A direct discount on the disc-drive model, a current first-party game at little or no added cost, or a useful second controller can make a deal more appealing. Digital-only saves on the initial purchase but cannot play physical discs. PS5 Pro value depends on display quality, performance preferences, and support in the games you play; it is a weak fit for many casual players using a standard 1080p screen. If you already own a PS5, a small discount alone is not a reason to upgrade. Sony’s PS5 overview is a starting point for distinguishing current models.

The $38 offer was for Sony’s WH-CH520, Bluetooth wireless on-ear headphones—not a WH-1000XM-series noise-canceling model. Deal reports documented the price at Amazon in 2024, while regular pricing was described as roughly $60–$70 depending on source and date. A further $38 promotion was reported in June 2026, but that does not establish a live price now. The historical offer appears in Android Authority’s deal coverage and a Slickdeals listing; Yahoo’s June 2026 report describes another instance. Sony lists specifications on its official WH-CH520 product page.

What the WH-CH520 offers—and what it does not
- On-ear Bluetooth design with a built-in microphone and multipoint connection.
- USB-C charging and Sony Headphones Connect app support, including EQ customization.
- Sony rates battery life at up to 50 hours; actual runtime varies with settings and use. Some deal coverage has reported more than 55 hours under particular conditions.
- No active noise cancellation, and the on-ear fit is not the same as an over-ear seal.
At $38, they suit casual listening, calls, commuting on a budget, or a child or teen who needs simple wireless headphones. Skip them if you need ANC for flights, strong isolation, water resistance, premium bass, or an over-ear fit. Their lower price reflects a simpler feature set; they are not a like-for-like alternative to premium ANC headphones.
Buy now or wait?
- Apple Watch Ultra 2: Regard $719 as a historically strong 2024 price, not an active offer. Compare current Ultra-generation prices and confirm the exact band and condition before buying.
- PS5: Wait until a retailer identifies the console edition and shows a direct price reduction or clearly explains any conditions. The 15% claim alone is not enough.
- Sony WH-CH520: $38 was a documented low-cost sale price. If you need inexpensive everyday headphones, consider a current listing at that price only after confirming the seller, color, condition, delivery, and return policy.
For any deal, compare the actual recent selling price rather than relying only on a list-price comparison. Include tax, shipping, coupon requirements, and membership costs in the effective price, and check whether the seller is authorized and provides the expected manufacturer warranty.
