Samsung Island was a Samsung-branded Fortnite Creative experience launched in March 2023 to promote the Galaxy S23 series. It was not a new Battle Royale island. Instead, players explored a Galaxy-themed map, visited a virtual Samsung showroom and used fictionalized versions of S23 features such as zoom, Nightography and Knox. Launch coverage listed the island code 8526-6648-9508, but its availability in 2026 is unverified.
What Samsung Island was
Samsung Island was the broad name for Samsung’s Fortnite activation. Reports also called the updated virtual environment Samsung SmartCity. It existed inside Fortnite’s creator-made Creative ecosystem, separate from the standard Battle Royale island and its seasonal map.
Samsung’s Latin American newsroom described the project as an immersive way to connect Galaxy products, brand messages and players. The March 2023 announcement window was March 7–9, while Samsung’s regional newsroom article is dated March 21, 2023. Those dates matter because some republished pages can look like newer news.
The S23 promotion expanded an environment that had previously featured Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 products, according to Android Headlines.
#1 Best Overall
- Galaxy S23 sports a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X flat display with adaptive 48–120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness high enough for strong outdoor visibility — giving you vibrant, crisp visuals and smooth motion while staying compact.
Galaxy S23 features became Fortnite abilities
The map translated product features into game mechanics. These were themed representations created for Fortnite, not Samsung’s actual camera hardware, operating system or Knox security stack running inside the game.
Zoom
A zoom ability let players inspect distant objects and search for details or hidden Easter eggs. Samsung presented this as an interactive interpretation of the S23’s long-distance-zoom messaging; the reports do not establish an independent resolution or performance test inside Fortnite.
Nightography
A Nightography-themed ability helped players see or explore dark areas. It functioned as a game-world visibility mechanic inspired by Samsung’s low-light photography branding, not as the S23 camera operating through Fortnite.

- Fully Unlocked Version. Compatible with Most GSM and CDMA Carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, AT&T, MetroPCS, etc. Will Also work with CDMA Carriers Such as Verizon, Sprint.
Knox protection
A Knox-inspired button or protective effect gave players an additional defensive gameplay attribute. It was a fictional protection layer for the map and should not be confused with Samsung Knox security on a real Galaxy device.
Fun Game Quest: the hide-and-seek activity
The central reported activity was Fun Game Quest, described as a hide-and-seek-style round. Players searched the environment for hidden virtual Galaxy S23 phones and tried to retain them until the round ended. Enhanced abilities could help locate objects and uncover map secrets.
The available reports support a hunt for virtual devices. They do not establish a universal promotion in which every participant could win a physical Galaxy S23, nor do they provide general giveaway rules or eligibility terms.

What was in the virtual showroom?
Samsung SmartCity also worked as an interactive product display. The reported lineup included the following products and categories:
| Reported item | How it appeared in coverage |
|---|---|
| Galaxy S23 series | S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra references, plus the phones used in Fun Game Quest |
| Foldables | Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 in broader SmartCity coverage |
| Gaming television | Samsung QN90B |
| Lifestyle televisions | The Frame, The Serif, The Sero and The Terrace |
| Projector | The Freestyle |
| Gaming monitors | Samsung Odyssey displays |
This was a promotional, regionally reported catalog rather than a guarantee that every market or map version contained the same products.
How players entered it at launch
Samsung-related coverage listed this Fortnite Creative code for the main Samsung Island/SmartCity activation:
Rank #4
- It offers a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 48-120 Hz refresh rate plus up to ~ 1750 nits peak brightness and “Vision Booster,” meaning the screen stays bright and viewable even in strong sunlight — great if you use your phone outdoors a lot.
8526-6648-9508
- Open Fortnite and reach its search or discovery interface for Creative and creator-made islands.
- Enter
8526-6648-9508. - Check the displayed island name and creator before launching.
- If no island appears, treat the map as unavailable or unpublished rather than assuming the code was mistyped.
Menu labels vary by platform and Fortnite version, so the exact path may differ. The code is historical launch information, not a current-access guarantee. The code and feature descriptions were reported by SamMobile, Android Headlines and a Samsung Community repost.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why different names and codes appear
Samsung’s Fortnite work was not necessarily one globally identical map. Coverage uses several names:
| Name | Likely context |
|---|---|
| Samsung Island | Broad Samsung-branded Fortnite environment |
| Samsung SmartCity | Virtual Samsung world or showroom name used in several reports |
| Galaxy City | Brazilian regional activation terminology |
| S23 Island | Newer island within the Brazilian Galaxy City description |
Brazilian coverage from GKPB listed a different code, 5196-2860-3210, for Galaxy City/S23 Island. Do not substitute it for the more widely reported SmartCity code; it may represent a regional or partner-created activation.

What Samsung Island did—and did not—prove
Why the format was effective
- It turned feature marketing into interactive exploration rather than a static product advertisement.
- It placed phones, TVs, projectors and monitors in one navigable branded environment.
- It used Fortnite’s social and creator-island format to reach players who might not seek a conventional product demonstration.
Its limits
- The zoom, Nightography and Knox concepts were fictionalized mechanics, not independent evidence of real-world S23 performance.
- The map depended on Fortnite’s publishing and discovery system, so long-term availability was uncertain.
- Regional names, catalogs and codes make universal access instructions unreliable.
Samsung also promoted a separate Minecraft campaign called “Diamond Planet 23.” That was not the Fortnite island; the distinction is noted in Samsung’s newsroom account.
Can you still play Samsung Island in 2026?
There is no current official Fortnite listing confirming that the Samsung island remains published or playable on August 18, 2026. Fortnite Creative islands can be unpublished, revised, renamed or replaced. You can try the historical code in Fortnite, but a missing result should be understood as a status change, not necessarily a user error.
The activation should therefore be described as a March 2023 campaign. Installing Fortnite does not guarantee access, and buying a Galaxy S23 was never established as a requirement to enter it. Readers considering an S23 should also remember that it is a 2023 generation; the promotion itself is not a reason to choose an older phone over a newer model.
