Fortnite is now available on Windows 11 Arm PCs that use Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Epic Games and Qualcomm announced the compatibility work on March 13, 2025; Epic Online Services (EOS) Anti-Cheat support arrived on August 12, 2025, and Fortnite launched on Windows on Snapdragon devices on November 3, 2025. Epic’s May 19, 2026 update says nearly all EOS services now support Windows on Arm, except the social overlay.
What Epic and Qualcomm actually announced
This was primarily a platform-compatibility project, not a Qualcomm-exclusive Fortnite edition. Epic worked with Qualcomm Technologies to add Windows-on-Snapdragon support to EOS Anti-Cheat, commonly known as Easy Anti-Cheat, and use Fortnite as the first major demonstration of that work.
Epic’s stated goal was to give developers using its anti-cheat technology a path to supporting Snapdragon-powered Windows devices. Hundreds of multiplayer games use Easy Anti-Cheat, but each publisher still has to integrate, configure, test and ship support for its own title.
The original announcement promised Fortnite for Snapdragon devices later in 2025. That promise has since been fulfilled: Epic says Fortnite became available on Windows on Snapdragon devices on November 3, 2025.

Why anti-cheat was harder than running an x64 game
Windows on Snapdragon uses Arm processors, while most traditional Windows games were built for x64 PCs. Windows can translate many x64 applications so they launch on Arm hardware, but that does not guarantee that every component of an online game will work.
Game-code emulation
An x64 game executable can run through Windows’ translation layer. Translation may introduce overhead or expose incompatibilities, but the game itself can sometimes start without being rebuilt for Arm.
Low-level anti-cheat support
Anti-cheat software can interact with operating-system and hardware features at a lower level than ordinary application code. Epic said additional tooling was needed because anti-cheat software uses x64-specific features. An emulated game executable therefore does not automatically mean its anti-cheat component is compatible.

Native Arm is a separate question
Epic’s verified announcement establishes Windows-on-Snapdragon availability and anti-cheat support. It does not establish that every part of Fortnite is compiled as a native Arm64 build. Fortnite may include native, translated or mixed components depending on the release; availability should not be presented as proof of a wholly native Arm executable.

The later SDK milestone is broader than the original anti-cheat release. A developer using EOS SDK 1.19.1 or a subsequent release can add Windows-on-Arm support for the supported services, but the social overlay remains the stated exception in Epic’s May 2026 update.
Which PCs does this cover?
The relevant category is a Windows 11 Arm PC with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, including Snapdragon X-series laptops. Epic’s support page specifically confirms Fortnite availability on Windows 11 Arm-based PCs with Snapdragon processors: Epic Fortnite support.
This is not the same as saying every Arm-based Windows device has identical support. Results can vary with the Snapdragon generation, Windows build, OEM firmware, graphics driver, memory configuration and device security settings. The “Copilot+ PC” label is Microsoft’s product category, not a separate Fortnite requirement; the material question is whether the particular machine runs a supported Windows-on-Snapdragon configuration.

How to install Fortnite
There is no documented requirement for a separate “Fortnite Arm edition” or Qualcomm launcher. Use the normal Epic distribution path:
- Confirm that the laptop runs Windows 11 on a Snapdragon processor.
- Install the Epic Games Launcher from Epic’s official download page.
- Sign in to an Epic Games account, or create one.
- Find Fortnite in the launcher and install it.
- Before playing, install current Windows updates and the laptop maker’s firmware and graphics-driver updates.
Fortnite is free to play; installing the launcher does not require buying the game. Epic’s active release documentation includes Fortnite ecosystem notes for version 40.00 published March 19, 2026: Fortnite release notes.
What performance should you expect?
The announcement and support documentation verify availability, not a universal performance target. They do not establish a frame rate, resolution, battery-life result or parity with an Intel- or AMD-based gaming laptop.
Performance will vary by Snapdragon model, cooling design, memory, display resolution, graphics settings, driver version and Windows build. Snapdragon laptops generally use integrated Qualcomm graphics rather than the discrete GPUs common in gaming laptops, so a thin, quiet system that can run Fortnite is not automatically the best choice for high-refresh competitive play. Look for testing of the exact model you intend to buy.

What this means for other Easy Anti-Cheat games
EOS support is an ecosystem unlock, not a universal compatibility switch. A publisher that already uses Easy Anti-Cheat has a supported SDK path, which can reduce engineering work for Windows on Arm. The publisher must still integrate the relevant release, test its game and validate its multiplayer services.
Games using BattlEye, Riot Vanguard, a custom anti-cheat system, kernel-level drivers or other unsupported middleware need separate support. Fortnite working on Snapdragon therefore does not prove that a broader PC library will work.

Check the platform, not just the branding
- Verify Windows 11 Arm and the exact Snapdragon model.
- Check the manufacturer’s current BIOS, firmware and graphics-driver support.
- Compare RAM, display resolution and refresh rate, cooling and sustained-performance design.
- Confirm the return policy if Fortnite is a primary reason for the purchase.
Qualcomm’s platform information is available at Snapdragon X Series. A Snapdragon laptop may suit portability and battery-conscious use, but Intel- or AMD-based gaming laptops remain the safer choice for a broad established PC-game library, discrete graphics and mod compatibility.
Competitive-play considerations
Anti-cheat support is the key improvement, but current Fortnite security requirements can still matter. Secure Boot, TPM, IOMMU and other settings may affect particular competitive or tournament features. Check Epic’s current support guidance for the exact error before changing firmware or BIOS settings. General PC anti-cheat requirements should not be confused with the Arm announcement itself.

Troubleshooting common problems
Fortnite launches but multiplayer fails
- Update Windows in Settings.
- Install the laptop maker’s current firmware and graphics drivers.
- Update the Epic Games Launcher and Fortnite.
- Use the launcher’s file-verification option.
- Repair or reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat through the Fortnite installation.
- Check Epic’s current support documentation before changing BIOS security settings.
Device-specific community commands are not a reliable substitute for current Epic instructions, so avoid applying an unofficial repair blindly.
The game works but a feature does not
Epic’s May 19, 2026 EOS update expressly excludes the social overlay. A game can therefore have broad EOS and anti-cheat support on Arm while an overlay-related feature remains unavailable.
An x64 game runs badly
Launching through translation does not guarantee good performance. CPU translation overhead, graphics-driver maturity, shader compilation, unsupported instructions and game-specific middleware can all affect results.
Windows has been reinstalled
Microsoft provides Windows 11 Arm64 installation media, but warns that devices may need additional drivers for full functionality. On many Snapdragon systems, the OEM recovery image is the safer reinstall route. See Microsoft’s Windows 11 Arm ISO guidance.

The bottom line for Windows-on-Arm gaming
Epic and Qualcomm’s March 2025 announcement became a real platform milestone: Fortnite is available on Windows 11 Snapdragon PCs, and Epic’s anti-cheat work addresses one of the most important barriers to multiplayer gaming on Arm. The result is meaningful for developers and players, but it is not a promise that every PC game, every overlay or every Snapdragon laptop will behave the same way. Treat Fortnite availability as title-specific support, and judge performance using tests of the exact device you plan to use.
