TEKKEN 7 is the Windows/Steam version of Bandai Namco Studios’ fighting game, published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was built with Unreal Engine 4, with detailed character models and dynamic environments.

The Windows version caveat
The game listing still presents Windows 7/8/10 as supported targets, but Steam separately states that its client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024. In practice, check Steam’s current client policy and the store page before installing on Windows 7 or 8; the storefront requirement can change independently of the game’s original specification.

What these specifications mean
A system around the minimum specification is intended to launch the game, while the recommended GTX 1060-class graphics card and Core i5-4690-class processor provide more headroom for the listed experience. A 60 GB requirement is storage reserved for the installation, not a guarantee that future updates or DLC will fit within exactly that amount.

Single-player and local play
The Windows release has the story campaign and other solo fighting content, plus shared- or split-screen PvP for local matches. A compatible controller is optional hardware; the game itself is sold digitally through Steam.
Online play and Steam integration
Broadband internet is listed as a requirement, and the Steam edition supports online PvP, online tournament modes, leaderboards, achievements, Trading Cards and Steam Cloud. Remote Play Together can stream a local-style match to another participant, while Remote Play on TV and Family Sharing depend on the relevant Steam features and account conditions.

Steam lists three season passes alongside individual add-ons. Contents and regional availability can change, so treat the Steam catalog as the current authority before buying a bundle.

Choosing the base game versus bundles
- Buy the base game if you mainly want the core roster, story and standard online/local modes and do not need every post-launch fighter.
- Choose a season pass or bundle when you already know you want several of its characters or stages; compare the exact included items rather than assuming a pass contains every add-on.
- Add individual DLC when only one fighter, stage, costume pack or Frame Data Display matches your needs.
The Frame Data Display is particularly relevant to players who practice competitively, but it is listed as an add-on rather than something to assume is included with every base-game purchase.
Is TEKKEN 7 still worth buying on Windows?
It remains a sensible PC purchase for players who want TEKKEN 7’s story mode, established roster, local multiplayer and Steam-based online play. The main decision is not whether the Windows edition exists—it does—but how much of the DLC catalog you actually need and whether your current Windows installation meets Steam’s client requirements.

Good reasons to buy
- You want the complete TEKKEN 7 story and arcade-era PC release rather than a newer title.
- You play on PC and value Steam Cloud, achievements, Remote Play and local split-screen options.
- You want to select DLC fighters individually instead of paying for content you will not use.
- Your computer is at or above the recommended Core i5/GTX 1060-class specification.
Reasons to check before buying
- The game’s published operating-system list is older, while Steam’s current client policy starts at Windows 10 from January 1, 2024.
- Season passes and individual add-ons are separate purchasing decisions; verify each bundle’s current contents.
- Steam pricing, discounts and regional availability are volatile, so use the live store listing for the final price.
Windows edition, console editions and physical releases
The documented PC release is a digital Steam product. Bandai Namco’s launch announcement described a Collector’s Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that included a statue, steelbook and soundtrack; that announcement does not establish a boxed Windows edition. Do not assume a console Collector’s Edition or physical disc is available for PC.
Release history and sales context
Steam lists June 1, 2017 as the release date, while Bandai Namco’s Americas announcement says the PC launch arrived through Steam on June 2, 2017. Bandai Namco reported more than 6 million units sold in a September 28, 2020 corporate announcement. That is a dated milestone, not a current lifetime-sales total.
