The first title is Grounded 2, Obsidian’s sequel—not the original Grounded—and neither game was automatically included with a GeForce NOW membership.

Grounded 2 was available at early access launch
Obsidian Entertainment’s backyard survival sequel launched into early access on July 29, 2025, and was reported as playable through GeForce NOW at launch. It brings cooperative survival, crafting, exploration and combat to an oversized environment. Contemporary coverage listed Steam, supported Xbox storefront access and PC Game Pass as possible routes, subject to the matching version and entitlement. Mafia: The Old Country was scheduled for August 8
Hangar 13’s crime-action story was announced for GeForce NOW alongside its August 8, 2025 release. The supported cloud listing identified in contemporary coverage was the Steam PC version. Set in early-1900s Sicily, the story follows Enzo Favara’s rise in Don Torrisi’s crime family, with melee and gun combat, period vehicles and horseback travel. 2K described it as the first Mafia game built with Unreal Engine 5. 2K’s release announcement lists its launch platforms, date and premise.

The dates above describe the 2025 launch schedule, not a new August 2026 announcement or a guarantee about the current catalog. The 2K announcement also lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as release platforms, but a console purchase should not be assumed to unlock the Steam version used through GeForce NOW.

GeForce NOW streams games; it does not normally give them to you
A GeForce NOW membership provides cloud-streaming access, not a free copy of each paid game. You generally need to own the PC version through a supported store or have an eligible subscription entitlement. For Grounded 2, that could mean a Steam or supported Xbox/Microsoft Store entitlement, or PC Game Pass access if the game and account route are supported. For Mafia: The Old Country, the cited GeForce NOW listing was for Steam, so plan on needing that PC license.
Storefront licenses are not automatically interchangeable: owning a console edition does not establish ownership of the Steam edition. Subscription access also depends on the subscription remaining active and the title continuing to be included. Check the game’s current listing and select the storefront that matches the entitlement in your account.

How to launch the right version
- Sign in to GeForce NOW in its app or a supported browser client.
- Connect the relevant game-store account in the service’s account settings.
- Search for Grounded 2 or Mafia: The Old Country by its full title.
- Select the storefront matching your entitlement: Steam for the Steam version, or the supported Xbox/PC Game Pass route for Grounded 2.
- Confirm you own the game or have an active eligible subscription, then launch and complete any storefront sign-in or authorization prompt.
If a game is missing or will not launch
- Search for Grounded 2, not just Grounded, and verify the selected storefront.
- Check that the account linked to GeForce NOW is the one holding the game or subscription entitlement.
- Resynchronize the connected game library, then update and restart the GeForce NOW client if its catalog appears stale.
- For Game Pass access, confirm the subscription is active and that the game and route are currently supported.
- Check regional availability and the live catalog; storefront support and publisher participation can vary, and release-day deployment or library synchronization can be delayed.
Availability is not the same as streaming quality
A supported game can still stream poorly if the connection is unstable or the route to a data center has high latency. Results depend on factors including distance to a supported data center, local network congestion, bandwidth, membership tier, and selected resolution and frame-rate settings. GeForce NOW can suit players who already have a PC game entitlement but lack a powerful local computer; it is less suitable for unreliable internet, offline play or unrestricted access to local game files.
