Godzilla’s portal was a chance-based event on the Fortnite Battle Royale map that began January 17, 2025. Epic Games did not name a spawn location or provide coordinates, so there was no confirmed hotspot to visit. The first player to find and enter the portal became Godzilla, but Epic’s announcement does not confirm that the event is currently available.
When did the Godzilla portal appear?
Epic announced the feature on January 16, 2025, and said the portal could start appearing on January 17 as part of update v33.20. The announcement described a chance of a portal appearing—not a guaranteed encounter in every match.
Epic’s January 16, 2025 announcement did not give a fixed spawn timer or a way to make the portal appear.
Where does Godzilla spawn?
Godzilla did not have a stated fixed spawn point. The portal could appear on the Battle Royale map, but Epic did not identify a named point of interest, give coordinates, or describe a pattern for predicting its location. Claims that it reliably spawned in a particular area are not supported by the announcement.

What happened during the encounter?
Godzilla could use Roar to reveal nearby players, Mighty Stomp Attack to send them flying, and Heat Ray to damage players and structures. Epic advised aiming at Godzilla’s weak spots to deal extra damage.

The announcement documents the 2025 event, but it does not confirm a later return or establish that the portal is available now. Epic said related Battle Pass quests would be available until Chapter 6 Season 1 ended on February 21, 2025; that quest deadline does not establish the portal encounter’s precise end date.
