On April 15, 2020, Gameloft marked its 20th anniversary with Gameloft Classics, a free Android compilation containing 30 older games. Gameloft described the app as an anniversary gift and said it was not monetized at launch. The release is historically notable, but its current official availability and compatibility with modern Android devices are not established by the available evidence.
What Gameloft Classics was
Gameloft Classics—also indexed by some archives as Gameloft Classics: 20 Years—put 30 games behind one Android app. It was a curated retrospective, not a new game, a remastered collection, or a complete archive of Gameloft’s catalog.
Gameloft’s anniversary announcement called the app “completely free” and “not monetized.” Those descriptions apply to the launch announced in April 2020; they do not prove that every later distribution channel had identical terms or that the app remains available today. Gameloft’s announcement also said several titles were appearing on modern smartphones for the first time.
The complete 30-game lineup
Gameloft published this full list. Grouping it by broad genre makes the selection easier to understand, although some games fit more than one category.

Why the collection matters
Most of these games come from the feature-phone and early-smartphone period, when developers designed for small screens, keypad inputs or basic touch controls, limited storage and short play sessions. The collection therefore captures a part of mobile-game history that is often overshadowed by later app-store blockbusters.
Gameloft highlighted Bubble Bash 2, Zombie Infection, Date or Ditch 2, the original N.O.V.A., and Block Breaker Deluxe 2 and 3 in its announcement. The company’s release framed the titles as iconic and foundational; those are promotional descriptions rather than an independent ranking of their influence.

For a first look, shooter fans could begin with N.O.V.A. or Modern Combat 2; players seeking exploration might prefer Diamond Rush or Hero of Sparta; puzzle fans have Bubble Bash 2 and the two Block Breaker Deluxe games. Those are editorial starting points, not an objective “best games” list.
How it fits Gameloft’s history
Gameloft said it was founded in Paris in 2000 to bring video games to mobile devices and claimed it had developed nearly 800 games by the anniversary. Both figures and the company’s description of its role in shaping mobile gaming come from Gameloft’s own corporate statement: the April 15, 2020 announcement.

The 30-game selection is not a complete Gameloft back catalog. Many famous properties, licensed franchises and later smartphone releases are absent. Rights issues, obsolete technical dependencies, conversion costs or a preference for internally controlled properties could all explain omissions, but Gameloft did not give a specific explanation in the announcement.
Was it free, and was it on iPhone?
At launch, Gameloft said the Android app was completely free and not monetized. A contemporary report from Pocket Gamer likewise described it as a free Android compilation of 30 classic titles.

APKMirror preserves historical package entries, including versions 1.2.2 and 1.2.5. Its metadata reports Android 4.1 as the minimum version and Android 9 as the target for the archived packages; version 1.2.5 is listed as uploaded on July 16, 2020, with minor bug fixes. These are historical package details, not a promise of current compatibility.

| Version 1.2.5 | Android 4.1 minimum; Android 9 target; uploaded July 16, 2020 | Current support, updates or game-by-game stability |

If you are trying to install it
- Check Google Play first and confirm that the publisher is Gameloft. A current official listing is the safest indication that distribution is still authorized.
- Check your Android version and device architecture against any official requirements shown in the listing. An app can install and still have games that crash or display incorrectly.
- If only an archived APK is available, treat it as an unofficial acquisition. Verify the file’s authenticity, consider malware and licensing risks, and do not assume archive metadata means Gameloft still supports it.
- Do not assume offline operation, modern touch behavior or first-run success without testing the specific device. The available sources do not document those conditions.
What the collection was not
- It was not a remaster with modern graphics or redesigned controls.
- It was not every Gameloft game released since 2000.
- It was not proof that major licensed franchises were available; the published 30-title list is the authoritative scope for the announcement.
- It was not a guarantee of permanent free distribution or present-day support.
Verdict
Gameloft Classics was an unusually generous 2020 anniversary snapshot: 30 varied games in one free, non-monetized Android app, spanning the feature-phone era and Gameloft’s early smartphone years. It remains especially interesting to retro-mobile fans, but anyone seeking it in 2026 should separate the well-documented launch from the unverified question of whether an official, compatible installation still exists.
