The main current listing is the 512GB headset, observed at about $599–$600 at major retailers; a lower Meta.com price has been reported but should be confirmed at checkout. Compare the exact model, seller, return terms, and total price before buying.
Where to buy Meta Quest 3 in the U.S.
These are observed listings, not guaranteed nationwide prices or stock. Retail availability, delivery dates, promotions, and checkout totals can change; pickup availability depends on location.
| Seller | Observed listing | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Meta | Official Quest 3 product page. A Best Buy Q&A answer attributed to Meta Store Support reported $499.99 at Meta.com; that figure was not confirmed from a captured Meta checkout. | Check the live price, included offer, delivery estimate, and region at checkout. Meta’s Quest help center is the first-party support resource. |
| Best Buy | 512GB at $599.99 in the observed listing. | Shipping and pickup controls are shown, but stock depends on the selected location. The page showed a two-year Geek Squad protection option for $119.99; review coverage and exclusions before adding it. |
| Target | 512GB at $599.99 and a 128GB Quest 3 listing at $429.99 in the observed category results. | Check whether the 128GB unit is new, sold by Target, and covered by the expected warranty. Pickup and delivery depend on store and address. |
| Walmart | 512GB at $599.00 in the observed listing, shown as sold and shipped by Walmart.com. | Confirm the seller and condition on the listing itself; marketplace results can include used, refurbished, or third-party-sold headsets. |
| Amazon | No reliable current product-specific price was established. | Verify seller, condition, storage, return window, warranty eligibility, and any bundle offer on the exact product page. |
The retailer observations put the 512GB model around $599–$600, while the reported Meta.com figure would be lower. These prices may reflect different dates, promotions, or listings; compare the same capacity and check your final total rather than treating any figure as a universal price.
Is Meta Quest 3 available to preorder?
No standard U.S. Quest 3 preorder is currently required: retailer pages present it as a product for ordinary purchase, shipping, or pickup. Walmart’s page labeled for “pre order” is a search/category page, not evidence of a new launch reservation; its current product listing presents the headset for regular purchase. See Walmart’s preorder-labeled page and its 512GB product listing.

A page using the word “preorder” may be stale launch-era wording, a retailer search result, a third-party seller’s keyword, or a listing for a different Quest product. Do not pay an unfamiliar site a deposit or provide payment details just because it claims to offer early Quest 3 stock.
Which Quest should you buy?
Quest 3 512GB
Choose the current main Quest 3 listing if you want its higher-end optical system, expect to install many large games, or plan to use mixed reality frequently. It costs more than Quest 3S, so the extra storage and headset experience should matter to you.

Quest 3 128GB
Some retailer results still show this capacity, but treat it as a listing that needs extra verification rather than assuming it is standard current stock. Confirm capacity, condition, seller, warranty, and included promotion; the observed prices varied, including $429.99 at Target and a separate $499 listing in Best Buy comparison results.
Quest 3S
Quest 3S is the lower-cost route into the current Quest platform, but it is a different headset design and optical experience, not a discounted Quest 3. Observed U.S. listings put the 128GB version around $349–$350 and the 256GB version roughly $419–$449, depending on retailer, listing, and bundle. Compare the exact model and capacity rather than relying on a search-result photo or price.

Refurbished or used Quest 3
A refurbished listing can make sense if the saving is worthwhile and the seller clearly states warranty, return terms, and condition. Best Buy showed a refurbished 512GB listing at $549.99—only modestly below the observed $599.99 new price—so weigh that difference against uncertain battery condition or coverage. For private resale or marketplace stock, confirm whether the unit is opened, whether any promotional code was redeemed, and how support or returns work.
How to choose a retailer
- Start with Meta if you want to compare the official price and first-party purchase route; buy there if its live checkout total is lower and suits your needs.
- Choose Best Buy when local pickup, shipping options, or retailer services matter. A protection plan is an added cost, not an automatic upgrade; inspect accidental-damage coverage, exclusions, deductible, and replacement terms.
- Choose Target or Walmart when their verified local availability, delivery, pickup, or promotion makes the total value better. Check that the listing is sold by the retailer rather than a marketplace seller.
- Use Amazon only after checking the exact listing; a search page alone does not establish the seller, price, condition, or warranty.
The evidence here is U.S.-focused. Prices are in U.S. dollars; warranty coverage, taxes, shipping, supported regions, adapters, and promotions can differ internationally.

What is included, and what might you need?
Check the exact listing’s box contents before ordering, especially if the unit is refurbished or sold by a marketplace seller. Do not assume a subscription trial or promotional software is permanent ownership: some retailer listings advertise a three-month Meta Horizon+ trial, but eligibility, redemption deadline, and renewal terms can vary by retailer, region, purchase date, and offer.
Most buyers can start without adding accessories. Consider extras based on how you will use the headset:

- Protective case: $39.99 observed at Best Buy; useful for travel or protected storage, not essential if the headset stays in a safe place.
- Quest Link Cable: $79.99 observed at Best Buy; relevant for a wired PC VR setup, not required for standalone use.
Quest 3 can be used as a standalone headset; you do not need a gaming PC to use it. PC VR is an optional use case, and a cable or compatible wireless setup adds its own requirements and cost.
Quick Recap
Buying checklist: avoid the wrong listing
- Open Meta’s Quest 3 page and note the live price, model, storage, offer, and delivery estimate.
- Compare the same 512GB Quest 3 at other retailers; do not compare a Quest 3 price with a Quest 3S or a different capacity.
- Read the “sold by” and “shipped by” details. On marketplace listings, identify the actual seller and who handles returns.
- Confirm new, used, or refurbished condition; return window; warranty eligibility; and whether the box or device has been opened.
- Check the total after shipping, taxes, membership requirements, protection plans, and promotions.
- Read any trial’s eligibility, redemption deadline, and auto-renewal terms. A trial can become a paid subscription if it renews and is not canceled.
- Save the order confirmation and any promotion instructions. When it arrives, check the seal, model, storage capacity, controllers, charging equipment, and listed accessories before discarding packaging.
