Himno is a free-to-play Windows game on Steam, built around peaceful 2D platforming, exploration and procedurally generated environments—not combat. Install the original game from its official Steam page (app ID 931690). Do not confuse it with Himno – The Silent Melody (app ID 1079230), a separate game with combat and crafting.
What is Himno?
Released on April 26, 2019, Himno is a single-player 2D platformer focused on movement, discovery and atmosphere. Its environments are procedurally generated rather than arranged as a fixed sequence of conventional levels. The official description presents it as a peaceful, pressure-free experience, with no combat or death system.
Traversal is the main activity: you can wall-jump, slide and dash through spaces that include moving platforms and lifts. The game is a better fit for relaxed exploration than for players seeking enemies, boss fights or a linear story campaign.
Is Himno free on Windows?
Yes. Steam lists the original Himno as Free to Play. You need a Steam account and the Steam client to install it, but you do not need to purchase the base game. The soundtrack is listed separately as optional paid DLC; its price can change, so check the store page for the current amount.

How to install Himno on Windows
- Download and install the Steam client from Steam’s official website, then sign in or create a Steam account.
- Open the official Himno store page. Confirm the title is Himno, app ID
931690, developed by David Moralejo Sánchez and published by GrabTheGames and UpgradePoint. - Select Play Game or the equivalent install button on the store page.
- Choose a Steam library location and confirm the installation.
- When the download finishes, open the Steam Library, select Himno and launch it.
After installation, the game should appear in your Steam Library. The Steam page describes the controls as intuitive, but that is not a guarantee that every controller or Windows configuration will behave identically.
Windows system requirements
These are the Windows specifications listed by the publisher on Steam. They are legacy requirements, not a guarantee of identical performance on every current PC, driver or display setup.

Steam’s client requirements can be newer than a game’s legacy operating-system listing. The store page does not establish formal Windows 11 testing for Himno, so treat Windows 11 compatibility as unconfirmed rather than promised. Windows 10 reached the end of Microsoft support on October 14, 2025; Microsoft’s program installation and removal troubleshooting guidance provides general Windows recovery options.
Older minimum graphics specifications may not map neatly to every integrated-GPU laptop. Meeting the listed baseline does not guarantee the same performance across different hardware and configurations.

Features listed for the original game
- Movement-focused platforming: wall-jumps, slides, dashes, moving platforms and lifts.
- Generated environments: procedural maps encourage exploration rather than progression through a fixed level sequence.
- Non-violent design: the official description says the game has no combat or death system.
- Atmosphere: player actions trigger visual effects, and the game features an emotional, atmospheric soundtrack.
- Steam features: the store page identifies single-player play, Steam Achievements, Steam Stats and Family Sharing, and lists 11 achievements.
- Languages: Steam lists interface, subtitles and audio support in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Turkish.
Store metadata can change. Check the Steam listing for the current feature and language details.
Himno and Himno – The Silent Melody are different games
The similar names can lead to installing the wrong title. Use the Steam app ID as well as the title to distinguish them.

The Silent Melody is a separate product, not a combat mode or update to the original. Its Steam page also lists weapons and equipment, local multiplayer, and controller, gamepad and keyboard support. Those features should not be assumed to apply to Himno.
Beginner tips
Practice movement first
Get comfortable with jump timing, wall-jumps, slides and dashes before trying to move quickly through unfamiliar spaces. Pay attention to moving-platform timing, and treat a missed jump as a chance to learn how traversal works rather than as a reason to rush.

Let exploration set the pace
The original game’s central loop is discovering generated environments and improving your movement through them. It is not presented as a conventional mission-based campaign with combat objectives. Short, unhurried sessions suit its stated emphasis on pressure-free play.
Try community-reported key remapping only if needed
A Steam Community guide describes changing bindings through a launch-time input configuration window rather than a regular in-game options screen. This is community guidance, not official documentation, and the window may not appear in every build.
- Launch Himno.
- If an input configuration window appears, double-click the binding you want to change.
- Press the replacement key, then save or confirm the configuration.

Himno is missing from the Library
- Search the Steam Library for “Himno” and check that the download completed.
- Restart Steam and confirm you are viewing the library where you installed the game.
- Use Steam’s file-integrity verification option for the game if it is installed but will not launch.
You installed the other game
Check the listing and app ID: the original Himno is 931690; Himno – The Silent Melody is 1079230. Return to the original game’s Steam listing if you wanted the peaceful platformer.

Keyboard or controller input is behaving unexpectedly
- Disconnect controllers you are not using and relaunch the game.
- Check whether Steam Input or a connected controller is affecting keyboard input.
- If available, use the launch-time input configuration window to change bindings; the community-described method may depend on the current build.
The original Steam listing does not establish universal controller compatibility.
The game will not install or update
Start with Steam’s file verification and support options rather than registry edits or unofficial DLL downloads. Restarting the PC or reinstalling through Steam may also help. For broader Windows program-installation problems, Microsoft notes that repair or reset options are not available for every desktop app; its troubleshooting page covers those general options.
Performance or display problems occur
The listed requirements are modest, but they do not prove a particular frame rate or guarantee smooth performance on every setup. As general troubleshooting—not verified Himno-specific fixes—close overlays and unnecessary background programs, update graphics drivers from the GPU maker, try windowed or borderless mode if fullscreen is troublesome, and lower resolution or effects if the game offers those settings. Verify the game files before reinstalling.
Is Himno a good fit?
Himno suits players looking for a free, atmospheric platformer with procedural exploration, parkour-style movement and non-violent play. It is less suited to players who want combat, a story-led campaign, deep character progression, competitive multiplayer or a fixed sequence of hand-designed levels. Choose The Silent Melody only if its distinct combat, crafting and base-building focus is what you want.
