Yes—Lara Croft GO is available as a native Windows PC game through Steam. It is a paid, turn-based puzzle adventure, not a standard free Windows download or an Android game that requires an emulator. The Steam listing checked on 16 August 2026 showed a US price of $9.99, although regional prices and discounts can change.
Open the official Lara Croft GO Steam page to buy it safely, then install it from your Steam Library.
Is Lara Croft GO available on Windows?
Yes. The current verified Windows route is the Steam release, app ID 540840. It is a native PC version with its own Steam distribution and input options, rather than a phone version being run through an emulator.
The game follows Lara through an ancient world and the myth of the Queen of Venom. Movement is turn-based: each step can alter enemy positions, trap timing, switches and escape routes. It combines route planning, environmental puzzles, combat encounters, relic hunting and outfit unlocks.

- From the classic video game series
- Use your Wits, your ever-growing arsenal, and skills to beat the competition
- Get to the goal and acquire the artifact
- Avoid the constant threat of wounds, delays, and misdirection caused by other players and creatures
- Over a dozen possible areas to uncover
Do not confuse it with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, or the mainline Tomb Raider games. Those are different, real-time action-adventure titles; Lara Croft GO is built around deliberate puzzle solving. Steam’s support page for Guardian of Light is available here.

What is included in the Steam version?
- Turn-based movement through authored puzzle levels.
- Ancient ruins, environmental obstacles and deadly traps.
- Enemy encounters that function as route and timing puzzles.
- Relics and gems to find, plus replayable levels for completion.
- Unlockable outfits.
- Lush visuals and an original soundtrack.
- Unlimited hints and all outfits included at no additional cost in the Steam edition.
The Steam edition also has platform-specific achievements. Stella’s achievement guide lists 17 achievements and identifies the Mirror of Spirits expansion achievement “Back to Reality”; counts and included content can differ between platform editions. See the achievement guide for that implementation.
Completion means more than reaching the exit
Finishing a level means reaching its exit. A full clear may additionally require relic fragments and gems, while achievements add separate platform objectives. Missing a collectible is not necessarily permanent: replay the level and take the side route or activate the switch you skipped. Stella’s walkthrough documents replay and collectible-focused progression in detail: Lara Croft GO walkthrough.

Controls on Windows: mouse, keyboard, controller and touchscreen
Mouse
Mouse control is the most direct PC option. Click or drag to direct Lara, and click interactive objects when the game presents them. Clicking the intended direction can feel more precise than making a large drag gesture. Stella’s introductory walkthrough documents the click, drag and object-interaction model.
Keyboard
The current store listing does not provide a complete, authoritative Windows keyboard layout. Do not assume the WASD or arrow-key controls from another Tomb Raider game apply here; use the prompts and controls shown by your installed build.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Controller
A controller is optional but useful for couch play or if mouse movement feels awkward. The left stick is used to move Lara according to the walkthrough. PCGamingWiki records Steam-version controller support and full controller navigation, but it is community-maintained, so mappings can vary with hardware and Steam Input configuration: PCGamingWiki entry.
Touchscreen
Touchscreen support is reported for the PC version, but behavior depends on the laptop, Windows configuration and installed build. It should be treated as a convenience rather than a guarantee for every touchscreen device.
Beginner tips for solving levels
Plan the next two moves
Before moving, inspect the destination and the tile after it. Check enemy facing, trap state, switches, levers, spears, rocks, climbable routes and whether Lara will still have a retreat path. The shortest route is often unsafe.
Read enemies as puzzle pieces
An enemy can block a corridor, trigger a trap, force a direction or determine whether a collectible is reachable. Watch how it responds to Lara’s move before committing to a sequence.

Learn the rule before using a hint
- Look for the interaction the puzzle is teaching.
- Test a low-risk move.
- Restart or undo when the game offers that option.
- Use a hint when the underlying rule remains unclear.
The Steam version advertises unlimited hints, so experimentation does not require rationing a fixed supply. The exact hint control can vary by build.
Follow the geometry, not just the goal
A side loop may be the intended route, a trap may be the way to defeat an enemy, and a weapon or environmental object may be needed several tiles later. New mechanics are usually introduced in a relatively safe context; experiment there before optimizing.
Collect before you leave
Check side paths and switches before stepping onto the exit. If a relic fragment or gem is missing afterward, replay the level rather than assuming it is permanently missable.
Troubleshooting the Windows version
The game is missing from the Steam Library
- Confirm that you are signed into the account that made the purchase.
- Clear Library search filters and check Hidden games.
- Check whether Steam is in offline mode.
- Search for the exact title, Lara Croft GO, rather than another Lara Croft game.
- Open the product page directly to check regional availability or an account issue.
Steam says it is unavailable
Regional restrictions, a temporary storefront problem, a title-search mismatch or confusion with an older mobile edition can all produce this message. Use the official product page rather than a third-party download site.
The controller is not detected
- Connect the controller before launching the game.
- Confirm that Windows recognizes it.
- Open Steam controller settings.
- Enable or configure Steam Input if necessary.
- Restart the game after changing the setting.
- Try a wired USB connection if Bluetooth is unreliable.
- Test mouse input to isolate a controller-specific problem.
The game will not launch
- Restart Steam and verify the installed files through the game’s Steam properties.
- Update Windows and graphics drivers.
- Temporarily disable third-party overlays, controller remappers and antivirus interference; check quarantine if relevant.
- Confirm that the drive has at least the listed 2 GB free, plus room for Steam data and updates.
Backing up saves and settings
PCGamingWiki lists Windows locations including %USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalLowSquare Enix Ltd_Lara Croft GO and a Microsoft Store package location under %LOCALAPPDATA%. Distribution method and Windows account can change the exact path. Copy files to a safe backup before editing them; deleting local data can remove progress.
Should you play Lara Croft GO on Windows?
Choose the Steam version if you want a larger screen, mouse or controller input, Steam library management and achievements, or a PC game that rewards careful planning instead of reflexes. It is a strong fit for compact, authored puzzles and Tomb Raider fans who enjoy a quieter interpretation of Lara.

Choose another Tomb Raider game if you want real-time shooting, climbing, large environments, cinematic action or co-op. Lara Croft GO is deliberately a different kind of adventure.

- AN UNFOLDING STORY ACROSS MULTIPLE ADVENTURES — The year is 1193 and Prince John rules Nottinghamshire with an iron fist. Players take on the roles of Robin Hood, Little John, Maid Marian, and Will Scarlet in a cooperative campaign game where each adventure builds on the last. A 216-page hardcover storybook narrates the story and drives the action.
- INNOVATIVE FREE-MOVEMENT MECHANIC — No squares, no set routes. Players move their figures by lining them up end-to-end across a beautifully illustrated 3D-effect game board. - COOPERATIVE TEAMWORK AGAINST THE GAME — Players never compete against each other. Instead, the whole team works together to complete adventure objectives, manage the Banner of Hope, defeat guards, steal carriages, and outmaneuver the villain Sir Guy of Gisbourne — or lose together.
