Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallGuliKit is now listing internal TMR electromagnetic joystick modules for PS5 DualSense and DualSense Edge, PS4 DualShock 4, Xbox Series, Xbox Elite Series 2 and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers. These are replacement parts, not complete gamepads or software fixes. They are marketed to reduce sensor wear and drift, but installation still requires opening the controller, and GuliKit says calibration is required afterward.
The product pages describe both a standard TMR module and a newer 720-degree tension-adjustable version. Compatibility is broad but not universal: controller revisions differ, and GuliKit’s general catalogue is less specific about Xbox One than its dedicated TMR pages.
What GuliKit is actually selling
GuliKit’s products are replacement joystick assemblies intended to occupy the original module’s position inside a compatible controller. They are not replacement thumbstick caps, complete controllers or a firmware-only drift correction.
The standard model is described by GuliKit as a direct replacement requiring no circuit modifications. The company also markets contactless TMR sensing, low-power operation comparable to carbon-film joystick modules, a wear-resistant sensing method and a structure intended to limit interference from magnetic triggers. Those are GuliKit product claims, not an independently verified lifetime guarantee. GuliKit standard TMR product page

What “anti-drift” means here
Traditional analog sticks commonly use potentiometers. Their sensing surfaces rely on physical electrical contact, which can wear or become contaminated. TMR sensing detects changes in a magnetic field without that same sliding contact, so it removes one common wear mechanism associated with drift.
That does not make the entire joystick assembly failure-proof. Springs, gimbals, housings, solder joints, controller electronics, calibration and debris can still cause bad centering or restricted movement. “Designed to reduce sensor wear” is more accurate than “permanently drift-proof.” GuliKit’s “wear-free” wording applies to the TMR sensing principle, not every mechanical part of the module. Supported controllers—and the compatibility warnings
| Platform | Families named on dedicated TMR pages | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 | DualSense and DualSense Edge | Exact controller revision and the module version shown by the seller |
| PS4 | DualShock 4 | Model number, board layout and original module shape |
| Xbox | Xbox Series and Xbox Elite Series 2 | Exact model; do not assume every Xbox One or third-party pad fits |
| Nintendo Switch | Original Switch Pro Controller | Do not infer compatibility with Joy-Con, Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 or unrelated third-party controllers |
The dedicated product pages name the families in the table above. Standard module compatibility and 720-degree module compatibility are not the same as a guarantee that every internal revision fits.

The Xbox One ambiguity
GuliKit’s broader catalogue mentions Xbox One Bluetooth controllers, while the dedicated TMR pages specifically emphasize Xbox Series and Xbox Elite Series 2. “Xbox controller” can therefore mean several different boards. Before buying, compare the controller’s model number, internal board and original joystick module with the seller’s compatibility information, or ask GuliKit or the seller to confirm the exact revision. Standard TMR or 720-degree adjustable TMR?
Standard TMR
Choose the standard version if your goal is primarily to replace a drifting module while retaining the stock resistance and familiar feel. It is the simpler of the two product concepts, although “simpler” does not mean tool-free.

720-degree tension-adjustable TMR
The adjustable model provides a continuous 720-degree adjustment range for stick tension. That describes rotation of the tension mechanism, not 720 degrees of thumbstick travel. Higher resistance can feel steadier for fine aiming; lower resistance can feel lighter for rapid movement or menus. Neither setting increases a game’s input resolution or guarantees better aim.
GuliKit says the mechanism is concealed to reduce accidental adjustment and includes three cap types with different heights and feel. Cap height changes reach and leverage, so the same sensor can feel different even at the same tension. Product details from GuliKit
“Direct replacement” does not mean effortless installation
GuliKit’s wording—direct replacement without circuit modifications—means the company does not advertise redesigning the controller electronics. It does not establish that the job is solder-free, tool-free or suitable for a first repair.

- UPGRADED ANTI-DRIFT TMR JOYSTICK TECHNOLOGY – Evolved from GuliKit's patented Hall Effect joystick, the more advanced TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) thumb stick same works with contact-less magnetic field sensing mechanism to eliminate stick drift cause, while offers ultra-low power consumption, enhanced stability, drift-free long lasting durability, high-precision and silk-like smoothness.
- 720° LEVEL-LESS ADJUSTABLE TENSION WITH TOOL:Our joysticks feature 720° (two full rotations)level-less tension adjustment, allowing you to customize the control force with ease. To set your preferred tension, simply remove the cap(pull vertically) and use the included wrench to adjust the tension by turning the screw marked with the + and - signs. The hidden tension mechanism under the cap can prevent accidental adjustments.
- FOR PS5 JOYSTICK REPAIR & UPGRADE KIT:The joysticks module is a direct replacement for PS5 DualSense and DualSense Edge Controllers, addressing drift and precision issues. It installs easily without requiring any circuit modifications, ensuring a seamless upgrade experience. Note that the entire joystick must be replaced as a unit(joystick & cap). Partial replacement may result in issues such as joystick damage or poor centering performance.
- 3 PAIRS OF JOYSTICK CAPS INCLUDED: Our joysticks kit provides 3 types of caps with different heights and feels for user. For both disassembly and assembly, you need to pull out or press down vertically along the groove. The metal ring on the joystick cap can be removed for a wider range of movement, which offers greater flexibility but may also increase wear and tear on the stick.
- CALIBRATION REQUIRED:For PS5 DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, after replacing the joysticks, use the tool on our site to calibrate the joysticks according to the instructions.
- Open the controller and manage screws, clips, ribbon cables, batteries and triggers without damaging them.
- Expect controller-specific disassembly and, depending on the board and module revision, possible desoldering and soldering.
- Have a way to check stick centering and the complete range after reassembly.
- Recheck the original manufacturer’s warranty and the seller’s terms before opening the case; a modification can affect support eligibility.
Do not treat a generic installation video as proof that the same procedure applies to every DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox or Switch Pro revision. If the controller is valuable, limited edition or still covered by warranty, a competent repair service reduces the risk of turning one fault into several.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Calibration is mandatory after replacement
GuliKit instructs users to calibrate after fitting a module. Reassemble the controller case and screws before calibration and testing, so the mechanism is evaluated in its normal mechanical environment.
PS4, PS5 and Switch Pro
- Install the module and fully reassemble the controller.
- Connect it as required by GuliKit’s open-source calibration page: https://test.gulikit.com/.
- Run the calibration process, then test the center and the entire travel range.
- If the test shows a large error or the stick cannot trace a complete circle, stop forcing calibration and inspect the installation, module version and controller board.
The tool is a calibration aid, not a repair for a physically misaligned module, damaged solder joint, defective board or incorrect part.

Locate the controller’s Recalibrate option and follow the current Microsoft instructions; menu placement can change with console and app updates. Microsoft’s app destination is https://apps.microsoft.com/.
Diagnosing problems after the repair
The stick still drifts
- Confirm the stick is physically centered and test with the controller fully reassembled.
- Compare behavior in the GuliKit test page, another game and, where possible, another console or PC.
- Check whether a game’s dead-zone setting is masking or exaggerating the symptom.
- Look for shell friction, debris or a cap that is not seated correctly.
- If drift remains after a successful calibration, contact the seller about a defective or mismatched module.
The test cannot reach a full circle
Incomplete travel can indicate a module that is not seated, a wrong revision, a damaged board or solder joint, a controller shell interfering with the gimbal, or a defective part. Recalibration cannot create physical travel that the mechanism does not have.
Other controller functions fail
The module concerns the joystick assembly only. After repair, verify features that matter on your specific pad rather than assuming they are certified by the joystick listing.
- DualSense and DualSense Edge: adaptive triggers, haptics, touchpad, gyro, wireless pairing, battery and charging.
- Xbox: wired and wireless connection, headset jack, bumpers, triggers and Xbox Accessories recognition.
- Switch Pro and DualShock 4: wireless pairing, vibration, motion functions and all buttons.
Who should repair—and who should replace?
A GuliKit module makes sense when
- Drift is the controller’s main problem.
- You have confirmed the exact model and revision.
- You want to retain a familiar shape, first-party features or a particularly good controller.
- You can perform the work safely or have access to a reliable technician.
- You accept that calibration is part of the repair, not an optional extra.
A new controller is the safer choice when
- The pad also has worn buttons, damaged triggers, battery faults or wireless problems.
- Parts, labor and the risk of failure approach the cost of a replacement.
- You need a manufacturer warranty and predictable out-of-box operation.
- You want rear buttons, remapping or newer connectivity more than you want to preserve the original pad.
Professional repair is the middle path
A repair shop can preserve the original controller while removing the soldering and disassembly risk. Obtain a current local quote that includes the module, labor and any warranty; prices vary by region and controller.

Availability and what changed from the announcement
GuliKit showcased the upgrade kits at Gamescom on August 20, 2025. The current official product pages list the standard and adjustable modules and their calibration procedures, so describing them only as products that are “coming” is outdated. Availability, regional stock and seller warranty can still vary, and the official pages reviewed do not establish a stable US price. Gamescom announcement
Bottom line
GuliKit’s TMR modules are a credible repair option for owners of supported PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox Elite Series 2 and Switch Pro controllers who want to keep the original hardware. TMR removes a major potentiometer wear mechanism, but it cannot prevent mechanical damage, bad installation or calibration errors. Confirm the exact revision, budget for careful disassembly and post-repair testing, and use a professional if a failed repair would cost more than replacing the controller.
