Yes, Honda built a physical, near-life-size Koraidon-shaped mobility concept. It was developed with The Pokémon Company’s supervision to explore how the Pokémon Scarlet Legendary Pokémon’s “Sprinting Build” might move in the real world. “Real” does not mean Honda has announced a retail motorcycle: the official material describes a project concept, with no confirmed price, production plan, road approval, range or top speed.
What Honda actually built
Honda calls the project Honda Koraidon. The machine is a physical recreation inspired by Koraidon, the Legendary Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet, which Honda identifies as a 2022 game. The project began in August 2024 with Honda employees who volunteered from Motorcycle and Power Products Operations and Innovative Research Excellence.
Honda says the recreation is almost life-size in both size and weight and that The Pokémon Company supervised the work. Honda’s project-page description summarizes the ambition: “With the power of Honda’s technology, let’s try to recreate Koraidon’s mobility in real life!”
That wording matters. This is a technology and design demonstrator, not evidence that Honda has turned Koraidon into a road-going consumer model.

Is the Honda Koraidon a motorcycle?
It is best described as a Koraidon-shaped mobility concept rather than a conventional motorcycle. Honda’s announcements discuss riding and motorcycle-derived engineering, but they do not announce a model for sale or establish that the prototype is road legal.
The concept is intended to express Koraidon’s “Sprinting Build,” including upright movement and a more animal-like posture. Honda has described goals such as standing on two wheels, controlling balance while ridden and changing the limbs, neck and facial movements with speed. Those are project aims and demonstrated behaviors at selected events—not a published production specification.

How does Honda’s Koraidon stay balanced?
Honda says it incorporated self-balancing capability developed through its Honda Riding Assist work. The company also connects the approach to balance research cultivated through ASIMO humanoid-robot development, alongside motorcycle design and simulation technology.
The engineering target is unusually demanding: Honda says it wanted the concept to stand upright on two wheels and reproduce the feel of a four-legged creature’s movement while being ridden in the Sprinting Build. The public descriptions do not provide a complete control-system design, sensor list, actuator layout or performance test data, so those details should not be inferred from the videos or event appearances.

When and where was Honda Koraidon shown?
The machine’s appearances changed over time. Honda’s first public announcement specifically warned that the Aoyama display would be stationary because of space restrictions; later announcements describe ride-on activity, a showrun and test rides.
| Date | Location or event | What Honda reported |
|---|---|---|
| March 7–9, 2025 | Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama, Tokyo | First announced exhibit. The displayed unit was stationary because of space restrictions. |
| August 1–3, 2025 | Suzuka 8 Hours event, Japan | Honda scheduled a Koraidon exhibit; a later Honda update referred to showrun appearances at Suzuka. |
| September 26–28, 2025 | Honda Collection Hall, Mobility Resort Motegi | Honda announced a ride-on experience and an onboard showrun during Japanese Grand Prix weekend. |
| March 27–29, 2026 | 53rd Tokyo Motorcycle Show | Honda’s project page reported that visitors saw Koraidon in person, took test rides and heard from developers. |
These were events in Japan. Their schedules are historical; an old event announcement is not a promise that the concept can currently be seen or ridden.

How big is it?
Honda’s February 2025 announcement reproduced Koraidon’s game profile as 2.5 metres (8 ft 2 in) tall and 303.0 kilograms (668.0 pounds). Those figures describe the Pokémon character, not confirmed measurements of Honda’s prototype. Honda gives no exact machine dimensions or verified prototype weight in the cited announcements.

Honda later reported controlled ride-on activities and test rides, so the project progressed beyond the stationary Aoyama display. That does not mean unrestricted public riding. The reports concern specific Honda events and do not establish a rental program, open-road use, licensing process or general visitor access.

Is Honda selling the Koraidon motorcycle?
No retail release has been announced in the official material reviewed. Honda has not published a consumer price, production timetable, road-certification statement, battery or fuel specification, range, top speed or order process for Honda Koraidon.
The safest reading is that Honda built a working promotional and research concept to explore balance, motion and character design. A showrun or test ride demonstrates that the project can move in a controlled setting; it does not establish a production motorcycle or public-road approval.
Why the project matters to Pokémon and motorcycle fans
Koraidon is normally a game creature whose movement changes as the player travels. Honda’s project translates that fictional idea into a physical object while using technologies the company already develops for motorcycles and robotics. The collaboration also shows how a licensed character can serve as a demanding design brief: the machine has to look recognizably like Koraidon while supporting balance, rider interaction and expressive motion.
For now, the important distinction is between a convincing real-world prototype and a product announcement. Honda has demonstrated the former, not the latter.
