The CORSAIR K70 PRO TKL is a wired, tenkeyless gaming keyboard with Hall-effect MGX switches, adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger and FlashTap. Its compact layout keeps the number pad off the board, while the package includes a detachable cushioned palm rest and USB cable. The features are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of speed or competitive performance.
What is the K70 PRO TKL?
CORSAIR announced the K70 PRO TKL on October 31, 2024, bringing its MGX magnetic switch technology to a tenkeyless form factor. The manufacturer says the MGX Hyperdrive switches use Hall-effect sensors: rather than relying on a conventional contact point, they detect a key’s position magnetically. CORSAIR’s product page also identifies MGX V2 switches in its technical specifications and describes both MGX Hyperdrive and MLX Plasma switches among the keyboard’s internal parts, so it is not accurate to assume every key uses a magnetic switch. CORSAIR’s launch announcement and its US white product page describe the product and features.
It is a wired keyboard with an 87-key matrix, full-key rollover, USB Type-A connection and polling rates of up to 8,000Hz, according to CORSAIR. It also has a rotary dial, media and volume controls, 8MB onboard memory and five onboard profiles. Up to 8,000Hz is the manufacturer’s stated maximum polling rate; it is not a guarantee of a particular measured response time.
What does Rapid Trigger do?
Rapid Trigger is a setting for how a key activates and resets as it moves. CORSAIR says it lets keys activate and reset quickly for successive keypresses, which may suit games where players repeatedly tap movement or action keys. That describes the intended behavior; the available manufacturer material does not provide independent latency tests or establish an advantage in a particular game.
#1 Best Overall
- Speed is Everything: It’s all about speed. With Rapid Trigger, ultra-fast polling rates, and per-key adjustable switches, K70 PRO TKL removes every barrier that comes between you and gaming greatness
- Space-Saving Tenkeyless Layout: The sleek, streamlined tenkeyless layout fits in nearly every gaming setup, while leaving room for sweeping mouse movements
- MGX Hyperdrive Magnetic Switches*: Pre-lubricated CORSAIR MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches deliver a smooth, ultra-responsive keypress. Its sturdy double-rail structure reduces wobble and guarantees peak performance for 150 million keystrokes. *Function keys and non-primary keys feature CORSAIR MLX switches
- Rapid Trigger Advantage: Rapid Trigger dynamically changes your keys’ actuation and reset points, so you can move and reset your movements faster than ever
- Customizable Per-Key Actuation: Adjust the actuation point of each key from a super-sensitive 0.4mm to a deep 3.6mm (in 0.1mm steps) or set two actions to a single keypress with dual actuation for quick-fire combos and action pairs
Can you adjust the actuation point?
Yes. CORSAIR’s current US product page says each key’s actuation distance can be adjusted in 0.1mm increments from 0.1mm to 4mm. It recommends 0.3mm–3.6mm for optimal accuracy and warns that settings outside that range may increase sensitivity and affect consistency. The 2024 launch announcement instead recommends 0.4mm–3.6mm, so the lower end of the recommended range depends on which CORSAIR source is being cited; do not treat the figures as identical.
What does FlashTap do?
FlashTap is CORSAIR’s SOCD feature for opposing directional inputs, such as pressing A and D together. The product page offers three behaviors: prioritize the first key pressed, prioritize the last, or prioritize neither. This can make opposing-key behavior more predictable in games that respond to both inputs.

- Space-Saving Tenkeyless Layout: The compact tenkeyless footprint fits in tight gaming setups and leaves more room for sweeping mouse movements
- Pre-Lubed MLX Red v2 Switches: Pre-lubricated CORSAIR MLX Red v2 linear mechanical switches deliver smooth, responsive, and stable keystrokes, with enhanced ultra-bright per-key RGB backlighting
- Fast Wireless Connectivity: Connect via ultra-fast SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS v1.5 or versatile Bluetooth, secured by AES encryption
- Ultra-Satisfying Typing Acoustics: Two sound dampening layers made from premium foam material, plus pre-lubricated stabilizers, temper unwanted pings and clacks for pleasantly subdued typing
- Game Mode Activated: Press the game mode button and switch to competition-optimised settings, reducing input lag and eliminating distractions
CORSAIR says FlashTap is disabled by default, uses A and D with last-input priority as its default configuration, and can be enabled with Fn + Right Shift. It requires current firmware through iCUE. The launch announcement mentions first- or last-key priority, while the product page also lists the neither-priority mode.
What else can the keyboard do?
Dual actuation
CORSAIR describes dual actuation as assigning two actions to one keypress. Its examples include triggering two spells with a single stroke. Whether that is useful or permitted depends on the game and its input rules; the feature description does not mean every game supports or benefits from it.

Build and included items
The US white product page lists a detachable magnetic cushioned palm rest and a braided USB Type-C cable in the box. The keyboard itself connects by wired USB Type-A. It has a TKL layout, so it omits the dedicated number pad found on a full-size keyboard.
CORSAIR lists double-shot ABS keycaps and also displays a PBT double-shot option on the product page. The technical specifications refer to the shown North American SKU, so confirm the exact regional variant and SKU before relying on keycap material or layout details.

Compatibility, warranty and price
CORSAIR’s US page lists PC, Mac and Xbox One compatibility through a USB 3.0 or 3.1 Type-A port, with Windows 10 or macOS 10.15 and an internet connection for downloading iCUE. These are the listed requirements for that page; check CORSAIR’s current support information for newer operating systems or regional variants. CORSAIR states a two-year warranty.
On September 27, 2026, CORSAIR’s US white product page displayed a price of $169.99 and an In Stock status. Price and availability can change, and that snapshot applies to the official US product page—not to other regions or retailers. The page lists a 150-million-press lifespan for MGX Hyperdrive switches as a manufacturer specification, not as an independent durability-test result.

Who should consider the K70 PRO TKL?
- Consider it if you want a wired TKL layout and are interested in adjustable magnetic switch behavior, Rapid Trigger or configurable opposing-key inputs.
- Check your specific regional SKU if keycap material or layout matters, and confirm that your system meets CORSAIR’s current requirements for iCUE.
- Compare it with other keyboards on layout, wired connectivity, firmware-dependent features, included palm rest and current local price. The available CORSAIR materials do not establish that it is faster or better than competing keyboards.
