The choice is mainly about how you want to play: the 8.8-inch Blaze 8 is lighter and has a faster 144 Hz screen, while the 10.95-inch Blaze 11 has detachable controllers, a built-in stand and a larger display. Acer announced North American starting prices of $899 and $1,099, respectively, in January 2025; those are launch-announcement figures, not confirmation of current retail pricing or stock.

Acer lists the same processor, graphics, memory, maximum storage capacity and battery size for both. The display, physical design and weight are the clearest differences. The Blaze 11 has a larger screen and more flexible tabletop setup; the Blaze 8 saves 330 g and offers the higher maximum refresh rate. Acer’s release also advertises 39 AI TOPS for the shared platform; that figure is not a gaming performance benchmark.
Which Nitro Blaze is better for handheld gaming?
Choose the Blaze 8 for a lighter handheld
At Acer’s listed 720 g, the Blaze 8 is the more portable option. Its 8.8-inch display retains the same 2560 × 1600 resolution as the Blaze 11, with a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz rather than 120 Hz. A higher refresh-rate ceiling can make supported games and interface motion look smoother, but it does not establish that games will run at 144 frames per second: actual frame rates depend on the game, settings and system performance.
Choose the Blaze 11 for a larger screen and flexible setup
The 10.95-inch display gives the Blaze 11 more screen area at the same resolution. Its detachable controllers and built-in stand make it the more adaptable design for playing propped up or separating the controls from the screen. The trade-off is its listed 1,050 g weight, which makes it substantially heavier to hold than the Blaze 8.

Shared components do not prove equal game performance
Both models are announced with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS, Radeon 780M graphics, 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage. Those common specifications provide a useful baseline, but Acer’s announcement does not establish comparative frame rates, battery life during gameplay or thermal behavior. The 55 Wh battery is the same on both, but runtime cannot be inferred from capacity alone.
What do the Nitro Blaze 8 and 11 cost?
Acer announced North American starting prices of USD 899 for the Nitro Blaze 8 and USD 1,099 for the Nitro Blaze 11 in January 2025, with availability planned for Q2 2025. These are announcement prices and a past launch window; they do not establish what either model currently costs or whether it is available. Acer says specifications, pricing and availability vary by region, so check local retailers and Acer’s regional listings for current terms.

What accessories work with Acer Nitro Blaze handhelds?
- USB-C dock: A compatible dock can provide additional connections for a desk or TV setup. Check that its ports and power delivery suit the specific handheld; Acer’s published port information alone does not certify every dock.
- microSD card: Both models support microSD expansion, but Acer’s cited announcement does not specify a maximum card capacity or speed class.
- Protective case: Choose one made for the exact model. Their dimensions and physical designs differ, and the Blaze 11’s detachable controllers and stand call for a different fit from the Blaze 8.
- USB-C power adapter: Acer lists a 65 W adapter for the Blaze 8 and a 100 W adapter for the Blaze 11. Use a compatible adapter and verify power requirements before substituting another charger.
- Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller: This is a separate foldable USB-C controller, not an included accessory for either Blaze. Acer says it supports phones up to 8.3 inches and 18 W pass-through charging; its announced North American starting price was USD 69.99. Confirm device compatibility before buying, since Acer’s listed phone-size support does not confirm fit with either Nitro Blaze.
What comes with the handhelds?
Acer says both include three months of PC Game Pass and the Acer Game Space launcher. The cited announcement does not specify the subscription’s eligibility terms, renewal price or whether the offer is available in every region, so check the terms presented with a particular purchase.
