TUXEDO’s fifth-generation launch covers two Linux gaming laptop lines: the 15-inch-class Polaris 15 Gen5 and the 16-inch-class Stellaris 16 Gen5. Secondary coverage published by Tux Machines on October 26, 2023 identifies AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics for the launch, but does not establish a complete configuration list, pricing, or availability.
What TUXEDO announced
The launch report describes the Polaris 15 Gen5 and Stellaris 16 Gen5 as separate laptop families rather than two names for the same chassis. Both are presented as Linux gaming systems built around AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840HS and configurable NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics.
Those details come from Tux Machines’ October 26, 2023 report, which is secondary coverage. The original TUXEDO announcement for these exact Gen5 models was not available in the material used here, so the reported specifications should not be treated as independently tested results or as direct TUXEDO quotations.
Verified Gen5 information
| Item | What is established | What remains unconfirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Models | Polaris 15 Gen5 and Stellaris 16 Gen5 | Exact chassis dimensions and weight |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS is identified in the launch coverage | Whether every regional or configurable build used this CPU |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics are reported | Exact RTX model, power limit, and graphics-option matrix |
| Storage | M.2 SSD storage is mentioned generally | Supported SSD generations, slot count, capacity limits, and upgrade procedure |
| Memory | Not stated in the available coverage | Installed memory, slot configuration, and maximum capacity |
| Displays and cooling | Not stated reliably | Panel resolutions, refresh rates, brightness, cooling design, and fan behavior |
| Price and availability | Not established for the Gen5 launch | Regional prices, order dates, shipping dates, and current stock |
Polaris 15 Gen5 versus Stellaris 16 Gen5
The model names indicate different size classes, but the available evidence does not support a meaningful performance or value ranking. A proper comparison would require confirmed display specifications, dimensions, GPU options and power limits, cooling hardware, battery details, prices, and Linux-support information for each configuration. None of those comparison points is documented sufficiently for these Gen5 machines in the supplied coverage.

What can be said safely
- Polaris 15 Gen5 is the smaller-named model, while Stellaris 16 Gen5 is the larger-named model.
- The launch coverage associates both lines with Ryzen 7 7840HS processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics.
- The report’s mention of M.2 storage does not prove a particular SSD will fit, nor does it establish how many drives or what capacities the laptops support.
What should not be inferred
- Do not assume the two laptops have identical displays, GPUs, memory limits, ports, batteries, or cooling systems.
- Do not use untraceable percentage comparisons between Ryzen and Intel processors as benchmark results; no attributable test methodology was verified.
- Do not treat an unlisted RTX model as equivalent to another RTX configuration, since laptop performance depends heavily on the specific GPU and its power limit.
Linux support and the Gen5/Gen7 distinction
Later TUXEDO information can easily cause confusion. An official page for the Stellaris 16 Gen7, announced in May 2025, describes full Linux support, choices including TUXEDO OS, Ubuntu, and Kubuntu, and access to two M.2 SSDs and two memory slots. Those are Gen7 facts and cannot be transferred to the Stellaris 16 Gen5 without a model-specific statement.
Likewise, the Gen7 page’s German starting price is not a Gen5 launch price. Buyers researching a used or remaining Gen5 system should verify the exact product code, installed GPU, memory, SSD arrangement, display, operating-system image, warranty region, and seller’s shipping status before ordering.

What prospective buyers should verify
- Find a model-specific TUXEDO specification or quotation for the exact Gen5 product code.
- Confirm the RTX model and its configured power limit, not just the GeForce RTX family name.
- Check panel resolution and refresh rate against the games and external display setup you plan to use.
- Confirm RAM type, number of slots, maximum capacity, and whether any memory is soldered.
- Verify the number and type of M.2 slots and the manufacturer’s supported SSD sizes and interfaces before purchasing an upgrade.
- Check the regional price, delivery estimate, keyboard layout, warranty terms, and Linux image offered at checkout.
Bottom line
The fifth-generation Polaris 15 and Stellaris 16 launch is documented as a two-line TUXEDO Linux gaming laptop release using Ryzen 7 7840HS processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics. The available report is enough to identify the products and their platform, but not enough to declare a better model, quote a trustworthy launch price, or publish a complete specification sheet. Treat detailed configuration, upgrade compatibility, and current availability as items that require confirmation from TUXEDO for the specific Gen5 machine.
