Use these clues for the September 3 Wordle before checking the solution:
- The word has one vowel.
- It begins with the consonant F.
- None of its five letters repeats.
- It can mean to bring or retrieve something.
- It is also associated with the game in which a dog retrieves a thrown object.

The answer is FETCH.
F-E-T-C-H contains one vowel, E, and four consonants. Every letter is unique. As a verb, “fetch” means to go and get something, bring it back, or retrieve it. “Fetch” is also the familiar command or name for a dog-retrieval game.
How Wordle works
Wordle is the daily five-letter puzzle available through The New York Times Games platform. You have up to six guesses. After each guess, colored feedback shows whether letters are in the answer and whether they are in the correct positions.

- Gray: the letter does not appear in the answer.
Digital Wordle or an offline group game?
The daily digital puzzle is a solo, date-specific experience. If you want to play away from a screen, Wordle: The Party Game is a separate licensed physical adaptation for two to four players. It uses secret five-letter words, dry-erase boards and markers, with classic, fast, timed and team modes. It does not contain the specific daily digital puzzle, and current retail price, stock and availability can vary.
