Wordle is The New York Times’ daily five-letter guessing game. After each guess, tile colors indicate whether a letter is in the correct position, appears elsewhere in the answer or is absent. The New York Times acquired Wordle in January 2022. Tracy Bennett became its dedicated editor in November 2022 and selects daily words from a curated list.
