Reach Level 55 and fill the maximum-level XP bar, then open the Prestige Hub from Barracks > Progression and confirm Prestige. Your level resets to 1 and most level-based unlocks relock, but weapon and challenge progress, cosmetics, and lifetime statistics remain. You also earn one Permanent Unlock to keep a level-gated item available after the reset.
How to Prestige in Black Ops 6

Open Barracks > Progression, then enter the Prestige Hub. Review the available Prestige rewards before committing.

Use the one Permanent Unlock earned for that Prestige on an item you want to remain available despite future level resets.
Activision’s Black Ops 6 progression guide says the option appears after you complete Level 55 and reach Max Level. Prestige progression is shared across Multiplayer and Zombies; Activision’s launch briefing describes it as global across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. Warzone free-to-play players receive fewer Prestige rewards than Black Ops 6 owners.

What resets when you Prestige?
- Player level: returns to Level 1.
- Level-based unlocks: most relock, so you must reach their required levels again.
- Loadouts: reset and need to be rebuilt.
- Current-Prestige statistics: non-lifetime statistics start over for the new Prestige.
Your lifetime statistics remain viewable in the Combat Record, according to the official Prestige overview.
What do you keep after Prestiging?
Prestige resets level access, not the underlying progress on most items. You keep:

- Weapon progression, camos, and reticles.
- Challenge progress and challenge unlocks.
- Store and Battle Pass content, including operator and emote unlocks.
- Owned weapon blueprints and other skins.
- Weapon builds, which return when the weapon itself becomes available again.
- Lifetime statistics in Combat Record.
Because weapon builds return only when their weapon is available, a retained build does not bypass the weapon’s relocked level requirement. A Permanent Unlock can help with one chosen level-gated item.

Each Prestige awards one free Permanent Unlock. The official Prestige guide lists unique rewards at Levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50. There are 10 standard Prestiges; completing all 10 unlocks Prestige Master, a further 1,000 levels with milestone rewards.

Should you Prestige now or wait?
The choice is mainly about whether the rewards and extended progression are worth temporarily losing access to level-gated gear. Consider these factors:
- Re-unlocking content: Prestige means working through level requirements again and rebuilding loadouts. If your current setup depends on several high-level weapons, perks, or scorestreaks, waiting avoids that interruption.
- Cosmetic and status rewards: Prestige offers exclusive rewards and a longer challenge track. Those matter more if you enjoy collecting cosmetics or showing progression.
- Permanent Unlock value: Decide whether one item you rely on can be kept available with the token. It can soften the reset for that item, but does not preserve every level-gated unlock.
If the reset sounds manageable and you want the rewards, Prestige once you reach Max Level. If rebuilding your preferred loadout would get in the way of how you want to play, there is no need to confirm immediately; review the rewards in the Prestige Hub first.
